Easy read psychological thriller that kept me entertained!

Paula and Tommy are married, but it seems like they are on different pages about what they want out of their lives together. Tommy surprises Paula with a cruise vacation, and, of course, it’s not exactly smooth sailing.

Fellow passenger Anna has her eyes set on Tommy and is willing to go to extreme lengths to ensure Paula is out of the picture.

I enjoyed how the author also provided one of the main character’s stories through mystery flashbacks, and although I knew who it was referencing early on, it was a fun little twist. Overall, this was not a story with (any) likable characters in my opinion, but very fast paced and a fair share of thrilling scenes.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Paula is married to Tommy and has a good life, except for one thing Paula wants children and every time she brings up the subject, Tommy has a good excuse why the time is not right. Anticipating Paula will bring up the subject again, he surprises her with tickets for a cruise to see the Northern Lights.
Once on the cruise, Paula befriends the glamorous Anna who wants the life Paula is living. A brilliant psychological thriller that will leave you gasping.

I really wanted to enjoy this book. As soon as I read the synopsis I wanted to start reading.
Paula is married to Tommy. They both want different things in their relationships, Paula wants to start a family, Tommy doesn’t, instead of communicating with Paula he distracts her by booking a cruise.
On the cruise they meet Anna. A lone traveller who claims to run a successful business and immediately latches on to the couple.
There are parts of the story that made me feel sorry for Paula - Her own husband could not be any less interested in their marriage and despite booking them the holiday seems to spend all of his time with a group of men he meets onboard. This leaves Paula to become the victim of some mishaps such as getting trapped in a sauna.
With Tommy paying Paula no attention at all and ruthless Anna setting her sights on Paula’s husband it should have been the exact kind of story I like to read. For me this book was a bit slow, it struggled to hold my attention and as a result it took me forever to get through.
If you like a slow burn that is easy to read this one is for you. If you’re looking for an edge of your seat thriller this is not the book for you.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Paula wants to start a family, husband Tommy does not. When Tommy presents her with tickets for a cruise to Iceland Paula assumes he has changed his mind. Ana is out to get Tommy with whatever it takes. A psychological thriller with twists and turns you may or may not see coming. Some I guessed others I missed. A good read for those who like the darker side of humanity.

When you meet someone new, you often think that what you see is what you get, but sometimes you could not have been more mistaken...

Why do people not (always) show their true colors? Some do it because they want to hang on to what they have achieved. They say yes or no when it's expected, they don't argue. They are afraid of putting a foot wrong and what it will do to them.

Others do it in order to achieve something, to have a better life but at what cost? They lie, cheat and manipulate and it doesn't matter who they hurt in the process.

Making friends was never easy. Not when you were a child, not now you are an adult. When someone reaches out to you and 'helps' you, you feel grateful and think you finally have made a friend. The question is though: is this the kind of friend you want around...?

Some of the chapters take us to 'before' where the life of one of the characters is detailed. It's until much later that the author reveals the name of said character. I had figured it out a bit before that, but I did not mind that. I was not 100% sure and when it was confirmed I was still a bit surprised and a bit proud of myself for my detective work. :)

I enjoyed the author's way of thinking. In my opinion it was sometimes a bit over the top, but it was a very nice read.   4 stars.

Thank you

More Than Coincidence…
Paula is fighting to save her marriage. She thinks husband Tommy is too - particularly when he books them a cruise, a getaway for the both of them. Cruisebound, they meet Anna. The enigmatic and beautiful Anna - who may just go to extreme lengths to get what she wants. When bizarre occurrences become more than coincidental, Paula is given food for thought. Entertaining and engaging suspense with twists to keep the reader turning the pages. Enjoyable escapism.

This was a very entertaining read with comparisons to The Last Mrs Parish that I absolutely loved
Paula believes herself to be happily married to Tommy , but he is reluctant to start a family and doesn't treat her particularly well . On a luxurious cruise they meet Anna , who sets her sights on Tommy and will step right over Paula to get what she wants , when a series of mishaps occur Paula has no idea that her new friend is behind them as she tries her best to come between the married couple . With secrets all around and we know that Anna is not who she seems and dangerous this was great fun .

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The book is very fast paced, alternating between present timeline to the past, I would say the plot is better than the character development. The characters were a bit too simple and one dimensional, and their actions not very believable.

Overall, an easy to read thriller, but not very memorable.

I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review

The book took a few twists I really wasn’t expecting, which took it up from 3 to 3.5 rounded up. The writing and the character development is not amazing but you keep turning pages to find out what will happen next.

A good read with a good plot and interesting characters. It took me a little while to get into the storyline as it didn't grab me at the beginning.

I have not read this author before but hopefully will read more in the future and I can recommend.
