I love every Lindsey Kelk book I have ever read and this latest novel did not disappoint. Another 5 star book.
It was fun, fabulous escapism with a gorgeous main character in Fran who finds herself the PA to a superstar and whose life is turned upside down. It really was a huge dose of sunshine and sparkles and just what I needed. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a little cheering up abd an escape from the humdrum.

I am a long term fan of Lindsey Kelk and this book does not disappoint! A mix of realism and celebrity life is used to make her newest novel and it leads to an entertaining, funny romantic read. Kelk is at her best when using her humour in her writing and this is a definite winner!

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS!

Have I mentioned I 💜 this book?? 😜

Disclaimer.. I am a HUGE fan of @lindseykelk books but this one has definitely made it into my top 3 favourites.
If you love a rom-com, engaging plot, strong characters, swish locations plus a good sized dollop of wintery Yorkshire then this is for you! I can’t wait for you to meet Fran and go on your travels with her.

It’s an undoubtable 5⭐️ review from me and my physical copy is already preordered. So excited for my first ever Lindsey hardback 😍

I really do adore the way in which Lindsey Kelk writes. It's incredibly relatable, packed full of up to date pop culture references, funny and wise.
This was the perfect escapist read, taking me from being stuck at home to the glamor of a luxury yacht to a little Italian port (I really liked Fran and Evan's meet-cute in the shop) to an extravagant ball.
I loved Fran as a character. She was easy to relate to and incredibly likeable. And because of that I could easily put myself in her shoes.
I actually felt like I saw a lot of myself in her, which made me even more excited to see how her story would turn out.
If I had to compare On A Night Like This to another book or movie it would be a mash up of The Devil Wears Prada (when she's working as an assistant) and Cinderella (for obvious reasons once she begins to entertain attending the Crystal Ball).
I enjoyed the romantic elements and Evan as a character for us to root for her being with. But I also liked that it wasn't all about going from one relationship into another or having her being in a relationship, albeit an unhappy one and then having a torrid affair one night whilst pretending to be someone else.
Evan's jigsaw analogy is also a stand out and something I won't forget anytime soon.
This was a brilliant book and whether you're a fan of Lindsey's back catalogue or not, I cannot recommend On A Night Like This highly enough!
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This was my first book by this author but I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down. Entertaining premise and likeable main character. Funny and light and perfect for summer. Highly recommend.

Another absolute gem from Lindsey Kelk! Warm, light hearted and lovely to read. Fran is unemployed and struggling with her relationship when she takes an assistant job with a famous singer who ultimately changes her life for the better. The story races along, I devoured it in a few hours, and left me feeling uplifted and happy!

I am a huge fan of Lindsey Kelk, so requested this book as fast as my internet connection would allow.

It did not disappoint.

Fran is a walkover. She is so eager to please others that she neglects her own life. She is engaged to Stew and lives in Sheffield in Stew’s deceased nans house.

Fran is offered a temporary job as a PA for a celebrity - Juliette. I loved the relationship between them and how their friendship grew. In this role, Fran manages to get deserted on an island and attends the famous Crystal Ball.

Fran meets Evan and a definite love at first sight moment happens between them.

The book is funny, easy to read, romantic and cringey in equal doses.

Lindsey Kelk has a skill of writing relatable realistic women, exploring their emotions and giving them a happy ever after.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

I love Lindsey Kelk's I Heart... series but haven't always had the best luck with her stand-alones; I think the only one I've enjoyed is One in a Million. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked On A Night Like This, a fun, frothy, escapist read. Fran is surprised to suddenly be appointed as temporary assistant to the incredibly famous singer, Juliette, and asked to accompany her via private yacht to the Crystal Ball, a super-exclusive party on a tiny Mediterranean island. This also offers Fran the chance to get away from her long-term boyfriend, Stew, for a few days and work out what she wants next from their relationship. This being a Kelk novel, things start to go wrong for Fran almost immediately - but will she find what she's looking for at the Crystal Ball? Unlike most chick lit, Kelk's books tend to have a core of emotional honesty about the difficulties of relationships that makes me really warm to her characters, and although Fran's journey is in many ways unrealistic, it feels emotionally authentic. Also, I always love a glamorous foreign setting.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for opportunity to read and review this book.

Fran has been with her fiancé Stewart for ages. They moved to Sheffield from London when his grandmother died and left him her house.

He gave up his photography career in London and she gave up travelling for work. But when Fran is offered a temp job sailing on a yacht with a celebrity singer for a few days, she ends up taking the job anyway.

Stewart hardly listens to her anymore and seems to be far more interested in his ex than he is in her.

The trip changes things for Fran. Her boss gets her honest feelings out of her and nudges Fran into realising the life she is leading is not for her.

When Fran is left to attend the annual super swanky Crystal Ball by herself, things turn into a modern day Cinderella story.

This is a sparkly and enjoyable read. Fran is a loveable and genuine character who realises that if she doesn’t place her first, then others won’t do that for her. It’s a super read!

