I blew through this book while on vacay. It follows three women and their journey in meeting the one. Julie Canon is one of my favorite authors and I thoroughly enjoy her books. This was no exception, I just hope that there is another book coming down the road.

This book follows the individual adventure of Addison, Sam and Cora as they travel to their destination of choice to volunteer as part of a program organised by their company. Although all they plan to do is volunteer and have a bit of fun, love is thrown into the mix and neither of them were prepared for it.

This is a fast read, it was also quite entertaining in parts. However, I found it hard to connect with the characters or believe their chemistry and the epilogue was too unrealistic.

A great, laid back summer read. Perfect for by the beach or pool, 3 fun short stories that are very enjoyable and easy to read.
I enjoyed the writing style and found it very fast paced

3 stories about women volunteering to help where needed in various parts of the world. The stories tell about how each meet "the one" and how that turns out The ending is somewhat unresolved so I'm hoping there will be a follow up book explaining more about their romances. So yes, as I'm looking for a sequel I did like the book.

This book of three short stories of the ladies of Bradbury Construction is just fantastic! I enjoy the way it is written, though it took me a minute to become a fan. The stories were entertaining and kept my attention so much so that I didn't want to so anything else! The characters were realistic and fun, sexy and smart, daring and a lot sweet.

Three executives of Bradbury Corporation under the guidance of their boss, Addison are given the opportunity to donate both time and money to a vetted cause every year. The three execs alternate and this year the three are Samantha, Addison and Cora

Sam elects to donate her time and money to the United Aid where they are helping out after a devastating hurricane. While there a gorgeous, dedicated woman catches her eye. But Sam doesn't mix business with pleasure. Also they are living in trailers in tiny beds. Over time she finds herself rescuing the gorgeous woman and they become romantic. But does a night of romance lead to more than a one night stand? How can it with Sam living in Arizona and the woman dedicating her existence to the UA?

Cora spends her month volunteering at a no kill animal shelter in the Bahamas and the money her company donated is going toward building new kennels. While there Cora finds herself wildly attracted to the kennel owner, Tyler. And Tyler reciprocates those feelings but do they mix business with pleasure? Check out the story to find out.

Finally we have Addison who has hopped over to the beautiful island of Maui to join an all women's build with Habitat for Humanity. There she helps build homes for folks using her skill set and she was able to donate the funds to make the build possible, only she is keeping the latter part a secret. While in Maui she finds herself being watched by an attractive local who randomly ends up on the build as well. They end up chatting and the immediate attraction sends them both over the edge. . .learn where things go when you read the book!

And the stories all conclude nicely in the epilogue. . .though I still want more! Maybe a book 2?

Three short stories make this one an ideal read for the beach or when your on your way to some nice relaxing vacation. And as long as you don't expect deeply fullfilling romances this is exactly the right book.
The stories revolve around 3 different executives for an all women construction company who are going for a 4 week volunteer trip of their choosing. All of them are single and ofcourse each of them meets another hot lesbian at the project they are volunteering for.
It's an insta-lust type situation for all 3 stories, which makes sense since the time span is rather limited. Still the writers manages to create the setting for each and every story and to establish a believable chemistry and connection between the main characters.

One complaint: the epilogue. Really? As a reader I would have liked a little more, now it feels kinda unresolved.

Really well done, if you're looking for a simple read this is one to put into your suitcase/on your kindle. but if you're more into heavy romance this might not give you what you want.

Thank you NetGalley, the author and publishers for the opportunity to read and review "Summer Lovin".

It's essentially three short stories/novellas and Addison Bradbury and two of her staff have a month's leave from their work and roles at Bradbury Construction to give service to needy causes. Each story follows one of them and their volunteering experience. The destinations include Samantha going to Nassau to clean up after storm wreckage, Cora goes to Jamaica to help with a dog rescue/shelter, and Addison goes to Maui to assist with building houses for Habitat for Humanity.

There are similarities and to some extent parallels. All three women are single and lesbians. Early on in each story each one is drawn to a single lesbian who is also working on their project. The sizzling chemistry for each drives the storyline and the narrative and clearly there are benefits to be had from paying it forward aka giving service to needy causes!

