I love Irene Hannon and she has been an auto-buy author for me for many years. After reading Point of Danger (the first book in the Triple Threat series), I was excited to read the rest of the series. And I was not disappointed at all.

This was a fantastic book. I loved the suspense and of course the romance. The concept of this book is a unique one that I haven’t read before which was great.

One of the things I love about Irene Hannon’s books is the way she uses multiple perspectives, not just the romantic leads. It’s great to hear from the “bad guy” and other characters who are caught up in the crime. I love that it is never extremely obvious who is bad who is good and who has just been caught up with bad decisions.

So if you love romantic suspense books then you will want to read this book.

Labyrinth of Lies was exactly what I expected from Irene Hannon--guy and girl in law enforcement, girl ultimately gets in peril, guy and girl get back together romantically......and the book ends in a proposal. CAN IT PLEASE DEVIATE FROM THAT NORM SOMETIMES?! I want it too. I enjoy suspense, I really do. But there was even less of a Christian focus in this book than her others. I found that disappointing as well.

This is the second book in as many weeks that I have read centered around the opioid epidemic in this country. Is that bad, no. But if it starts to be a pattern, it really could feel like it is cashing in on other's addictions. Perhaps some royalties should go towards helping crisis centers and rehab facilities.

BUT I did guess who the kingpin was quite quickly. There was a throwaway line in the book that, in my opinion, made it very obvious.

Still, I enjoyed the book. And I am thankful to Netgallley for an Advanced Review Copy to dive into.

Cate is done with undercover work, but her boss says one more time. Zeke is done with travel for the DEA, but he has one last job. Oh, and did I mention Cate and Zeke were once in love? The two come together, quite by accident or is it providence? Cate's character is strong and determined, Zeke has a kind and brave heart. In the midst of discovering the head of the biggest drug runners in St. Louis, the two must sort out their feelings toward each other. Well written and intriguing, Hannon delivers another edge of your seat suspense. The all-girls school was an unusual setting and added an interesting twist to the story. I was happy to continue on the journey of Cate and her sisters. If you enjoy suspense and romance, you'll want to read Labyrinth of Lies. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon is the second book in the Triple Threat series. It can be read as a stand alone, although I highly recommend the previous book as well. The two main characters are both undercover in a high school setting in St. Louis, Missouri. One posing as a teacher, the other as a student - both working different cases. The suspense is high - you aren't sure who can trust who. Irene Hannon does an excellent job of leading the reader on an engaging roller coaster through the pages of this mystery. While some plots are easy to figure out, it keeps you on your seat and guessing on others. It packs a bit of mystery, suspense and romance all together in a tale of whose really telling the truth or who is the murderer. It's like a game of clue!

An AWESOME second book on this series. I was hooked from the start trying to figure out who was who and I was not disappointed. There was enough twists and turns to keep me interested and also rooting for Zeke, the love interest/good guy. I can't wait for the next installment.

Cate is again asked to work undercover in this second in a series. Christian based suspense without being preachy, I enjoyed the romantic connections equally with the police investigation. While there was never any doubt how the book would end, it certainly was fun getting there.

Irene Hannon has done it again, and I was quickly page turning for answers. I felt I knew what was happening and whom was involved, but found myself blindsided.

Obviously, what we see is not always true and a Police Detective who is 33 years old can be seen as a 17 year old high school student, and the Spanish Teacher is really DEA, can these two pull it off? We watch as things unfold, and hope that these criminals can be brought to justice.

We have a cameo visit from Cate's sister Eve, and younger sister Grace, and hope to have another visit with all of them again soon!

Labyrinth of Lies is a very well written romantic suspense. A great plot with many twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. Ms. Hannon is one of my favorite authors and she has delivered another great book. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.

This book was amazing. I was drawn in immediately and didn't want to put it down.
I was excited to get to read Cate's story. I found her intriguing in the previous book. She is such a strong character and I love the way she and Zeke play off eachother.
I highly recommend this book.

