I adored this book and it was just what I needed right now. I just love Lindsey Kelk’s books and this is definitely up there with my favourites. I absolutely love the cover aswell it’s so beautiful.
On a Night Like This is such a warm hearted read and it definitely had me in stitches in parts😅 I loved Fran as a character, everyone needs a friend like Jess and of course I loved Evan.
I’d love if this was a start of a new series as I know I would 100% read a follow up book for sure. I can’t wait for Lindsey Kelk’s next book that is being released just before Christmas, I may have sneakily preordered it
A wonderful story about relationships and following your heart. It is a great book to make you think about your life and what is right and wrong it and act accordingly. Thoroughly Enjoyable
A fun, easy read which I loved. A modern Cinderella style story which was pure escapism. Perfect at any time of year I really enjoyed Fran and Evan’s story
Great characters, a nice writing style, and a thoroughly enjoyable read . Loved it and would highly recommend
An easy read which had me snorting with laughter at points but at other points was really quite thought provoking. I raced through this in one sitting.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
3.5 stars
A fun and frivolous read that whisks you from away reality to a romantic and hilarious night at the ball.
And between all the laughs is a lovely main character who is great at assisting other people with their problems while ignoring the mess her own life has become.
Until a new job forces her to re-examine everything.
I always enjoy Lindsey Kelk books, this was no exception. Recommended if you want a light-hearted and fairy-tale like read.
Lindsey Kelk solidifies herself as one of my favorite authors with On A Night Like This!
This book radiates humor, romance, friendship, and, best of all, cheese. I adored every part of this book, from Fran’s drunken Truth or Dare game with Juliette to the soda run in with dreamy Evan, the equally dreamy ball and everything in between. I especially loved when Rachel did Fran’s makeup and snuck her into the Crystal Ball- girl power to the max! The author easily weaves a story that had me hooting with laughter and feeling chills as I fell love with the story as Fran and Evan fell in love with one another.
One other note- so true that most “grand gestures” hide the fact that it’s too bloody expensive to afford a grand gesture and no one shows you scrolling through the cheapest flights. Ha! Well done, Lindsey Kelk!
I loved this modern and fresh Cinderella style story! What a fantastic book just to escape away into. A really lovely romantic read. It wasn't too unpredictable which some romance books can verge into.
Fun, entertaining read. From the streets of Sheffield to super yachts to exclusive parties! Fabulous settings and hilarious story telling. Really enjoyable and a breath of fresh air to meet some new sparkly characters. A proper lose yourself in the pages book. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you Netgalley
Pour a glass of your favourite drink, grab a blanket and get cosy because you’ll be in it for the duration once you start this book! This book SPARKLES from the first pages right up until the last. But not too much. Although can you ever have too many sparkles? Anyway… it really does! It was warm, hilarious, heart-breaking, emotional, real and… just everything that Lindsey Kelk is becoming so widely loved for.
It’s a modern day Cinderella but that doesn’t fairly summarise everything that this book is about. You really have to dive in to find out more but it has a little of everything and is truly magical.
I read this book after miss Emily henry one of my all time favorite authors recommended this on an Instagram post. I enjoyed this book so much it was a fresh plot that I haven’t read in a while, can’t wait to see more of the author’s work!
I loved On a Night Like This by Lindsey Kelk! Such an enjoyable, fun, feelgood story! I highly recommend it!
This is truly a modern-day Cinderella story.
Fran finds herself falling into a job quite unexpectedly, she had not planned on travelling for work anymore, but the offer was too good to refuse and she finds herself in the middle of a celebrity lifestyle she doesn’t belong in.
Whilst trying to tame the diva she is tasked with assisting; Fran finds herself inadvertently going to the ball and stepping into a life that isn’t quite her own where she stumbles across Evan (although not for the first time) and they spend the evening enjoying each other’s company, but they are from completely different worlds and life cannot be that easy, can it?
A pleasant and magical Cinderella themed tale - I felt it was a bit different from Lindsey's usual style.
Lindsey Kelk can literally do no wrong with her books, can she? This was a magical and gorgeous fairy-tale, with a dose of reality and all the swoon-worthy moments. I am a sucker for a Cinderella re-telling, so had the absolute time of my life reading this one.
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

This was truly a perfect book to just escape into. The book has a cinderella remake feel to it, but that being said it was a really enjoyable book. Probably the best cinderella type remake I have read.
I didn't find it too predictable which I can sometimes find romance novels are generally quite predictable. The book didn't just focus on the romance side of things but also about friendship which I really liked as it made the book more realistic when otherwise it would be pretty unrealistic. Saying that though it was the type of unrealistic escape that I think is needed. A lovely read, would definitely recommend.
Modern day Cinderella story. I love Lindsey Kelk books so it was a no brainer, I had to request this one.
It didn’t disappoint me. I found the usual humour and unique atmosphere.
The storyline as usual was really interesting and unpredictable. I loved the main character and her strength.
I don’t thing this is Lindsay’s best book but definitely it’s worth giving it a go.
A great romance that just seems to fly by.
It has a real good feel factor and leaves you with a warm glow and wanting to read more about the characters.
This book gave me all of the feelings. I felt excited, I got butterflies. I loved it! My first admission is that Lindsey Kelk is on of my favourite authors and her books are a default 5 stars for me as I love her writing style. Her books are easy to read, they flow really well and she has an ability to make you want to be best friends with the characters or fall in love as they do!
Let’s start with Fran: Number 1. Good riddance to bad men, but this element of the story, really shows how we do get stuck in ruts, one’s that we find hard to leave as it has become the norm and change is scary. I love Fran, she is a fierce character with ambitions of her own and an independent strong woman, i felt like I could relate to her, I work in admin, but I now feel like I should be a PA because how glamourous does it sound in this book?!
My next character that I loved, was Jess. Lindsey nails it with the best friend in her books, she nails it with the friendship and the kindness from people including strangers (one’s who may not be strangers to us, hello Rachel?!). I love that the characters were older which made them even more relatable and Jess is the friend we all want and need!
This book is funny, witty and a beautiful story. I mean where else would you borrow someone else’s knickers and go to a ball full of celebrities, special mention for Andrew and that man deserves whatever is coming for him!
Evan, Evan, Evan, Evan, what can I say about this character?! He was patient, kind, swoon-worthy?! Although, I feel very lucky in life that I have my own Evan, but I love that Fran found hers!
One thing that was missing for me, is the next instalment?! I watched the Facebook live yesterday and Lindsey mentioned she doesn’t have one planned, but never say never (which i’m sure we hear in this book too!) so I really hope we hear more from these characters as I really get Angela & Jenny vibes and would love to see how they both pan out!
I think it’s clear to see from my review how much I adored this book and I Heart New York will always have a special place in my heart as it was the first book I read of Lindsey’s BUT this book comes a close second! I urge you to read this book if you love rom-coms, friendships, glamour, celebrities, amazing character progression (Hello Juliette, I’m talking to you!), it just has it all.
I really hope the book hangover isn’t coming ….
What a fun book. I loved the escapism
Of this book combined with the reality of friendship and finding yourself. Fran was a great character and I loved her and Jess’s friendship. A lovely read
