LOL! Well, I did it again ... read the second book in a series without having read Book 1.

Certainly doable in this case, but I do think I would have benefited from reading Book 1 ('Point of Danger,' which I've just requested from the library). In-book conversations felt like they were alluding to situations I should already know about! (And that's probably accurate. :D) But, that's my own fault. Irene Hannon is one of those authors I'll read just about anything by; "see book, will request!"

That aside, "Labyrinth of Lies" is fantastic. I'm always intrigued by undercover work, probably because it's something I sooooo wouldn't do myself! The read combined all my favorite elements of cop shows and mystery novels into one gripping book, and I loved it. I'm entirely glad there's another book already out that I can go read, because the sisters and their interactions are a hoot.

Totes can't wait for the next book in the series!

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

A great story and a great reminder for me that not all people can be trusted. It especially encouraged me to look at people in my own life and how I am relating to them what half truths are being shared.

I received an advance copy of, Labryinth of Lies, by Irene Hannon. I really like books by Irene Hannon and this one is pretty good. Going undercover in a boarding school is not what Cate thought she would be doing as a detective, but its her job. She meets her old friend Zeke, their too.

Fantastic read! It took a few chapters to start tracking all the characters but after that it was hard to put the book down.
Drugs, undercover agents, a missing school girl and boy, and a broken romantic relationship are woven into a realistic and suspenseful journey to the truth.
The main characters are well developed, suspenseful scenes are scattered throughout, and you will be guessing until the end just how deep the drug activity has infiltrated the school.

First off, Labyrinth of Lies is far better than the first book in this series by Irene Hannon. The first one turned me off to any her books but I accidentally requested to read this one! I did feel like the suspense was much better than the previous novel. However, the writing is very cringeworthy at times, especially in regards to the main characters attraction to each other and the plausibility of a 33 year old woman being able to pose as a 17 year old high school student. Also, I figured out who the key suspects were from the beginning. That being said, I did enjoy reading this book.

Cate Reilly is a detective in St. Louis County. She swore after her one and only time under cover that she would never do it again. But now it seems that her boss thinks she is the only one that can go undercover as a teenaged girl at an all-girls school and find out what happened to another girl and her boyfriend. Cate is less than happy about her assignment and even more so when she meets the new Spanish teacher to the school Mr. Martinez. Zeke just happens to be the only man that Cate has ever loved. Unfortunately Zeke left her for his career 8 years ago and Cate has never trusted another man with her heart since. Zeke is undercover for his own case at the school. Will they be able to maintain a professional relationship while their two cases collide?

Labyrinth of Lies was excellent! It was exciting from start to finish. There were so many layers to it that it kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. There was a lot of danger and a lot of romance so it definitely kept this reader interested. I loved the characters as well. Zeke and Cate were perfect together and their ability to ferret out clues and maintain their undercover status was fun to read. I admired Cate's ability to protect herself and her resourcefulness when it came time to save the day. This was a fantastic second book in the Triple Threat series and I am definitely looking forward to reading Grace's(the third Reilly sister) story.

"Labryinth of Lies" by Irene Hannon is a great mystery novel! This is the second book in the Triple Threat series. I loved the way this mystery had a little different story line than the other books I've read. This was one of those books that I had a hard time putting down and stayed up late reading. You can't help but fall in love with the main characters, Cate and Zeke.

I definitely recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys a good, clean mystery/thriller.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Labyrinth of Lies is the second in Irene Hannon’s Triple Threat series. This book centers around Cate, a St. Louis County detective and Zeke Sloan, DEA and her ex-boyfriend. Cate is roped into going undercover with the promise this will be the last time. She heads to an all-girl’s high school as a new student to delve into the disappearance of another student a few months earlier. Zeke also happens to be undercover at the same school as a long-term substitute teacher. He is investigating a drug ring with known connections to a dangerous cartel. Are their cases connected? They promise to keep the other informed on their individual cases. The danger and suspense increase as they get closer to solving the crimes. There is a lot of intrigue with a surprising twist at the end. This is a great read for anyone who enjoys mystery, suspense, and romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the final installment of the series!

Thanks go out to Revell Publishing and Netgalley for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Labyrinth of Lies is book two in Irene Hannon's Triple Threat book series. It works well as a standalone; however, with only one book before this one, I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss a thing . It's that good!

Irene is a very talented storyteller, and she definitely knows how to make her characters feel as real as the people closest to you. I honestly worried about the people in this book when they appeared to be in danger and mentally encouraged them to not take chances--except with men who are worthy of their time.

The story unfolds in a way that slowly reveals clues as to the identity of the bad guys. In the end, the book is nicely wrapped up. It is a Christian fiction; although, my only complaint would be that the characters don't lean on prayer and faith as much as some books, but Christian references do come up now and then.

Labyrinth of Lies is an excellent mystery, full of twists and turns, offering plenty of suspense, tension, subterfuge, and romance. I was hooked from the beginning. I loved the characters of Cate and Zeke and the chemistry between them. It was a hard book to put down! I look forward to the next book in the trilogy, and highly recommend this one!