Irene is one of my comfort reads, and while I have been just a TINY bit disappointed in her last few releases, she is back to her absolute best in this second book in the Triple Threat series!!

The concept of both MCs being undercover cops was intriguing, especially in the supposedly ‘safe’ setting of an exclusive all-girls boarding school, and that plot! Man, did she trick me good!!! I was merrily reading along, confident that I’d worked everything out and - to be perfectly honest - slightly disappointed that the story was so predictable… when I got totally blindsided by a twist, and, um, it turned out I was totally on the wrong track the whole time!! So massive brownie points for so completely fooling me!!!!!! That’s not an easy thing to do! So, SO good!!

And the characters were so fun too! I’m a huge fan of second chance romances, so Cate & Zeke’s storyline was always going to win me over, but wow! The sparks definitely fly! And they’re both such interesting and complex characters.

I definitely recommend! It has been officially added to the comfort reread list!!

Labyrinth of Lies is the second book in the in the Triple Threat trilogy. This book could be read as a stand alone and it features the eldest sister Cate. She is a detective for the St. Louis County police department and goes undercover in an all girls school. She encounters her long lost love of her life at the school who is working his own case for the DEA. Their work intertwines and so does their feelings for each other. This is great thriller romance and I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to sister Grace's story next.

I was surprised throughout the book. As the characters find out who the drug dealers are, we do. My mouth pretty much dropped open. I enjoyed the storyline of Cate and Zeke having a past and each undercover in the same place. Really nice having someone to talk to where you can be truthful and yourself.

Labyrinth of Lies is another page-turner from Irene Hannon.

What. A. Doozy. In a good way, of course.

Hannon really knows how to pack on the suspense. From the moment Cate steps into the boarding school, I was guessing and second-guessing everyone she met.

And just when I thought I had it figured out, Hannon threw me a curveball I didn’t see coming.

As for the romance, Hannon did a great job showing the chemistry between the two. I was a little curious how she would handle the fact that Cate was undercover as a student while Zeke was undercover as a teacher. But Irene Hannon handled this well. As usual, her romantic leads show maturity and respect for one another within the course of the story. I loved how she explored the mistakes of their past without harping on it as well as exploring the forgiveness and healing they needed.

Overall, Labyrinth of Lies is a gripping story romantic suspense will love.

A richly layered novel that kept the pages flying. There's a past rich with pain between the hero and heroine, and now they are forced into the same space. Both are undercover and the risk is high that something will go permanently wrong. I guessed who the pereptrator was, but it was carried out in such a way that I had to keep reading because I wanted to be wrong. A compelling story that I deeply enjoyed.

The second in the Triple Threat series proves to be a tangled web of deceit. I liked Detective Cate's ability to blend in at the school and make friends with her roommate. Kayla, the roomate's faith and insight was refreshing. It was a little hard to believe Cate could pose as a teen. Zeke was a great uncover Spaniard teacher. The multiple characters and storylines made it hard to follow sometimes but the author did leave clues for readers to uncover the leader. I'm looking forward to the next in this series to read about Grace. Recommended!

Under Pressure

As much as I enjoyed Point of Danger, the first book in the Triple Threat series, I doubly enjoyed this one! Labyrinth of lies follows Eve’s sister Cate who is a detective. She ends up getting her second undercover assignment at a boarding school. There’s some sneaky things going on there! Through the twists and the turns, this case is anything but easy. You cannot take anything or anyone at face value in this novel. This is a solid follow up!

I’m glad that we got updates from Eve too. I love when characters make appearances in others stories. There’s so many memories that come back when you remember their story. I’m excited for the next Triple Threat book featuring the third sister, Grace! I’m sure there’s an exciting story to unfold.

I enjoyed Labyrinth of Lies just as much as Point of Danger, the first book in this new series by Irene Hannon. In my humble opinion, her books just keep getting better and better! Every time I think I have a new favorite of hers, she writes a new book and I love it just as much as her previous ones.

