This book is one big whiplash. It’s clear from the beginning some of what happened to Heidi- it’s intended to be obvious. But the how and the why are complete mysteries.

This book was exceptionally well-written. All of the characters are despicable, I didn’t find a single one I liked. But it felt real (to a degree) and I felt the characters were well-written. This was a stressful but enjoyable read, and you will change your mind about the culprit no less than 50 times, and then you’ll change it again as you turn the page and find new information that makes you furrow your brow, because how could that be the answer? Don’t worry, you’ll get there.

AA Chaudhuri writes some of the worst people ever. I love it and can’t wait to read more!

There was a lot going on in this book, from many points of view. I pretty much figured out what was going to happen by page 27. I knew the who and why but not the surprise at the very end.

This book was very repetitive, that same old question going through Christie's mind over and over again.Should I tell them? Yes...no I cannot at this time, it will ruin everything...but I have to get it off my chest...maybe later I will tell them. Will they understand? No, they will think I am wretched and leave me. Nearly every chapter had something close to that in it.

I loathed every single character in this book. Not one of them had a single redeeming quality about them. They were all liars and cheaters and had hatred boiling their blood.

I wish the author had let us in on the secret and simply told the story through the young girls point of view. The book would been much more enjoyable from her point of view and I wouldn't have felt so deflated at knowing the big reveal.

The writing did suck me in I liked Chaudhuri's style and the last few chapters surprised even me so I am rounding up.

A woman whose young child was kidnapped while her attention was shortly diverted has never known a moment’s peace since. Imagine her suddenly hearing that her child is alive and well... She will do whatever it takes to find her daughter. A terrific read!

A good story but I must admit to finding so many points of views confusing. A great ending which came as a total surprise

This was a true page-turner with twists and turns until the last page! I was immediately drawn into the story of a woman who is traumatized by a mistake she made over twenty years ago. Her husband and children hold her accountable for their own trauma, and their shattered family dynamic is fascinating to watch unfold. And, that is only the tip of the iceberg in this book, which takes you on wild ride until the very last sentence.

If you like a thriller, especially one that's on the darker side, this is for you. I couldn't put it down.

This is the story of Christine, her husband Greg and children Ella and Daniel. At the centre of this is their firstborn child Heidi, who goes missing at the age of two, twenty three years ago. Ever since, Christine has tortured and punished herself and has had no closure for the loss. It soon becomes clear that someone is out to make Chrissy pay very late in the day and the question is, why??? The story is told from then and now in alternating perspectives.

The premise of this sounds good but I find it an unsavoury story which, apart from the end, becomes very predictable. There are NINE alternating points of view which is just too much and does also mean there is repetition. There are only so many times you can be told what Chrissy is like before it becomes tedious. It’s a very toxic tale which some people may like but it becomes very obvious from fairly early on who is behind the revengeful actions and I have to say they are a very blinkered and gullible family with Chrissy in particular being very slow on the uptake. I think that certain aspects of the story don’t add up, especially one persons actions that just don’t make any sense to me. The plotting becomes too messy and far fetched to buy into, I appreciate it’s fiction but there has to be an element of believability and there’s just too much going on it just becomes dizzying. The big reveal isn’t a huge surprise but the end IS a good twist though you do ask yourself why people keep things that are just so darned incriminating- but then we wouldn’t have had a good end would we??!! The ending pushes the rating from 2.5 into 3.

Overall I find this disappointing but other readers may throughly enjoy it so check out other reviews before making your mind up.

Chrissy’s young daughter disappeared over 20 years ago - an event from which she has never recovered. You would normally sympathise with Chrissy as continues to blame herself but we discover she took her eye off her toddler - prioritising a call from her lover over her child’s well-being.

Told from multiple POV, “She’s Mine” is unusual in the way that, the more is revealed, the less you like each and every single character. I found it fascinating that over each chapter, the more I learned about them, the more my dislike grew.

Packed with broken individuals, infidelity, secrets and lies, I couldn’t stop turning the pages as absolutely needed the resolution to be complete. This was especially the case because the reader is privy to much more information than any character. The ending was spectacularly dark and I did not see it coming!

A plot driven read by A.A. Chaudhri did anything but lack plot. Characters who have a story to tell. Characters who help the story develop. Kudos to She’s Mine.

She's Mine by A.A. Chaudhuri is a psychological thriller that explores the dark side of marriage, infidelity, and motherhood. For the world, Christine had it all: a good and devoted husband, a successful career, and stunning looks. However, there was a void that only her lover, who was not her husband, could fill. The physical attraction between Christine and her lover was so strong that she could not resist this raw magnetic attraction. Although she knew it was wrong, she continued the affair even after giving birth to her first child -- a beautiful daughter named Heidi. Then, one day, this bundle of joy, her daughter, was abducted while she was busy talking to her lover on the phone. Two decades and two more kids later, the guilt of losing her two-year-old daughter still gnawed at her to the verge of consuming her. Both Greg (Christine's husband) and Christine dealt with the pain of never finding out what happened to Heidi in their own ways. While Greg threw himself to work, Christine shut herself off. The unavailability of their parents turned Ella and Daniel, their two kids, into seriously troubled adults. They blamed not only their mother but also their missing sister, Heidi, for their disturbing childhood that was devoid of a mother's love. But, when someone starts dropping notes claiming to know Heidi's whereabouts, their lives dramatically change.