I loved this intriguing story by Irene Hannon! The storyline was intriguing and main characters Zeke and Cate had great chemistry. I’ve read a lot of suspense, but this one jumped to the top of my recommend list. Grab it. You won’t be disappointed. Five stars.

I love Irene Hannons suspense books. This book I enjoyed a lot. I thought the undercover aspect of it was great and it did take me a while to figure out who the main bad character was due to there being many webs to the story.

I enjoyed Zeke and Cates journey back to each other and how they were able to support their separate missions and come together. But what I really enjoyed was Cate's friendship with Kayla. I am glad that Irene added this in and that even after everything happened, Cate still maintained her friendship.

overall a great read. Very easy to understand and enjoy.

'In the world he'd occupied for close to a decade, there had been little evidence of the Almighty's presence-or even the existence of a loving God.'

I am a huge fan of Irene Hannon. Her suspense books are great. She deftly layers on layer after layer of more suspense, thereby giving readers a more difficult time in trying to figure out the culprits. I was shocked at this one! She is very good at what she does and I never miss one of her good books.

My thanks to Revell Publishing for a copy of this book via the Net Galley platform. The opinion here is my own.

This book was not for me. I don’t really know where this Series is headed. The whole plot of this book was unrealistic and that made it really hard to invest in the story. I’m sorry, but a 33 year old woman is not passing for a 17 year old. I think there could have been a more creative way for her to go under cover. The hero of the book being a teacher while she pretends to be a student is kind of a weird line to tight rope on. I was glad they they knew each other from their past, but it still feels weird for her to meet up with him while pretending to be a student. The whole motive for going under cover was very weak in my opinion. I’m t just didn’t make any sense . I also could not handle the multiple POV changes. It was hard to follow. There were several references to things that were supposed to be “teen” phrases or items and they didn’t seem to be relevant to 2021.I also didn’t enjoy that a lot of the mystery in the plot was revealed early on by other POV’s. It really took the suspense out of this story for me! I wanted to like this book, but sadly could not recommend ot.

Cate is a police detective who fits perfectly for an undercover operation to an exclusive girls school. She is investigating the disappearance of a girl and her boyfriend. When she arrives she sees someone from her past who could easily blow her cover. Zeke is a federal agent investigating a drug ring and he too is undercover at the school. They know each other well so they help each other with information they find. There are lots of twists and turns here and it was a page turner. The characters were well developed and interesting. I always enjoy Irene Hannon books and this one was no exception.

I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Cate is asked to work undercover as a high school student at an expensive girls school after student has gone missing. On the first day of classes she meets her ex boyfriend who is a dea agent. This book captured my attention from the very beginning.

"Labyrinth of Lies" is the second book in Irene Hannon's "Triple Threat" series about a group of sisters. In this story, Cate is an undercover detective working on what she hopes is her last assignment --to find out what happened to a teenage girl who went missing while boarding at a fancy girls' school. While on assignment, she finds that one of the school's teachers is her old flame -- who is also undercover as a DEA agent. The two must balance not only their assignments, but also their feelings. As the mystery deepens and the feeling grow stronger, Cate and Zeke must learn how to rely on each other again.

I thought this was a great addition to the "Triple Threat" series, and I'm excited to read the next and final book! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Labyrinth of Lies is the second book in the Triple Treat series and follows undercover detective Cate, who is investigating a disappearance from an all-girls boarding school. Her assignment is full of twists and turns, including the discovery that her former romantic partner, Zeke, works at the school. Despite their past, they will have to work together to find out who is behind all of the suspicious activities.

This is my second Irene Hannon novel, and I just can't get enough at this point. My first Hannon read was a romance novel, but with the title "queen of romantic suspense" in the book summary, how could I not check out Labyrinth of Lies? This book is fast paced and full of suspense from start to finish. The plot is great, and Cate and Zeke's adventures will hold the reader's attention throughout the entirety of the book. And what an ending, seriously! Captivating and well-written, Labyrinth of Lies is another great book for fans of clean mystery novels.

Thanks to Netgalley and Revell for this ARC; this is my honest and voluntary review.

Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon is classified as a romantic suspense novel. My favorite part of the novel was the unique setting. It reminded me a lot of the movie, Never Been Kissed by Drew Barrymore, which I love. However, this time, the hero and heroine have a past that was never really resolved. Because of this, the tension fizzles on the page. The setting of an all-girl school was different. However, the Mexican drug mystery element is a little overdone, in my opinion. Once a reader has read this type of story, usually they have read them all. There is not much difference in the plots. Similarly, the romance takes over the mystery element. The mystery is still there, but it seems to take a backseat to the suspense, which is what I read these type of stories for. Overall, Labyrinth of Lies really did not capture my attention. I was pretty bored reading it and kept calculating in my head how many more pages I had left to go until it was finished. If the reader enjoys 70 percent romance and 30 percent suspense, this story might be right up their alley.

I received a complimentary copy of Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
