I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Bit too much of a slow burn, to be honest, which I didn't expect from this line. The romance and passion took a long time to even happen, let alone develop, but it all worked once it clicked in. Thought Christos was borderline too-much at times, like when he decides he wants his wife and not just in name only, but that was somewhat to be expected, so I can't really complain. Overall, the ending felt a tad rushed, but it was a nice ride along

Christos stands to inherit his grandfather’s Greek island until his cousin comes into the picture. Christos, a lawyer has a marriage of convenience with his assistant Alexis. As the story develops the reader learns about their early life and how this has influenced their adult life.
The appearance of the cousin means that Christos and Alexis must up the tempo of their marriage, which begins to awaken desires and feelings. Can Christos get past the barriers of his past and give Alexis a true marriage that she deserves and yearns.
I felt that the story dragged a bit but then once things began to heat up and we learnt more about the character beginnings, I found it became more of a page turner.
It was a nice, easy going read with a stronger willed female character. A perfect Mills and Boon read.
Many thanks to Maya Blake, her publishers and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

A great read. Christos and Alexis marry so Christos can gain control of the family Greek island. No one knows they are married,, they just pretend to convince his family during yearly visits. Alexis has her reasons why she entered into this marriage of convenience. They have to up their fame as Christos grandfather isn’t convinced!

An emotional whirlwind
Christos is a ruthless divorce lawyer with a secret, to appease his grandfather and in an attempt to claim the private island he loved as a child, he secretly married his assistant Alexis
I liked Alexis, she is strong, confident and capable. She doesn’t let Christos walk all over her and she knows what she wants but she is also vulnerable with her hopes and fears shining through her personality making her seem more genuine to me as a character
Christos only married Alexis because it was the only way to get his grandfathers private island and I think in a way that almost sums up a big part of his character. He is ruthless and determined to get his own way, he doesn’t let other people get in the way and if he feels like they have failed him then you really don’t want to be on the receiving end of his wrath. However his ruthless exterior hides the loveable and emotionally vulnerable person that he is which really helped me to understand him more and to very quickly adore him
Both Christos and Alexis have major unresolved childhood issues that followed them into adulthood and which impact almost everything they do but I think that in a way, to me at least, this made them feel more real and genuine characters, especially as a big part of the story looks at those issues and makes them question their beliefs
I ended up getting quite emotionally involved with Alexis and Christos lives and their story and this book also has some amazing locations that I would love to visit which I think helped to pull me in even deeper!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a story with a lot of drama that will catch your attention set in some amazing locations that will have you dreaming of a holiday

The Greek’s Hidden Vows is the first book I have read from the Mills and Boon Modern series and it definitely won’t be my last! It was a quick read and perfect for the summer as its set on a beautiful Greek Island 🏝

I love a fake fiancé trope, so a hidden marriage of convenience was even more exciting. Top that with a sexy Greek Boss who is also your secret husband and there isn’t much more that you can want from a romance - it definitely ticks all the boxes.

The story was quite slow in the telling, but this really helped to build up the sexual tension between Alexis and Christos until it was burning hot!

There was some very steamy scenes but actually the story focused more on the difficult and very different upbringings that they both had and how it had a huge significance on their adult life.

Definitely one to read if you like a romance!

Christos is a divorce lawyer who must return home to fight for his family island but he needs to show that he is a dedicated family man in order to win what he wants most. Alexis is his ever present assistant who always delivers and when she first started working for him they agreed to a marriage in business only, so now she must travel to Greece as Christos' wife and prove to everyone that their love is real.

The story was ok but I found parts quite awkward with both not wanting relationships or revealing how they really felt, overall an enjoyable easy read.

The book describes the romance between a cut-throat divorce lawyer and his assistant, which starts with them marrying in secret so that his grandfather can leave him an island that he loves.

On the plus side, I really liked that the female protagonist was a strong character and not a shrinking violet as so many of M&B's heroines are (plus not an annoying virgin, which I just do not understand in this day and age!). the male protagonist's character was not too likeable and I felt that the ending was quite rushed, probably because of the writer trying to keep to the word limit prescribed by the publisher.

Maya Blake usually writes very enjoyable romances but I felt this was a little underthought and not her best effort. That said, a nice summer holiday read.

It took me a while to finish this book as it was so boring. The first 20% is nearly all about his work as a Lawyer. Then it moves to Greece.

The hero and heroine are really bland characters. There is no chemistry between them and very little emotion in the story. It takes ages for them to have sex and considering Christos is so scared of having a child, he doesn't bother using any protection and then panics she might be pregnant.

It was a chore having to read this

A grown man hurting deeply from the emotional fallout of divorced parents, not wanting to have any close lasting relationships. An orphan, whose parents are unknown, wanting a close, meaningful, loving relationship.

The two meet within their professional, working lives. To help him retain his inheritance of a private island they strike a deal. A marriage deal. For her help he will donate money to the orphanage, where she was raised.

They marry to achieve this outcome, but emotional feelings of true love, draw them closer together. The deal changes as their attraction grows deeper.

They both find that they wish these feelings were permanently part of their lives and not with the end date agreed.

True love wins through with a happy ever after ending in this emotional romantic story.

Romantic plot taking us from the big city law office to a beautiful Greek island. Christos and Alexis are married for real in legal terms but there are no emotions allowed and the ring stays in a drawer only coming out once a year for a visit to Christos’ grandfather. Both Alexis and Christos carry emotional wounds from their childhood meaning both fear love and abandonment. The book shows how both characters explore whether they can overcome what they see as missing in themselves. The author takes us on a journey with the married couple and we feel along with them what they are going through.

In order for Christos to inherit the island he considers his childhood home, he sets up a marriage of convenience with his assistant Alexis. He has no interest in marriage or fatherhood and she has no interest in relationships so on the surface it seems like a perfect arrangement...

I love the marriage of convenience trope and all the elements in the story were ones that I normally enjoy but I did not believe their chemistry. There was a certain spark that was missing. The greek words that were interwoven in the story were a nice touch but not knowing the meaning of some of the words was a bit frustrating.

*I was given an ARC in return for a honest review*
