Thank you for NetGallery for providing me with this for review.

This is the first book I've read from this author, I loved her writing style and the more I read the more I felt I was there in Cornwall watching all of the characters lives unfold

A lovely Christmas read, definitely one to read wrapped in a blanket with your Christmas lights on.

Christmas Carols and a Cornish Cream Tea is the fifth book in Cressida McLaughlin's Cornish Cream Tea series. Meredith Verren works in the gift shop, Cornish Keepsakes, in the picturesque Cornish tourist town of Port Karadow. Although Meredith loves her job she's not keen on Christmas and everything it brings, but will that change with the arrival of Finn?

This is a tale packed to the rafters with glitter, cosiness and festive cheer. There are twinkly lights, parades, carol singing, gingerbread baking, parties and celebrations galore so if you are a tad bah humbug, consider yourself warned! If you adore Christmas or just want to get in the mood this would be a perfect choice for you. You may wish you were spending Christmas at Port Karadow by the end. Community spirit, family and friendship are prominent in this evocative and sweet story. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from HarperCollins via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Meredith has only ever wanted to avoid the Christmas without wearing that dressed jumper.

This years she's been enlisted to everyone seasonal hampers wishes so she's gotta get that holiday smile and muster it up. Enter my handsome Finn whom adores Christmas.
It a cute love story. The relationship developed between Finn and Meredith I loved it.

I thought this was going to be a bit predictable but I was wrong. This was a great novel to curl up with and think of Christmas. Well written and very descriptive and well worth 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this e ARC

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another good book in the series.

Meredith hates Christmas but works in a Cornish tourist shop that is trying to up their takings with Xmas hampers. Finn then arrives in town and tries to bring Meredith round to loving Xmas. Will Finn succeed or will Meredith stay be the Xmas Scrooge?

My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for a copy of “ Christmas Carols And A Cornish Cream Tea “ for an honest review.
I hadn’t read any other books in this series but I was drawn to read this because of the setting and title.
A decent enough festive read , but for some reason I didn’t love it , so I am only giving it an average mark.

I really did like this book but there were far too much plot strands for the length of the book making everything feel too contrived, without a lot of natural flow and rushing from one event to the next. No sooner than a scene was set it was over and we were off to the next part.
I did love the way Meredith's back story unfolded though and wished that the rest of the book had progressed at the same pace. There were lots of great characters that we never really got to know properly, I do hope that this will become a series and that we'll find out more about the rest of the village

Another stunning book in the Cornish Cream Tea series. Full of festive warmth, music, dogs and with some new characters. Loved it!

This was my first Christmassy read of the year and it definitely didn't disappoint!

This was a perfect Christmas book and it gave me all the feels. I do normally save my Christmas books for December but I'm glad I made the exception for this one.

I loved the characters of Meredith and Finn and definitely Crumble the dog 😍😍

Even though the book starts off with Meredith hating Christmas I was constantly hoping she would change her mind and I thought the way her relationship with Finn slowly developed was beautiful to read about.

I did find the first half of the book a bit slow going but only because I was impatient to find out what was going to happen.

Definitely one to recommend for the festive season.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me.

This is the latest book in the Cornish Cream Tea series but the action moves in this book from Porthgolow to the nearby town of Port Karadow, where we meet a new character, Meredith, who is not a big fan of Christmas. This is a bit of a disadvantage when she works in a gift shop and is in charge of pushing and promoting products for the Christmas season. When her neighbour has her house decorated like the outside of the Rockefeller Centre and her best friend is planning the Christmas light display for the town. Christmas is everywhere, and there is no avoiding it, however much she might try.

There is nothing more delightful than a Christmas book set in Cornwall, and Cressida has milked the opportunities presented by this premise to the max. This book is bedecked with as much glitter, cosiness and festive cheer as you could possibly hope for, it is the knobbliest, fullest Christmas stocking of a book that you could possibly pick up and will get you perfectly in the mood for the Christmas season. There are lights, parades, carolling, parties and celebrations galore and you’ll wish you were spending Christmas at Port Karadow by the end of it.

On top of this, Meredith meets a man who charms, thrills and infuriates her all at the same time. Finn has come into Meredith’s life to teach her the real meaning of Christmas and show her that she can enjoy this time of year if she just starts to look at it differently. But Finn has issues of his own, can Meredith help him in return? I absolutely loved the way the relationship developed between Finn and Meredith. I was completely in love with both of them by the end of the book, to the point where I had a real lump in my throat and a tear in my eye at the denouement of the book.

