Such a lovely story! I love the illustrations and the colour palette. The characters are superb! I remembered how my father taught me to cycle and related with the story on a different level. Wonderful!

I enjoyed sharing this book with my two young children. This book is about a little girl who is learning to ride her bike, when one day she falls off her dad supports her and encourages her to get back on. This poetic book has lovely illustrations and was perfect for sharing with my youngest who is also learning to ride his bike.

A bell-twanging read for any little one learning to ride their bike!

I Love My Bike follows the outdoor adventures of a little girl and her dad as she learns to ride her bike. We love the lyrical text and her positivity is just so infectious as she describes her bike with the “flame on the frame” and “it’s red so it’s fast” before she’s even touched the pedals.

We know she’s keen to give it a really good try, and there’s a sense of her willing herself to be able to ride her bike. But, as like lots of first goes at things, it doesn’t quite go to plan.

Championed and comforted by dad, she tries again. And then again… and her determination finally rewards her with a beautiful view of the world she’s not noticed before.

The playfully placed text and beautifully emotive illustrations take you on the little girls initially wobbly bike journey, to being whooshed at a terrific speed along with her for the ride!

Hold on tight.

We would absolutely recommend this read.

My daughter and I loved this book, which is about a little girl who rides her bike with the support of her father. She falls off the bike but her father encourages her to try again and although she is scared, she tries again and is able to ride it successfully. My daughter just got a new bike which is bigger than what she is used to, so this book has helped her to be more confident in riding it. The book itself has lovely illustrations and the text is like poetry which makes the book very interesting and a joy to read.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a lovely book, full of interestingly set out prose and beautifully illustrated. I’m very much hoping this will encourage my son to ditch his stabilisers at long last! Another positive is the use of non white characters, which are sadly lacking in children’s picture books

This wonderful book tells the story of a young girl learning to ride a bike, with the help and support of her father. It celebrates her triumphs, as she gains her balance and successfully pedals away. She is supported by her father who encourages and comforts her during her attempts, and as she discovers the beauty of the world around her.

Children will enjoy this book, with its fab and clear illustrations, which compliment the story perfectly. They will be able to excitedly accompany the young girl during her attempts and achievements in learning to ride her bike. It is a great way to support children with their personal social and emotional development (PSED) and emotional literacy. It encourages resilience and confidence, and would be a great to support a child who themselves are learning to ride their bike.

Trying new things can be scary at first, but through this book children will learn that it’s okay if you don’t manage on the first try, or you fall down. But don’t give up, jump back on and try again!

** I received an advanced copy of this ebook to read and review. Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for allowing me this opportunity **

This was a very sweet book that anyone with children who are learning to ride a bike will love , not only does it tell you the joy of riding a bike but also getting back on your bike if you fall off (which most people have at some point!)

The animations in the book are beautiful and go so well with such a lovely story. I would definitely recommend this book !

A family favourite! This was exactly me and I expect children all over the world learning to ride their bike! Beautifully illustrated, I love the differing text size and some rhyme. Children can relate to the story and enjoy sharing this book again and again as they join in with some of the story lines. Perfectly sums up a milestone in childhood.

A young girl is in love with her bike, for its colour, its flame decoration, and its bell. She's just a bit too hesitant and unsure and unsteady with it – until the fateful day she isn't. Easy on the eye illustrations prove the dynamism of the bike ride for all readers, but the winner for me was that this is in poem form – and a most exuberant one at that.