Within days of wishing she could change her life, Fran Cooper is acting assistant to a celebrity, on a yacht in the Mediterranean, and en route to a tiny Italian island and the glittering Crystal Ball, along with the world’s rich and famous. When she – quite literally – bumps into a handsome American called Evan, a man able to keep his cool in the face of chaos, the magic really begins. Evan makes her a promise: no last names, no life stories, just one unforgettable night. Yet Evan belongs at the Crystal Ball and Fran is a gatecrasher. They may be soulmates, but their homes are an ocean apart, and their lives a world apart. They’ll never meet again – unless, on a night like this, everything can change forever.

This very much feels like a modern day Cinderella, I do not mean this in a bad way but at times it does feel like it is lacking a little originality. However, this did not dim my enjoyment of the book at all. I was swept away by the incredible events that Fran finds herself faced with. Who would not want to be whisked away to a luxurious yacht and ball for the night?!

As well as being a very enjoyable read, this is very funny too and there were many moments where I was laughing out loud. I really enjoyed the concept of the Crystal Ball, that did bring something a little different to the read, and Kelk does a great job at describing this once in a lifetime ball and I could envisage everything perfectly.

My major love of this book is Fran herself. Fran is a fantastic character and one who I could relate to, she is likeable as well which always helps. It was easy to put myself in her shoes and experience everything with her which only served to heighten my enjoyment. Kelk's other characters are very strong as well and I enjoyed seeing how they link together and more importantly, how they interact with each other.

'On A Night Like This' proves to be a magical, romantic read that will provide hours of entertainment. This is a very enjoyable read.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance co

I am a massive Lindsey Kelk fan so was so excited when I saw this on Netgalley and even more excited when I got accepted to read it.

This book did not let me down in the slightest, I absolutely loved it! Lindsey has a real knack for hooking you from the very start of the book and this wasn’t any different. Francesca was such a lovely character and I’d love to be one of her friends IRL ;)

When she is offered a job where she’s required to sign a NDA you’re wondering what it would be and when it’s revealed… just Wow! It sounds amazing!!! I’ll not say too much and spoil the surprise though.

I loved the way that Francesca stands up for herself and isn’t afraid to tell people what she thinks of them. And the dynamics between her and Evan are just magical, the night in question sounds truly amazing and it really is a once in a lifetime experience!

His jigsaw analogy was spot on and I love this way of looking at life, it’s such a unique approach that I’ve not heard of before but it really made me smile.

Lindsey has smashed it again with On A Night Like This and I can’t wait for more people to read this so that I can chat about it with them!!!

I absolutely loved this story! Lindsey Kelk is just a brilliant writer and her sense of humour comes through into her writing. The front cover is perfect for the story!

An uplifting story of finding love in places you would never expect! I was happy that part of it was set in Sheffield and recognised the references to places in Sheffield and Rotherham.

Fran meets Evan, both from different worlds and backgrounds. A sweet romantic story!

Thank you to Lindsey and HarperCollins for letting me read this in return for a review.

Oh my!
As a lover of everything Lindsey Kelk writes, I was confident that this wouldn’t let me down, and it really didn’t. In fact it was actually so much better than I had imagined. As always Lindsey writes in a way that makes you smile, and the inclusions of minor details that you can relate to make it feel like your hearing it from a friend (like the old bra’s that should have been chucked long ago & the Chris Evans pictures, eek - but come on, who didn’t look?!)

As for the storyline, the main character Fran is going through a tough time at home, when an opportunity arises that eventually sets her on a path to real happiness (naturally with some hilarious lumps and bumps along the way).

It will have you laughing out loud the entire way through. Highly recommended!

Having enjoyed this author’s previous books I was really looking forward to this one and it doesn’t disappoint.

Fran’s not enjoying life at the moment, so when she is hired as a personal assistant to a major celebrity she’s hopeful that the change will reignite some much needed spark that she has been missing lately. What follows is five days of mayhem and madness and the chance to become the belle of the ball.

A great book with great characters. A lighthearted fun story which made for an easy and entertaining read.

Everything I would have expected from Lindsey. Sheer escapism, light yet mesmerising and completely unputdownable. An absolute page Turner that I ploughed through in a few hours - shame I had other things to do instead of read, but they got forgotten about!

Highly recommended.

Fran is stuck in a stale relationship with her long term partner Stew and desperate for change. When she gets the opportunity to work for a high profile celebrity client for five days, she jumps at the chance. What follows is five days of pure craziness and situations Fran would never have thought she'd be in days before.

I need to start by saying I LOVED this book. I have read everything Lindsey has ever written and always enjoying living vicariously through her characters but this my be my favourite yet. The story was hilarious and I found myself laughing constantly. I raced through it, unable to put it down and desperate to see if Fran got her happy ending.

Thanks NetGalley for an advanced copy.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this light hearted, entertaining and amusing novel. Extreme fantasy that draws you far away from the pressures and worries of the ever changing world brought about by the 2020-21 Pandemic . A host of superb characters, beautifully written with style and sensitivity and the ultimate fairy tale of romance and a great conclusion. A variation of Love Actually but even more compelling and absorbing. Thank you Lindsey for a great book.