This was only very loosely connected to the Cornish Cream Tea series, and for me this book had a different feel from the previous ones, but this isn’t a negative thing, it is nice to see Cressida taking the books in a fresh direction and I really enjoyed the new characters and setting introduced here. I am really looking forward to seeing what comes next since, in a recent interview, Cressida has confirmed that there are more stories to come in this series. Who wouldn’t want to pay more visits to the beautiful Cornish coast for more romantic encounters?

I wasn't sure about this book to start - I didn't like either of the main characters initially, but as the book progress it caught me up in the festive spirit, and buy the end I loved them both, but I think that may have been the whole idea where you feel their growth and start rooting for them. I don't normally like Christmas books in November but this book has me humming Christmas tunes and thinking about digging my tree out of the loft!

The Cornish Cream Tea Christmas by Cresida McLauglin.
The Cornish Cream Tea series, Book 3.
Hannah Swan is looking forward to Christmas for the first time in years. Her new job as an eco-consultant is taking her – and her geeky colleague, Noah – to the beautiful Cornish village of Porthgolow for the first time.
They’re are helping the Crystal Waters Hotel to ramp up its green credentials, though after a bumpy journey, Hannah can’t shake off the feeling that Porthgolow is strangely familiar. Never able to resist a mystery, her interest is piqued when the hotel’s staff and customers report odd noises and sightings, believing the hotel to be haunted.
When bad weather cuts off Porthgolow, Hannah and Noah are looking at a Cornish Christmas. It gives them plenty of time to work out what is really going on, but will their yuletide escape send shivers up their spines? Or will it be as warm and toasty as a glass of mulled wine?.
I loved this book. Characters story were great. and the scenes were amazing. 5*.

Meredith Verron really doesn’t like Christmas. All she wants is to be on her own, get through the season and come out the other side.
Unfortunately, her job in a Cornish Gift shop means she has to at least pretend to enjoy it.
Then she bumps into newcomer Finn who loves Christmas and is determined to show Meredith what she is missing. Being part of a choir and making up Christmas Hampers isn’t the best way to avoid Christmas but can Finn help Meredith to truly embrace the season or is it too late for the self confessed Grinch.
A lovely story of friendship, love and the meaning of Christmas.

Took me a couple of chapters to get into this book but once I did it was a delight. Meredith’s dislike of the Christmas period is slowly changed partly due to the arrival of Finn and also due to Meredith’s love of where she lives. I was definitely feeling in the mood for Christmas by the end!

This is a gorgeous, cosy Christmas read. It will definitely make you feel festive.
This is part of the Cornish Cream tea series of books, but it is definitely more of a standalone book. Charlie and Gertie only make a cameo appearance. It is set in a different village with lots of new characters.
I loved the way that Meredith threw herself into the Christmas celebrations, even though she hated Christmas and all of the festivities that go with it.
I really enjoyed reading this book, I loved the new location and characters and it would be wonderful if there were more books that were set here.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

When her boss at ‘Cornish Keepsakes’ injures himself, Meredith is tasked with delivering personalised Christmas hampers to the VIPs of her village. Meredith is not a fan of the holiday season, but she begrudgingly agrees to do so.

Finn, who has escaped his hectic life in London and is trying to find out what he wants from life, offers his help. Finn loves Christmas, and his enthusiasm clearly rubs off on Meredith.

She re-discovers the joy of Christmas and sees how she might have missed out on things. She helps her friend Anisha save the town’s Christmas lights festival, she sings a solo during the choir’s Christmas concert and most of all she really enjoys the time she spends with Finn.

I didn't realise this was book 5 in the Cornish Cream Tea-series but didn't get the feeling I missed out on anything. Charlie from the Cornish Cream Tea Bus does make a cameo, but you can easily read this book as stand-alone.

I absolutely loved this book, it’s a warm, uplifting, feel-good story!

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for my free copy in exchange for my honest unedited review.

I have loved this series and this fifth in the series is well up to standard. In this one, you move a little further away from Porthgolow, to the nearby Port Karadow and the stunning Charmed Cove. We concentrate on Meredith's story and the gorgeous Finn who she meets. I loved both of those characters, so I am really hoping that we meet up with them again in Book 6. This felt like perfect festive reading. Despite the fact that Meredith hates Christmas and everything associated with it, you still get a sense of the season and the beautiful Cornish setting which I am sure is sparkling away.

You do get to meet up again with Charlie and her Cornish Cream Tea Bus but there are lots of interesting characters who appear during the story. Crumble, Meredith's puppy, is delightful and adds a real homey feel to the story. Both Meredith and Finn have something to offer the other and, in some ways, seem to mature a little as the book develops. This is a warm, entertaining read which captures the season and leaves you wanting more.

In short: Can Meredith discover festive joy?
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book
