This was a delightful way to begin catching up on all the books I haven't read in months - short stories all about weddings that really warms your heart these snowy winter days. I loved seeing our ladies from EJ Noyes - Reaping the Benefits and I enjoyed reading some stories from my favourites Tagan Shepard, Kate Gavin and, Jamie Clevenger. My surprise favourite was Celeste Castro, although I really shouldn't be surprised because I loved her other short story this year, so she'll be at the top of my list from now on!

I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a nice compilation of short stories with wedding themes. I hadn’t read anything by about half the authors, so it was also a nice intro to some authors I’ll check out further. My favourites though were New at Love by Clevenger and the epilogue to Reaping the Benefits by Noyes. I also liked Trouble in Mind by Louise McBain, it sort of read like an epilogue to a book, and I would enjoy seeing how these characters met and their relationship unfolded. I found Castro’s Queen for a Day a bit weird, but most of the others were enjoyable enough. 4 stars

Another Bella Books authors anthology title, this time around the theme is weddings. Truthfully by the mid-way point, I was sick and tired of anything having to do with weddings. Most of the stories also seemed to be one off/stand alone stories rather than tying back in to one of the authors' novels. Overall, I felt like these were just okay, and mostly unmemorable. There were one or two exceptions--a scifi-leaning story Queen for a Day comes to mind--but otherwise, a rather 'meh' offering.

This anthology includes eleven stories by eleven wonderful authors. It is full of love and charm with weddings as the common theme. I adored all of these sweet, warm and beautiful tales. Some were other worldly, some mysterious, some based off of full length books and some just contemporary goodness, but all will make a true romantic smile. There is something for everyone in this special book and Im sure you will love it as much as I did!

Diverse characters and amazing stories full of love, mishaps, old and new wedding traditions. This is a must have for your collection. It is not your standard romamce anthology. This one covers a range of topics.

Absolutely loved it.

3 and a half stars. This was hard to judge, because the stories are so short, we don't have time for anything other than the briefest of glimpses into these characters' lives. As a result, unless the story is a sequel to a full-length novel or novella, it was really hard to get into it.
My favourite was E. J. Noyes' mini sequel to Reaping the Benefits, but the other story that stuck out for me was Celeste Castro's Queen for a Day. That's entirely because I am such a sucker for Anne Boleyn. The story was fairly interesting, and I only spotted one error, (sweating sickness in 1528, not 1538!!) though considering how the protagonist is supposed to know a lot about her, there was some information that was too obvious, like common knowledge for anyone who's even heard of Henry VIII. I wasn't entirely sold on the reveal of Andi's identity, but I guess it was plausible.
Most of these authors are merely okay for me, and I treated this as a sort of sampler to see if I am interested in reading more of any of them. Again, this was really hard to gauge. I did find out in the process of reading this that I draw a distinct line between fluffy and sappy, and a lot of these fell on the wrong side of that for me. But the writing, and the fact that other people might not be as picky, makes this definitely worth 3 and a half stars.

June Brides have been around since Roman times so what a perfect time of year for Bella Books to publish a collection of wedding centric short stories featuring some of their best authors. Like all anthologies, I had my favourites and now have a new list of authors whose books I want to read. Others may have different top selections and that is the beauty of short story collections, there is something for everyone in Save the Date.

I loved Jaime Clevenger’s New to Love. It was a great way to kick off this collection and a story I would love to see expanded to a full length romance. Kay Acker’s The Wedding Party showed us the impact a marriage license can have on two beautiful souls living on medical disability allowance. Melody and Nikki made their story memorable and right up there as my favourite in the book. Other standouts for me were Tagan Shepard’s Out With the Old, Celeste Castro’s Queen for a Day and Dillon Watson’s The Magic of the Coin. There wasn’t a weak book in the bunch and that speaks volumes to the calibre of the authors who have made contributions to this publisher and to the editors of Save the Date.

Slip on your fascinator or your cowboy hat and settle in for a sweet and sexy summer read.

A copy of this book was received with thanks from the publisher via NetGalley for review.

Save the Date was a delightful read, I seem to be really getting into short stories at the moment at this anthology was great. A series of stories written by 11 authors all focused around weddings, where the main characters are in some way part of the wedding. Often many romantic stories around weddings are heterosexual, this collection focuses mainly on lesbian love and with a dash of non-binary and bisexual love.
The stand outs for me where ‘The Wedding Party’ by Kay Acker and ‘Queen for a Day’ by Celeste Castro, I would gladly read an entire novel for each one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bella Books for an ARC.

What a fun summer read-I love anthologies because I discover new authors. With Save the Date, I have multiple new authors I am looking for more books they wrote, and I was really excited EJ Noyes contributed to this (it was the only author I have purchased books before from). I did buy Ms. Noyes' Reaping the Benefits because of the short in this book-loved it.

As for the other authors: Tagan Shepard
Jessie Chandler
Louise McBain
M.B. Guel
E. J. Noyes
Celeste Castro
Kay Acker
Dillon Watson
Cade Haddock Strong
Kate Gavin
Jaime Clevenger........many of the I am looking to find more on. Each short story had a wedding connection (either directly or indirectly) and all were so fun to read. I really enjoyed the diversity of characters, and each of the authors style of writing.

If you are looking for a good summer read, I highly recommend this anthology-and since I just finished EJ Noyes book, I recommend Reaping the Benefits also.

I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, but would have written the same opinion if I had come across these authors on my own.

