A week's temping job in the run up to Christmas gives Fran the adventure of a lifetime and a chance to reset some of her life choices.

This Christmas novel from Lindsey Kelk was a lot of fun. Wildly unrealistic but it carries itself lightly and has a really good sense of humour. I loved the character of Fran and it was great to see her get her happy ending.

This is Lindsey Kelk at her finest.
Every now and then, a bookworm needs a reset from her usual thriller reads and this book was perfect for just that
I got so swept up in Frans journey
In the first few chapters, when we first meet Stew, I was so mad at the way he treat her and spoke to her. I knew they were just not right for each other
I was so pleased when Fran took the role as Juliette’s assistant
I loved reading about the way they friendship unravelled
The book was a perfect, festive, romantic read and I thoroughly enjoyed it
Please tell me this isn’t the last we hear of Fran! Surely this has to be the making of a new series!

I loved On a Night Like This. An entertaining story with plenty of feels!

Fran is a fabulously flawed character who I was rooting for from the beginning. Her journey of self-discovery has been one of the best I’ve read this year.

I thought I knew where the story was going and was settled into the pace and then bam! a change of direction surprised me. I’d laughed at the antics on the Songbird but the Crystal Ball was on another level entirely. So many favourite moments.

One thing I’m taking away from the story is Evan’s jigsaw theory. Blooming amazing. It helps to fuse the past with the present and make room for the future.

This modern-day Cinderella tale has been an uplifting read. Brilliant characters (as well as the anti-hero) who’ve kept me engaged and given me all the feels, glitzy and glamourous settings, highs and lows.

Desperate for a job, and looking to escape her humdrum life in Sheffield, Francesca takes on the role of PA to temperamental singer Juliette, who is booked to sing at the legendary Crystal Ball. But Fran soon discovers the job is not as easy as it first appeared.

I really enjoyed On a Night Like This. It has far more than many romantic novels, with two almost separate storylines: the relationship between Fran and Juliette developing at the start, and then Fran’s night at the Crystal Ball and what follows. Although there were times when Fran could be a little irritating, that adds to her charm, and she’s a character you want to succeed.

Overall, the story is entertaining and funny and a great read,

I thoroughly enjoyed the charming 'On a Night Like This'.

It is lovely, escapist, fun with some great comic lines. I realised that on occasion I was grinning at my kindle!
I defy you not to hear Kylie singing the title as you read it!

I am a massive fan of the author, although I love my dark thrillers I do love a good rom com every now and then. And books like this are the reason why. It takes you away from relatively…… I cannot begin to tell you how funny and uplifting this story is I almost wet myself laughing. When we follow Fran on an incredible journey.

OMG Fran what a character you know we all have that one special friend in our life and Fran is that person. She is strong headed, funny, hardworking, kind, genuine she freaky awesome and I would love a night out with her. Fran makes this book what it is. I adored the book and I adored her. Rebel Wilson springs to mind, I think she could play Fran easily if this was made into a movie.

So I started reading this book and a few chapters in I could visualise it has a film. So I decided to get the audio and listen to it instead. My feeling was right and I sure as hell wasn’t disappointed. What can I say but I loved the audio even more. The narrator has done a tremendous job telling this story. It felt like I was watching a movie. I didn’t need a screen and people acting because the descriptions were perfect and made me feel right there in the story. I ended up listening to this in one day, I couldn’t get enough of it. Honestly it is so, so good!

On a Night Like this is a magical, modern day fairy tale that will make you smile, laugh and pull on your heart strings. With a beautiful setting. What more can I say other than….

I Heart Lindsey Kelk and this book is simply incredible

This was the first book I have read by this author & I will definitely be checking out her others as I absolutely loved this.
A really fun light engaging story that will make you chuckle with a side of romance what more could you want.
I couldn't put it down Lindsey Kelk has a real flair for story telling that is truly light hearted, funny & enjoyable.
This is so much more than a romance as that's not the main focus in this book & there were plenty of laugh out loud moments.
Fran who is stuck in a rut both in her job & her life as Stew her fiance doesn't want her traveling for work any more.
Unhappy at home she takes a mysterious 5 day job thinking the break will help her make some big decisions she has been putting off.
Fran starts the short term job as PA to to Juliette a star who is more than a little high maintenance & is left wondering what she has let her self in for.
This is escapism at it's best it was a truly fun read for me .

A wonderful read! I don’t think I’ve read a Lindsey Kelk book that I haven’t loved. A heartwarming story that provides a lovely escapism that you get swept along with.
The characters worked well in the story and the romance and glitz and glamour added a beautiful sparkle to the story.

