For any fans of British crime this book is right up your street, DI Denning and seconded DS Fisher become the modern day Sweeney to solve the case of a serial killer loose in London. Gripping from start to finish with the usual twist and turns this book kept me happily hooked on every word. Maybe the start of a new series? The characters and settings were well thought out and explained well through the story line. Thank you #NetGalley for the audiobook to review.

I started listening to this book on a very hot, sweaty day and the book only made me feel hotter (with anticipation I hasten to add) a good police procedural with twists and turns, I liked the characters and the story flowed really well and I am not really a listener of books with the police leading the tale, good narration albeit took me a while to get used to the cadence

During a relentless heatwave, London DI Matthew Denning lands the murder of a young woman found butchered in a public park. It turns out the woman had some dangerous friends, could they be the reason for her demise? But then a second woman is found dead in almost identical circumstances. But it’s DS Molly Smith who makes the connection to the Bermondsey Ripper, a serial killer last active ten years before. A man was caught and convicted of those crimes, he’s still in jail. So did the police get the wrong man the first time around or do they have a copycat on their hands? The first in a new series and so good I can’t wait until the next one is released. Molly and Matthew play off each other perfectly.
