Now…This is a hard one for me. This has been on my tbr for ages and I’ve been ignoring it. I’ve read a few in this series already and I love them, the storyline and writing is fantastic. However, I’m terrible with violence, really terrible - I can’t even take someone getting punched type level - makes me all woozy.

In short, these books are for the the exact opposite of readers like me. But..I really love them, I did almost mark this as “DNF” multiple times, but I persevered as usual, and I don’t regret it at all.

This is such an excellent series, it really is, this book is no exception, and if you’re ok with a bit of violence then all then better!

My thanks to Netgalley and Avon, HarperCollins for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review (even though it’s well past it’s date..sorry)

What an amazing book!! I cannot recommend this series enough!!!

Trick or Treat is the seventh instalment of the Imogen Grey and Adrian Miles series. I have followed this series and all previous books have been excellent.

This book begins with the abduction of a six year old boy Marcus from his street, right in front of his own house on Halloween. This was witnessed and videoed by a young man named Jason who was originally afraid to come forward to the police as he was also in the middle of committing his own crime of breaking into his ex girlfriends house while she and her family were away on holiday.

What follows is an expertly woven investigation in to the crime, Imogen senses something amiss within the family. I wont reveal any spoilers but this book is definitely worth the read. I find the relationships within the police team well developed and work well together

For fans of the series they will understand the complexities of the relationship between Grey and Miles and hopefully as pleased as I was that he finally explained to her the reasons for his behaviour and what actually happened to him in the previous book 'Woman in the Water'

With thanks to NetGalley, the author and publishers for an ARC copy in return for an honest review

A child disappears in front of a frightened teenager who contacts the police.
When the detective goes to the parents' home, they are in the middle of celebrating the halloween season. They claim that the child is safe.

Thus begins this mysterious and spooky thriller

Trick or Treat begins with kidnap of 6 year old Marcus. But when Imogen Grey turns up to question the parents they deny there's a problem....but if that's the case why can't they explain where Marcus is and the anonymous call reporting the incident? When his desperate mother admits the truth Imogen races to find the boy. But something feels very wrong to her. Why has the witness not come forward? And how is it the kidnappers seem to know so much about Marcus?

A real return to form, this was great from start to finish. There is still maybe a little too much concentration on Adrian and Imogens relationship but it's a lot clearer how their story is developing and how that ties into the story as a whole. But please Katerina Diamond, please stop torturing Adrian! He's one of my favourite sidekicks!

As always not one for the sensitive but a bloody good read.

Wow. Katerina Diamond has done it again! I started the Imogen Grey series in the middle but have enjoyed each one I’ve read, but this one is definitely my favorite! (It is perfectly ok to read this even if you haven’t read her previous books but I highly recommend doing so!!) This book hits the ground running with a 6 year old boy getting kidnapped on Halloween from his front yard. The only witness to it is a teenager who was breaking in to an ex girlfriend’s house across the street and is afraid to come forward. DS Imogen Grey is on the case and she has her work cut out for her. I don’t want to give too much away but just know you’re in for so many creative plot twists that, as an avid reader, I didn’t even see them coming! The last few chapters had me racing through the pages down to the very last word of the book when my jaw dropped. Highly recommend this! And I cannot wait to read the next one in this series.

Trick or Treat by Katerina Diamond Narrated by: Stevie Lacey this book is the seventh in the superb Detective Imogen Grey series and it did not disappoint. A six year old boy called Marcus is playing out in the street on his bike where he lives and is snatched by a stranger, The only person who has witnesses this abduction is a teenage boy who is frightened and determined to keep himself hidden and phones the Police anonymously.
When Detective Imogen Grey is called out to an expensive Exeter street, to visit the child’s house, Marcus's parents deny that their son has been taken. They act as if nothing has happened to him!

OMG!!! Why!!! I know I would be in bits!!!!

What has happened too little Marcus?

Where is he?

Will Detective Imogen Grey and her team find Marcus in time?

This latest book by Katerina Diamond is full of brilliant twists and turns throughout and will have you hooked from the beginning till the end. This series has been a 5 star read. I have loved this and looking forward to the next book in the Detective Imogen Grey series.

I highly recommend this book!

This book is a thriller in every imaginable way. It's Halloween and six year old Marcus is outside riding up and down his street on his bike while wearing his Halloween costume. Jason is in the house across from Marcus's and is totally trashing the place. He looks outside and sees the little boy get thrown in a white van. He was abducted right outside his house. This story really takes you to the darker side of human nature. There are so many twists and turns in this plot, you may never find the suspect. The ending was totally unexpected. This book is powerful.

This is the seventh book in the series featuring DS Imogen Grey and her partner DS Adrian Miles. When a six year old boy, Marcus, is snatched from outside his house, the only witness is a young, frightened teenage boy who makes an anonymous call to the police, Imogen is sent to speak to Marcus’s parent who claim everything is ok. The mother than admits they have had a ransom call and so Imogen and her partner Webb start to investigate the case. The last book, Truth or Die, was quite shocking and we find that Adrian especially is struggling with the aftermath. He is now working for a security firm but is really struggling with a huge secret that he is keeping from Imogen. The action switches between Imogen desperately trying to find Marcus before it’s too late and Adrian trying to trace his attackers. This is a book full of tension, brilliant characters and a very emotional storyline. A fantastic read. This series gets better and better and I can’t wait for book number eight.
Thanks to Netgalley and Avon for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

A boy gets kidnapped on Halloween night. Will he be found? Will he be returned?

Very exciting mystery. Thriller. It took you down many roads, some dead-ends. Kept you guessing where Marcus was right up to the end. Great writing. I recommend this book.