A fun read, with two very different worlds colliding as ordinary Yorkshire lass Fran takes on a five day job working for a rich and difficult celebrity and finds herself on a yacht, sneaking into a charity ball, and falling for a rich and mysterious stranger. Can she go back to her humdrum life as a temp, engaged to the wrong man and living in his nan's house for the rest of her life? Lots of humour, drunken silliness, glamour, and the hint of romance as Fran finally takes charge of her own destiny.

On a Night Like This was such a great read. Personal Assistant Fran is sent to look after singing superstar Juliette and uses it as an excuse to run away from her messy personal life. Whilst things go from bad to crazy, Fran meets Evan and starts to rethink everything she thought she wanted from her life. I love this author so knew I would love this. Another great book from Lindsey Kelk!

Fabulous, fun and festive.

On A Night Like this sees Fran escape her humdrum life in Sheffield for a job as PA to a glamourous celebrity. Leaving behind rain soaked England for a stay on a luxury yacht and a chance to attend an Uber exclusive Christmas Party in Italy. Where she meets a mysterious handsome stranger. This is a story of transformation and an exploration of the idea that all that glitters is not necessary gold.

A great relaxing light read with a slice of girlie humour on the side. I liked Fran and related to all of her references, some of side the characters were underdeveloped but the settings were beautiful.

Perfect with hot chocolate & marshmallows

Absolutely loved this book. Couldnt put it down. Lindsey Kelk has a gift for storytelling. You wont go wrong picking up a book of hers. Fran Cooper is muddling along in life engaged to Stew who she has been with since their university days. In need of some work Fran jumps at the chance to become a personal assistant to a celebrity for 5 days. Its well paid and Fran is in need of a change of scenery.
Its all very secretive with Fran having to sign a NDA before she has even been hired. After passing the interview Fran is given some clothes then whisked off to the airport to catch a flight to Italy. She cant believe her eyes when she sets foot on the luxury yacht The Songbird. What ensues after will have you laughing. Fran is about to have her world changed , if she is brave enough to take the risk.
Highly recommended for all fans of Lindsey Kelk and romantic comedies. Grab a drink and find somewhere comfy this is one book you wont want to put down.

Within days of wishing she could change her life, Fran Cooper is acting assistant to a celebrity, on a yacht in the Mediterranean, and en route to a tiny Italian island and the glittering Crystal Ball, along with the world’s rich and famous.
And while not everything in her new role goes precisely to plan, when she – quite literally – bumps into a handsome American called Evan, a man able to keep his cool in the face of chaos, the magic really begins.
Evan makes her a promise: no last names, no life stories, just one unforgettable night. Wearing a designer dress and drinking champagne, Fran is a million miles away from ordinary life.
And that’s the problem: Evan belongs at the Crystal Ball and Fran is a gatecrasher. They may be soulmates, but their homes are an ocean apart, and their lives a world apart. They’ll never meet again – unless, on a night like this, everything can change forever…

Heart warming and funny novel with a great storyline, I had to keep reading and couldn’t wait to get to the conclusion and understand what happened to all the characters. This would make a great movie as well I think! Well recommended. I’d love to read more from the author including a followup novel – bring it on Lindsay.
Thanks for NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

#BookRec ✨ On A Night Like This by Lindsey Kelk 📖⠀

🌟 So I read it on Netgalley (ad~pr product) but it was just so totally immersive, funny & romantic *still swooning!* I just had to get a copy for my bookshelf.⠀
🌟 The magic that Kelk writes with is always special to read but I she has aced it this time surpassing my very high expectations knocking the top spot off In Case You Missed It as my new favourite.⠀
🌟 Fran is such a relatable character it was a joy to watch her growth throughout this novel.⠀
🌟 Filled with giggles from the glamorous crystal ball to the unglamorous Sheffield. The balance between humour & romance is perfect! The disco ball had me crying with laughter & did mention a very swoon-worthy leading man!! 😍😍😍⠀
🌟 Lindsey please tell me we get to know what happens next in Frans story?

This was my first Lindsey Kelk book and I really enjoyed it, it was lighthearted and fun but with some serious issues and who doesn’t in all honesty want to spend some time on a super yacht and virtually attend an amazing party.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

On a Night Like This was a great read. I was hooked from the first few pages! Personal Assistant Fran is sent to look after singing superstar Juliette and uses it as an excuse to run away from her messy personal life. Whilst things go from bad to crazy, Fran meets Evan and starts to rethink everything she thought she wanted from her life. It’s a well written, amusing read and I would recommend it to everyone. With Cinderella feels, it’s the perfect love story. Another great book from Lindsey Kelk!

Yes, this is a romcom, but it’s a romcom with a difference. The ‘rom’ doesn’t even enter the story until over half way through the book. The ‘com’ is there from the beginning, though. I love the slightly mad quips Francesca comes up with – daft stuff you could image Claudia Winkleman saying.

Through Francesca’s experiences from the ordinary to the glamourous and back again, I was rooting for her all the way.

Fun, funny and refreshingly different.
