A teen high school tale with all the angst set in a private school in Chelsea. It was refreshing to have this kind of tale set in the UK rather than America. As it's Chelsea there is glitz and glamour, bitchy, entitled cool kids and Norah and her friends who are likeable but not quite in with the crowd.
It was a good story, not as run of the mill as I thought that it would be.

I really enjoyed this book - after having no expectations. There were several strands to the story, from school rivalries to family love to Norah's father's incarceration. I felt like I missed a little bit of the back story between Ezra's family and Norah as I hadn't read the first book, but this shouldn't stop anyone who hasn't picking up the book.

Including Laurent's background and the polo was also fascinating and was something I don't think people know much about.

I would definitely recommend this book and looking forward to any sequels.

Although aimed at a younger audience, I really enjoyed this book. I hadn’t read the first book I’m the series, but it was fine as a stand-alone story.

There are bullies in all walks of life, so whether you go to/went to a school full of rich kids or a school whose students’ were less well off, Norah is a heroine that I think everyone can get behind. She experiences snobbery & bullying, as well as friendship, and comes to find more about who she truly is inside.

She’s a bit of a fish out of water, as well as dealing with some problems in her home life & her boyfriend being long distance.

I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a light YA read & I’m looking forward to reading the previous book in this series. I will also look out for the authors adult fiction.

Thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher for my free advance copy in return for an unbiased review.

I didn't realise when I started reading this book that it was part of a series but that didn't matter as I soon got to know the characters. It was an easy read that was enjoyable. The characters seemed realistic for teenagers adn I was rooting for Norah! Definitely worth a read.

This was a delightful story around the angst of being a teenager. Those that have and those that have not, the winners and the losers but also the ones who don't want to follow the crowds and manage to find a greater meaning in life.. If only they realised that is one of the pivotal moments of their lives, Great story.

Summer Term At Chelsea High….!
Summer term at Chelsea High! Enjoyable and entertaining YA reading with a nicely crafted cast of characters and engaging storylines of family, friends and relationships, all told with appropriate sensitivity, empathy and understanding. A page turning treat for the Summer from armchair or otherwise.

I actually DNF'd but I wanted to give my reason for this. It wasn't that the story was bad, I just have very different tastes recently. I did struggle with Nora and Ezra, especially as I really shipped Daniel and Nora in the first book. I got 15% into the book before DNF'ing. I felt like it was going to be a lot of 'this happened, then this happened' so I realised it just wasnt my taste.

Forever summer was a quick fluffy read that was really enjoyable!

This book was great and I loved the fluff and writing! The characters were also super realistic and I rooted for Norah throughout!

I haven't actually read the first book in this series so it was a bit difficult to understand the subplot of her father but other than that this was a brilliant read and I would recommend it if you're looking for a quick read!

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the E-arc! All opinions are my own.

An easy going read about friendships and family. I didn't realize until I started it that it wasn't the first book but quickly caught up with the characters. A great teen read about the trials of being a teenager.

This is the follow up to Chelsea High which published just over a year ago. In that book Norah and her mother had to leave their home when Norah's father is accused of fraud. His parents enroll Norah in super snobby, super expensive Chelsea High, kicking off the rest of the plot.
In this one, Norah's father is serving his prison sentence. Norah is dealing with her boyfriend being on another continent, the local Mean Girl still trying to take her down, and an arrogant new schoolmate, along with all the normal issues teens have. Norah goes through a lot in this book, and despite the ultra exclusive setting, it never feels less than completely relatable.

Personally, I didn't agree with a decision Norah makes right at the very end. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that while she can of course make up her own mind and do whatever (her author) wants, I would not have made that choice, and I feel vaguely disappointed in her. It's got to be a good sign when a book has me this involved, right?

If you're looking to read this, I'd recommend starting with the first one, but I definitely recommend these as fabulous novels for teenagers, and for anyone else!

Well I haven't read a teen book in a while.....and I loved and thoroughly enjoyed this one!!
Written with great sensitivity and insight into the world of young people and what they have to deal with emotionally and at school.
Brilliantly written, with so much to get involved with, including glamour, sport and travel being just a few. Loved the characters and locations which were very recognisable!
North Whittaker lives on a boat moored on the Thames in London, and goes to school at Chelsea High. No spoilers here!
Amazing read for the summer!
Thank you for the opportunity to read early with NetGalley.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This was a light read about family, friendships and those relationships formed whilst at high school..