The things I loved about this book are the fact that Zeke and Cate knew each other years ago and still had feelings for each other, the whole undercover aspect of the story, and the fact that this is a good, clean read. I'm looking forward to the third and last story in this series.

Anyone who enjoys a clean, romantic suspense will enjoy Irene Hannon's latest.

Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon is a typical Christian romantic suspense novel: Fast-paced. A crime of some variety forces two characters together who have a…complicated history. One, never truly gave up on the relationship, even with a broken heart in the mix. The other, wishing after eight years that the past would stay in the past. Mix in missing teens, drugs, and an all-girls private school, and you’ve got yourself a mystery! One that seems like it should be explosive. For me, however, Labyrinth of Lies fell a bit flat.

When I opened the novel, I didn’t realize it was the second book of a series. Checked out the first one from my library, consumed it while on a work trip before starting Labyrinth of Lies the next morning. I finished the sequel of Hannon’s Triple Threat series in a little over four hours—I read the novel from cover to cover, only stopping to board my plane. So Labyrinth of Lies definitely kept my attention, and it made the time pass quickly. But truthfully, I don’t know if that was because I super enjoyed the book, or if it was because…you know, I was stuck on a plane.

Something was missing for me with Labyrinth of Lies. I waited to write this review, hoping I could identify it, but I still can’t. Not exactly. Part of my problem may have been because I read Hannon’s two Triple Threat books in quick succession. After finishing Point of Danger, I knew what to look for in Labyrinth of Lies. The villain was no great mystery, and while Hannon threw a few curve balls, I predicted—with some accuracy—the next step in the story. The crimes differ in Point of Danger and Labyrinth of Lies, but the characters are too similar for my liking, with reversed roles. In the former, the female character believes in the relationship and wants to see where it’ll go; in the latter, Zeke’s trying to convince Cate.

Have I read Christian novels that hinted at sexual attraction? Yes. Labyrinth of Lies does not feature it frequently, but it does play a role, and I’m…not sure I liked that about the novel. If I wanted to read about how certain things affected the male character’s libido, I would read a non-Christian romance novel.

Finally: The set-up of Labyrinth of Lies seemed completely unbelievable to me. A 33-year-old posing as a 17-year-old girl? I cannot fathom that for a second. There are too many distinct differences between a woman’s body in her thirties and a girl’s in her teens. Cate has a roommate. Is the roommate just…oblivious? Zeke goes undercover as a teacher, and Cate is one of his students. He offers her “private tutoring,” and they meet in a study room. That’s…okay with the all-girls school? To have a male teacher being alone with a female student? I somehow doubt that would go over well in today’s society—or that any man with a brain would willingly set himself up for the potential repercussions that could follow.

Will I read the third Triple Threat book after its publication? Probably. But that’s because I’ve read two-thirds of the series already, and I dislike not finishing what I start. It isn’t because I have formed any attachments to Irene Hannon’s characters. Hannon is a talented author, but I enjoy others’ works just a little bit more.

One is drawn to Cate, 10 years with St Louis. PD, thirty three, and one undercover job, that was enough. Now asking her to do it again, to pose as a seventeen year old student. Why her, she gets carded so often when buying wine. Elite all girls school and a girl and boyfriend missing, her father a big contributor, wanting answers. Quick study, she would do it, not willing, to get answers, okay. Problems came when she meets the fill in temporary Spanish teacher. A complication that was not needed.
A good story that draws you in, beyond the drugs, teachers too friendly, or those that are blackmail . Good characters in Cate and Zeke that added to the plot, believable, and well done, enjoyed.

In this 2nd novel in the Triple Threat series, author Irene Hannon features the second of three sisters. In Labyrinth of Lies, Police Detective Cate Reilly and her former flame Zeke Sloan go undercover at Ivy Hill Academy to uncover illegal activities there.

Hannon, the “Queen of Romantic Suspense” has done it again. As usual, she draws the reader in immediately and keeps our attention with lots of twists and turns all the way to the end. This was a very satisfying read.
