Jess Davis knows you can solve most problems with maths - aside from her disaster of a love life, of course. Her daughter Juno has a feeling that Jess could find real love if she just took a chance but between raising a seven year old and a stressful career as a freelance statistican she doesn't have much time for romance.

So when Jess and her best friend stumble across a new genetic match-making service that pairs potential relationships using dna-based equations it just makes sense to try it. Until she discovers she's got a never-before-seen 98% martch with Dr River Peña himself - the creator of GeneticAlly and someone she most definitely does not like. But GeneticAlly anre't going to let a match like this slip them by and offer her money and security if she just tries to get to know him and she really isn't in a position to say no.

As Jess is thrown into a new world and trying to wrap her head around the intertwining of science and soulmates. she might just learn something about both.

Now I'm going to say it before you can - I thought this was going to be just like The One too - and as much as I adored that book the DNA-based matchmaking was where the similarities end. There's been plenty of books that toy with this idea and The Soulmate Equation is an example of taking a common idea and doing it right.

I loved Jess and Juno right away - the characters in this story were the shining star by far. Jess was strong, kind and so herself and her best friend Fizzy who is "Made of charisma, witchcraft and bad judgement" was an absolute delight who I wanted so badly to be my friend too.

I could feel the pressure to live up to their percentage and the fear that they might actually fall in love with each other. I thought I knew exactly where this story was going and while there was an enjoyable predicatability in some parts, there were some absolutely brilliant twists and turns in their relationship that made my jaw drop.

Sexy, steamy and so so sweet - Christina Lauren has the equation for a perfect romance.

This is a romance story based off of Maths. It was surprisingly good with that premise. Not my favourite Christian Lauren but still worth a read, If you’re looking for something to take to the beach.
