I will admit I am a huge Debbie Macomber fan, so this won’t be an unbiased review, it’s going to be a completely biased and fawning review. I adore a romance and Debbie is one of the best at writing them, her writing is so engaging, it sucks you right in and means you don’t want to put the book down. Her characters are so relatable and sympathetic, and the story itself is just like a warm hug, returning to an old friend, it will sweep you off your feet. As always I get to the end and I’m sad because it’s over, but always eagerly looking forward to the next. Highly and thoroughly recommended to anybody and everybody
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

I absolutely love Debbie books and again this one didn’t disappoint.. eagerly awaiting the next as always

As usual Debbie brings you to your happy place. Loved this heart warming book as usual this author never disappoints. Look forward to many new adventures with Debbie

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I really enjoyed this lovely book, loved the characters, location and the whole storyline. Great read.

I have read a lot of books by this author and really wanted to love this book. However, apart from the mention of text and email I feel as though it could have been written 25-30 years ago. It felt very outdated in parts. For example why would anyone want to stay with a husband that not only lies but cheats on her? Not to mention , why would a young woman (Carrie) date a man for three years when there is no chemistry and no physical relationship? Definitely many overly conservative plot points that felt archaic ,considering this book was written in 2021. There is a twist but, even this was a little predictable and only furthered the conservative feel..
It is a very gentle story about family ties, new love and family feuds. Probably a good one to take on holiday. I would recommend to an older audience.

A lovely, easy to read book about finding love after divorce, family feuds and moving forward with your life. I found myself really hoping that Julia and Heath’s relationship would work out and felt invested in their lives. A feel good read. Perfect read for a summer afternoon by the pool.

Although not Debbie Marcomber's best work, It's Better This Way is a definite 4 stars, would be 4.5 if that were possible.
The story follows Julia who is divorced from Eddie and, although not wanting a relationship she meets Heath. But there is something about Heath that causes problems in their families. What's the problem and can it be sorted out?
As always with Debbie, this was a nice easy read, ideal for a day on the beach. The writing is engaging and the story gripping. Definitely not a book you can put down, so be ready for a few hrs to read in one sitting.
The characters are believable and easy to relate too.
Overall a highly recommended read.

I love a love story and Debbie writes them so so well! Julia struggled through a difficult divorce and it took her a few years to find her feet again. So when she does she goes for a whole hearted change selling her home and her business and moving into an apartment complex. She settles in well and builds a new life. Then one day she meets Heath at the gym. Heath is very unexpected, calm, gentle, kind and understanding. So they start to fall in love, beginning to blend their families. Then one day there is some devastating news and Julia and Heath must make some very difficult choices. Will love triumph? Or will they choose their children? Or is there a third option?
I have read all of Debbies books and loved each one and I absolutely love this one. Read it!