This is an enjoyable read for the summer reason as weddings start picking up again. I enjoyed how the anthology featured very different genres and writing styles, and a range of established authors and new names. Some stories were stronger than others, and the wedding theme was more prominent in some. Jaime Clevenger and Tagan Shephard's stories stood out for me. Overall, I'd recommend this book as a nice and light read for the summer.

Typically I enjoy book with stories from various authors. I have found work from authors that I never would have heard of! This book had some very good stories in it. It also had some that I didn't enjoy as much.

The story that really stood out was about a woman who wins a trip to England. She meets a very interesting woman at a museum and they are instantly drawn to one another. The twist at the end was ingenious! I am definitely going to check our further works from this author!

If you enjoy anthologies, pick this up. You might find your next favorite author! I did!

This seems to be the month for anthologies since I seem to have several in my TBR pile including Save the Date, a collection of short stories written by Jaime Clevenger, Kay Acker, Louise McBain, Tagan Shepard, Celeste Castro, Dillon Watson, Cade Haddock Strong, Kate Gavin, M.B. Guel, Jessie Chandler, and E.J. Noyes. What all these stories have in common (besides being written by excellent authors) is they all have something to do with weddings. How appropriate for June, the month of weddings.

I enjoyed reading most of the stories, but I have to admit a couple of them really stood out for me. Jaime Clevenger’s “New at Love” about a shy maid of honor and the seamstress who saves the day for the bride just melted my heart. It is just one of those uplifting tales that makes you happy to have read it.

My favorite short story of the anthology is “Something (Really) Old” by E.J. Noyes. This short story is a mini sequel to her novel Reaping the Benefits. I had a blast seeing Jane and Morgan again, especially the day before (and the day of) their wedding. Things are never boring when one of the brides is Death’s Head Minion.

With eleven different tales by the same number of very talented authors, I’m sure everyone will find a story or two (or maybe eleven) they will fall in love with. I’m glad I had the chance to read all of these short stories. I’m giving this anthology a rating of 3.75 stars and moving it to four stars overall.

“Save the Date” is an appropriately timed anthology as here in states, we have moved into wedding season. “Save the Date” a series of 11 short stories where the theme is a wedding. In some the main characters are the ones getting married and in others, they’re just guests or part of the bridal party.

I find anthologies to sometimes be hard to rate as they’re mostly hit or miss. “Save the Date” followed that trend and while there were a couple misses, I found most of them to be hits. I’m not a huge fan of short stories but I wanted to read this as a couple of authors I’m interested in are part of the anthology so I got to get a feel for them as a writer.

I’m not going to give a review on each but I will mention a few that stood out to me. “The Wedding Party” by Kay Acker was especially moving and had me tearing up a bit. “Queen for a Day” by Celeste Castro was comical with a twist that while I saw it coming, still made me laugh in the end. M. B. Guel’s “Ground for Panic” was cute and probably my favorite of all. I was sad it was only a short story as I just wanted to read more.

This a good collection of short stories that I would recommend if you’re wanting an introduction to a new author’s writing or have a love of weddings.

Since June is the traditional month for weddings, Bella Books offers "Save the Date" with eleven short stories related to f/f weddings, marriage proposals, wedding parties, and celebrations of love. While I am quite familiar with some of the authors, others I had never heard of before. My favorite short story was by an author I had never heard of prior to this anthology. M. B. Guel crafted a wonderful story with Grounds for Panic set appropriately in a coffee house. They did a remarkable job of combining sizzling character chemistry, angst (but not too much), and humor in less than 40 digital pages. Another standout for me was Jamie Clevenger's story New at Love. Amongst the eleven stories I did not read some since they did not appeal. So overall the book was a mixed bag which is unfortunately what a reader finds with some anthologies. 3 stars

This was a charming anthology that makes a great "palate cleanser" between long novels. The timing was terrific, as others have pointed out. The collected short stories cover a variety of circumstances, characters and durations. A nice change in pace from a variety of authors.

I had pretty mediocre expectations for this anthology, and it met them. I liked the first story, so I was hoping to enjoy the rest, but it kind of went downhill from there. I can appreciate what it was trying to do, but the writing was definitely lacking for many of the stories, and they didn't come together very well. The fantasy/sci-fi stories, in particular, felt out of place compared to the others, even if they were low on magical elements. A lot of them could've been improved had they been longer, they focused too much on the plot without making me care about the characters, or they introduced too many characters in too short of an amount of time that I couldn't keep track of them. Also, this is a personal thing, but I'm not a big fan of romances with established relationships so that automatically put me off some of the stories. That being said, I did like a few of them ("New at Love" by Jaime Clevenger, "Liberty" by Kate Gavin, "Grounds for Panic" by M.B. Gruel, and maybe "Out with the Old" by Tagan Shepard), so I may check out those authors' other books.

I enjoy this read. Their are eleven authors and consider June seems to be the month of weddings these authors gave us short stories that deal with falling in love at wedding or having a wedding I love the historical wedding. Some stories were short while others were a bit longer. I don’t believe in marriage but I love that others do.

June is traditional time for weddings and a month to celebrate Pride. What could be more timely than an anthology focusing on f/f love with weddings as a common denominator. Eleven different authors create short stories with romances. They include finding love while preparing for a wedding, at the ceremony, and even a story that includes an historical wedding. Most stories cover just a few days but a couple extend longer. There are too many storylines to try and summarize but several of them I would gladly read whole novels with the characters as the leads. I wasn't disappointed with any story although a couple were very short. I've read at least one book by three of the authors and more than one by E.J. Noyes. Now I have some new authors I can be on the lookout for future books. Thank you to NetGalley and Bella Books for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.