The abduction of a child is a very sensitive topic for any parent; A.A. Chaudhuri has done a commendable job of tastefully expressing the pain, grief, guilt, and trauma that follows such a heartbreaking incident. With Christine, this guilt increased multifold since she made the mistake of turning her back on her child while talking on the phone -- that, too, to her lover, of all people. Christine's pangs of conscience dripped through her every thought. Whether the audience blamed her for Heidi's disappearance or not, they could feel the remorse that Christine felt every breathing moment of her life. A.A. Chaudhuri has an innate ability to express her characters' emotions in a relatable manner. Since this is a psychological Thriller, understanding the functioning of the brain becomes all the more fascinating and important. The author succeeds in this area with flying colors. Nevertheless, the repetition of Christine's guilt and almost every character's hatred toward her resulted in a tedious reading. Furthermore, it was unnerving to see everybody bashing Christine for not showing her kids with affection, yet give a clean-chit to Greg who, on account of throwing himself to work, was also mostly absent. Page after page, Christine was badmouthed, while Greg was presented as a Saint. A diverse opinion of the characters could have stimulated the audience and made for a mindful reading.

The intrigue to find Heidi and clever twists of the plot saved She's Mine. Even though the author left enough breadcrumbs for the readers to guess the conspirator, she still kept some major twists close to her heart. With each hint toward the troublemaker, the audience sat holding their breath, disgusted, perplexed and transfixed. The book has sexual scenes, and therefore, is suitable for a mature audience. Once you start flipping the pages of She's Mine by A.A. Chaudhury, you will want to know how it ends. In She's Mine, A.A. Chaudhuri has woven a story of grief, heartbreak, and guilt by using fragile threads of friendship, marriage, and parenthood. The storytelling has a gripping quality that will excite and attract psychological thriller readers.

Christine’s daughter was taken 20+ Years ago and now she holds a note that says her daughter is alive. This story is full of unexpected twists and turns; a story I couldn’t put down until I found out who, what, where and why. Well written, intriguing and full of suspicion, this book is just the beginning for such a talented author - I can’t wait to read more of the author’s future work.

An intricately plotted psychological domestic noir concerning married couple Christine and Greg, whose first child was snatched in her pushchair over twenty years ago.

Told in first person perspectives from multiple characters, mainly Christine and Greg, also their two remaining children and various friends and acquaintances. The characterisation is really good, and very involving.

The plotting is tense, with plenty of detail in the writing and you need to pay attention. I read it over four evenings and wished I'd have the opportunity to read it cover to cover in one sitting. I think this is a book that deserves full immersion to get the maximum effect.

It is impressively intricate with the plot spinning around relationships and identities and who knew what when. The tension does ramp up through the book, but I would have appreciated more changes in pace.

So, very good overall, a book to commit to to get the most from it.

Wow! I have never read a book without one likable, redeemable character, until this one. Now having said that, it’s a good book, the plot line is crazy, yet well thought out and creatively unique. It will keep you guessing until the end!

My goodness! This book was such a roller coaster-just when I thought I had some things figured out the author threw in another twist. Twenty five years ago, young mother Christine Donovan loses her young daughter Heidi while she is shopping. Christine walked away to take a phone call and when she returns her daughter is gone. Thus begins the mystery of what happened to Heidi and why did Christine turn her back on her child. This is a suspenseful mystery that keeps the reader guessing. Highly recommend for all mystery lovers. I really enjoyed this well-written mystery!

Loved this book. The interplay between all the different characters was beautifully plotted. Kept me guessing right upto the stunning conclusion. Couldn’t stop reading. Looking forward to this author’s next book.

This book was wildly addictive. Super twisty and twisted. Less about the child abduction and more about revenge and the mother who lost her child’s life. I never saw the ending coming. I enjoyed the various points of view, timelines and short chapters kept me interested and guessing. 4/5 stars.

Being completely honest, I’m quite on the fence with this book.

I actually liked how it is written. Every chapter is written in the POV of each different character and I thought it was done well in my opinion.

The story itself had me intrigued from reading the blurb and it started off interesting and not really what I was expecting.

However, after a few chapters I did actually find myself struggling to get through it and was getting a bit bored. I appreciate that the author was setting the stage reading for a big finale but by the halfway point, I ended up in a bit of a reading slump and put it down for a few days.

I picked it back up for the second half and actually glad I did. The second half of the book comes alive and I read it in one go. The “secrets” we’re quite predictable but there is still this sense that you “could” be wrong so you are definitely intrigued to read to the end to just make sure.

Would I recommend it? Just about, yes, but there are a fair few other thrillers that I would put ahead of this one, being honest.

I'm on the fence about this one. I loved how dark it was, I'm always a fan of books like this, but the narration was definitely a choice. I didn't enjoy the second-person narrative at all, to be honest, especially not because it didn't always address the same character but different people and it was impossible to keep track of. Together with the time jumps and the different POVs I could hardly keep track of what happened, and I feel like that just wasn't necessary nor did it do the book any favors. I might have enjoyed this, but the narrative style sadly wasn't for me at all which was why I didn't.