This isn't a heavy or intense read. It's as it says, a perfect summer read. And I agree with the author. After the year we have all had, yes, a light fluffy feel good read is great. Thank you!

Summer Lovin’ tells three stories about Bradbury Construction Company which provides their employees time off to do “pay it forward” construction-related projects in exotic locations that they can couple with vacation time. These stories focus on Samantha, Cora, and Addison who all meet special women in the countries they have traveled to for their volunteer work. The stories and characters were interesting as were the locations. 4 stars

Three novella tells the story of Cora Samantha and Addison who works at the same construction company. Their company does volunteer works each year and gives employees a chance to give back. When it’s their turn they each have a chance to give back and do something good.

This was a good read. As we follow each one they meets someone and it turns passionate but will it last. I like that this book is about paying it forward.

Summer lovin by Julie Cannon follows the story of three women, all who belong to Bradbury Construction, and their summer of volunteer work.

I’m not gonna bother to separately critique all three of these stories individually because I have the same critiques for all of them.

The characters are underdeveloped, which isn’t shocking or bothersome since you go into the story aware of its length.

The stories all focus more on physical relationships which I understand might be a problem for some people and it was a slight problem for me going towards wanting them to all end up together.

But yes, these stories all follow a “lust at first sight” line. Which I have to admit, I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Julie Cannon managed to impress the heck out of me by how she built chemistry and want off of basically no build up or previous meeting of these characters.

I have a feeling though that this may also be the impact of the person reading and their attitude towards books like these.

So if you go into this book, are short, lust at first sight and little to no romance books your type?

My one less star follows the smalls complaints of lack of setting and the epilogue.

These stories all happen on tropical vacation type islands yet there’s nothing to represent that? The authors bold choice of placing them all in culturally rich places and not even showing a hint of that is such a missed opportunity. Her only way to show that they’re in a different country is someone saying “is that normal in America?” Which is laughable if I’m going to be honest. Maybe she couldn’t do that, maybe she had a page limit and had to cut it down but god, it would not have hurt to even have the Jamaican characters make use of their internationally distinct dialects.

Maybe that’s a bit nitpicky on my part but I’ve read and enjoyed a lot of short stories and a lot of them have fulfilled me but this one kinda missed that mark especially with that epilogue.

What the hell was that epilogue? There could’ve been so much more. It could’ve been so much more epic.

The existing epilogue just missed that special something

So do I recommend this book?

I know it seemed like I had a lot of negatives but I did actually enjoy this book. Addison and Erin being my favorite of the three as they had the most entertaining teasing.

This book in my opinion is ideal if you have a lot going on and little to no time. It’s a quick in between exams/ class read and definitely smooth and entertaining.

However, much like my last review, if you’re looking for something fulfilling with fully developed characters and epilogue then no, this book is not for you.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the arc in return for a honest review!

There are three short stories, one for each of the woman that work for a construction company.
Each year the company gives employees time off to volunteer work of their choice. This year Cora will be going to Jamaica to work with an animal shelter. Samantha will be heading to the Bahamas to help clean up from a devastation hurricane.
Addison is headed to Maui to work with Habitat for Humanity.
These woman will all be working hard and not just going to show up and be a pretty face throwing money around. Along the way they will find romance and heartbreak.
These stories aren't going to end well for them as their time runs out and they must return.
This is a great book and each story has heart and interesting characters.

Addison Bradbury, Samantha Wecker and Cora Donaldson all are given time off from Bradbury Construction to do service and give back. This book includes three stories where each goes to do service for a month. The destinations include Nassau to clean up after storm wreckage, Jamaica to help with a dog rescue/shelter, and Maui building houses for habitat for humanity.

Each story includes a meeting someone and it turning to passion. The characters are good, with enough information about each that you feel you know them in a limited amount of time. I enjoyed all three stories and like that they were all related by the commonality of working together and giving service. I could have read full novels about any but my favorite was Addison (personal preference). The only downside for me is the ending. I was waiting for the author to figure out how to get the women and their love interests together and the author took an easy closure.

This is great for a summer quick read. I enjoyed it while sitting on the deck of a cabin overlooking a lake. The stories are light with no angst but they are also not overly memorable. I've read other books by Cannon and will look for future stories as well. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Book Inc., for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.