Trying to get through high school, you can relate to Norah, whose learning about love and trusting people, along with being liked for you.

I felt that the story of where her father was and why have an insight to how she felt, and portrayed how the relationship was with her mother.

Enjoyable Read.

A fun YA read for summer. I didn’t realise it was part of a series but it reads fine as a stand-alone too.

I really enjoyed this book, fast paced and fun with some great characters and a fab writing style.

This is a nice story, it’s the second book but it stands fine alone. I didn’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the first one.

It’s a classic “left out kid, teenage love tale”, and is a very enjoyable easy read. Great for on a plane/beach.

My thanks to Netgalley and Rachel Quin Marketing for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review

Three and a half stars.

Norah Whittaker's life has been turned upside down. Although her parents rejected their privileged upbringings to life a more genuine life, her father was still looking for get-rich-quick schemes and has recently been sent to prison for investment fraud. Norah and her mother are still living on their houseboat, although no longer moored on the idyllic Mulberry Island, but now she goes to the very exclusive Chelsea High School, all funded by her maternal grandparents. Things are looking good, Norah has a boyfriend, Ezra, but he and his family are staying in New York pursuing specialist treatment for Ezra's little brother.

When the new school term starts we are introduced to Laurent Summer, brother to Mean Girl Coco Summers, who has been in Argentina for six months improving his polo game. Laurent is just as good looking as his sister, but also just as entitled, arrogant and condescending.

What follows is a madcap mixture of school sports (but polo not football), advertising shoots on a Greek Island for a perfume brand for which Coco is an influencer, plots involving a criminal gang and Norah's father, a love triangle, and the school play.

Imagine Mean Girls meets Mallory Towers meets Gossip Girl - if that's your vibe then I think this will be right up your street. I'm *whispers* fifty-five years old and I still enjoyed this high school romp.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Forever Summer was a beautiful book and Jenny Oliver has a way of making her characters realistic, flawed and constantly learning.

I could not put this book down and loved the romance and angst elements to it but what made this book great for me was how the characters grow and come to realise what really is important.. I enjoyed seeing how Norah continued to come to terms with being stuck in an alternate reality, in this case the wealthy school of Chelsea High, whilst juggling family issues, a long distance relationship, a mysterious threat and the attractive new comer.

A light, fun YA book which is a quick read. I did get the impression that there had been a previous book in the series which would have given some background knowledge, but that did not detract from the overall enjoyment

A light easy to read YA story about friendships, young relationships and family ties. Norah is a likeable young woman learning about love, trust and making her way in the competitive world of high school. The side story of her father seemed a strange addition to the plot but added to her worries and showed her strong relationship with her mum.

A definite thumbs up for this book in the Teens/Young adult category. I've read books by Jenny Oliver in the past but they have been always aimed at a more adult audience. It's fairly short and covers a lot of elements and emotions concerning this age group's life, plus a bit of fantasy thrown in. Fast paced enough and not too waffling to keep the younger reader's attention plus plenty they can identify with particularly the bullying aspect

Forever Summer begins just before the school's summer term. The protagonist Norah is in America visiting her boyfriend-Ezra who's family has relocated over there to search for specialist medical treatment for his brother.

On returning Norah returns to an exclusive school, Chelsea High. Norah's grandparents are very well off fund her place there, while Nora and her mother live on a canal boat and her dad is in prison, which is just another element to the plot.

Chelsea High is full of students with "emanated entitlement", they play polo and have chauffeurs driving them around arriving with their designer bags. This novel is filled with characters named Jupiper, Anoushka, Lavinia and Bettine which I found a bit to much.

The general story line begins with the teenagers auditioning to go to a trip to Greek island, to appear in an advert. In my opinion you are lead to believe they would be going away for a week or more but it turns out to be a couple off day. Norah has to remember her boyfriend stuck in America unable to be with his friends.

When they return attention shifts to the inter schools sports tournament "nothing is more important at Chelsea High and success"and then a variety performance to end the day.
Norah has been a reserve on the netball team but deep down you know she know she want to be on the team. And dreams of being on stage with he dad by her side.

Really this a novel covers some issues facing young people today bullying, first loves, jealousy, law breaking and even sport and competitiveness.

This book would not be for everyone, it covers a wide variety of issues that are loosely tied together and there are an awful lot of characters involved which is a bit distracting and confusing. But overall l still found this a ok read with enjoyable elements.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me a digital copy of the novel in exchange for an honest review.
