Loved the relationship that develops between Merry and Finn, as Merry tries to find a little bit of a festive spirit whilst helping her new employer have the most successful Christmas ever.

I enjoyed the story but did feel disappointed that this is book 5 in the Cornish Cream Tea bus series but is only featured very briefly.

Basically, it was a lovely story about grief and letting it go, about wonderful friendship and relationships. But it was – sadly – dragging on a lot. In the first 40% almost nothing happened, to be honest, and then the pace was still moderate, let’s say. The whole story wasn’t filled with action, occasionally happened something, taking the plot on the much higher level and then letting it fall again. I’m not saying it was a bad book, because it wasn’t, I loved the moments when the characters eventually interacted with each other, spoke to each other, the dialogues were brilliant and Meredith’s were brilliantly funny and sharp, I was waiting for them, however they were rather difficult to find among the long, long, long descriptions and inner monologues.

I can’t believe it is already 5th book in The Cornish Cream Tea series! It was lovely to see some of the characters from the previous books, even if those were only short cameos, but nevertheless I always had to smile at the mention of them. However, it can absolutely be read as a stand – alone, introducing us to a bunch of new and believable characters.

It was a lovely, heart – warming and sparkly read, showing that we really should dare to follow our dreams and set in the most beautiful place.

This was a nice cosy Christmas tale and I enjoyed the Cornwall setting . Slightly predictable at times however I feel like it’s the sort of book to read on a rainy Sunday with some chocolate .

A trip to Cornwall at Christmas time is just what I needed. This book is full of Christmassy cheer even if Meredith is unsure of where her Christmas spirit is. Her adventures with Finn to try and recapture the magic were wonderful, and as in the other Cornish Cream Tea stories Cressida McLaughlin has written the perfect mix of fun, romance and of course the seaside.

Another fabulous Christmas story where a small Cornish town comes together to celebrate Christmas in style. The characters were so appealing especially Crumble the puppy. It was so easy to become part of the story, which was very emotional in parts. There was a tremendous feel good effect by the end..

I was almost put off reading this by its title but I'm very glad that I looked beyond that. Of all the Christmas romances that I've struggled through this year Christmas Carols and a Cornish Cream Tea by Cressida McLaughlin is the best. It's peopled by characters who exist in a moderate place on the personality scale and live in a village that may be charming but is not quaint. Meredith and Finn's relationship develops quickly (it is a romantic novel when all's said and done!) but it's believable. In this genre there is always an axe to fall on the relationship but this one was handled well and was not, in fact, the crushing blow these things usually are. If you're looking for some Christmas spirit that hasn't been smothered in tinsel and sentimentality then I'd strongly recommend this.

Utterly fabulous! Full of Christmas cheer and atmosphere.it has a great variety of characters and the story moves at a good pace, keeping the reader’s interest. I fell in love with Finn from the first moment he was introduced. I loved the humorous exchanges between him and Meredith, and the way their relationship developed was well written and very entertaining. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a must read if you love Christmas and a good romance. Another success from Cressida McLaughlin.

I adored this book! I’ll be honest, when I first started it I felt slightly deflated that it was set in a new town with new characters as I had grown attached to the characters from the earlier books. This feeling didn’t last long though as the new characters were all lovely and the story was so Christmassy! I’m actually hoping that future books might feature these new characters now. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a perfect bit of Christmas sparkle to brighten up their day.

I always enjoy this author’s books and this one definitely lived up to expectations.

Christmas is a magical time of year but Meredith doesn’t agree. So when she meets Finn on a cold Cornish beach, he is determined to show her the joys that Christmas can bring. With Finn by her side will Meredith finally find her Christmas spirit?

A lovely feel good festive story which was an entertaining and enjoyable read.

A truly sweet and enjoyable story. I fell in love with Meredith and Finn and how their relationship develops, the twists that make them linked for far longer than they thought.
It gave me the festive giddies and made me want a mulled wine and some carols.
A great read that I didn’t want to end. Lucky I just heard there are more books in this series!

This was the first of this authors books I have read and am so pleased others recommended I read these books. This was book 5 in the series but could be read as a stand alone like I did. This was the perfect escapism read whilst having believable characters and a true to life story line.

This was a happy feel good read with the moral that everyone should
Do the things that make them happy and follow their heart and dreams rather than just doing things to please others and to make others happy. This was a story of love loss and friendship with a massive sprinkling of Christmas on top and perfect for getting you in the Christmas spirit it would be the perfect cosy read to curl up with on a dark and cold winters night with a hot chocolate in hand. I would love a sequel to this to find out how Finn and Meredith's journey continues

I am looking forward to reading other books by this author.

I have a beach, my favourite place in the whole world. A place I can just be, a place I can sea swim.
Meredith, is similar to me in those respects, but I love Christmas -everything about it. Meredith does not.
When Meredith meets Finn on the beach in the lead up to Christmas he tries to teach her all the good things about Christmas, the things she has given up to her grief.
I loved this book and highly recommend it to everyone.
Find your happy place, the one place you can just be!

Oh my I loved it. One of those books you thought about when not reading it. Can Cressaida write a bad book. Meredith hated Christmas and it was great through art and love she found it. Ace to be back in Cornwall.Loved how out door swimming helped her. A perfect ending. Excellent book

Another gentle read by Cressida McLaughlin. .The characters are all extremely likeable and some are not without their problems. This book is a good clean romance which builds up slowly amidst stories of both the main characters and supporting characters too. I almost felt that I knew the town and the people in it. A real feel good story for the lead up to Christmas.
