Say Goodbye is the third and final instalment in The Sacramento series and this book sees more about ex basketball player Tom Hunter who now works for the FBI along with his lifelong friend Liza. Liza was an army medic so is no shrinking violet when it comes to dealing with difficult situations and this book certainly sees her in plenty of those! For those that have read the first two books they will know they are centered around a cult named Eden and its leader who is known only as Pastor.

In addition we meet pregnant teenager Hayley and her younger brother Graham who are being held within the Eden compound. We also see the return of Gideon, Mercy, Rafe and the rest of the Solokov clan. I absolutely loved reading more about Tom as he featured in Books 1 and 2 and to get the backstory with him and Liza was also compelling reading. I powered through this book and it kept me hooked all the way through. I was sad to get to the end as the trilogy has been absolutely amazing but this set of books is highly recommended!

I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series but I’ve heard only great things about this author and her books so here I am , late to party but here nevertheless.
It’s such a well deserved praise overall. I loved the suspenseful moments, the characters are so well crafted and intriguing scenes and ways of solving these crimes and challenges. I can totally see why she’s a favourite and I’m looking forward to read more in the future, rather sooner than later at that.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

As always you can rely on Karen Rose to write a really immersive thriller; great characters, writing and plot! Never let down by a Karen Rose book!

The queen of romantic suspense has done it again!
Another brilliantly well plotted story line and a fantastic ending to the series.
If you haven’t read the two previous books in this series you can still read this as a stand-alone as there is just enough back story for you to follow who’s ego and what’s happening.
However, saying that I really recommend reading the first two first as they are both excellent books and they will enhance your enjoyment of this book.
This is either her 25th or 26th books and with each one they keep getting better!
I recommend reading her entire back catalogue, Karen Rose is a master story teller with a cast of characters that you can’t help but adore.
This book is so god I’ve technically read it 3 times!
Once when it first came out in hardback, on audiobook and now again with the paperback edition.
It is a fair size book so you’ve got a few good days of reading here but it will be time well spent as you won’t regret it.
Now to wait for a new book to come out.
Hopefully she won’t keep us waiting too long 🤞
A big book with a big heart and plenty of plot twists written by an incredible author.

This is the third instalment in the Sacramento series looking at the cult of Eden. The focus of this book is the characters of FBI TomHunter and Liza Barclay, ex military. All the previous characters are also involved. You do need to have read the previous books to get the full story.
This is a thrilling read and I highly recommend. Can’t wait for the next book from the amazing Karen Rose.
Thanks to Headline and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Karen Rose is the queen of chilling crime thrillers laced with plenty of danger, passion and intrigue and she is on superb form with Say Goodbye. A heart-pounding page-turner with more twists and turns than a rollercoaster, Karen Rose deftly balances romance and suspense in a jaw-dropping thriller that will leave readers barely able to catch their breath.

This is the third book in the Sacramento series, and a great ending to a very gripping series. I've always loved Karen's books, and once again I wasn't disappointed. Recommended for anyone who loves a good read from a talented author.

Say Goodbye is the 3rd book in the Sacramento trilogy and picks up the Eden Cult storyline that we have followed through the first 2 books. The main focus however is on pro basketball star turned FBI Agent Tom Hunter who fans of Ms Rose's books will recognise as the young boy fleeing domestic violence with his mother from her very first novel 'Don't Tell'.
Tom is determined to take down the evil cult and it's leaders who have hurt his friends and continue to threaten their lives to stop them exposing the cult and it's practices to the world. Tom is a man who understands pain due to his childhood and losing his pregnant fiancée to murder and his decade long friendship with Liza is one of the good things in his life. Neither Tom nor Liza are aware that they have both been secretly in love with each other since they first met each other but fate and life have conspired to keep them apart until now. Tom understands though that when you allow yourself to love it makes you vulnerable to loss and he is just not able to withstand any more loss in his life. Plus he has an evil, murderous cult to find before anyone else dies.
I absolutely love Karen Rose books and really enjoy how the many characters lives intertwine and develop throughout the series. This particular series was very enjoyable as it was very satisfying to see how Tom has grown from a young, scared boy to a capable and courageous man over the years.
5 stars and many thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and Karen Rose for the ARC - I will be counting the days until the next treat from Karen!

So I've made the mistake of not reading the previous 2 books before this one. However I did enjoy the book, so much so that i have now purchased the 1st 2 books so I can start from the beginning.

Another great book from Karen Rose, and this one ending the story about Eden from this series.
As with Karens previous books, you know who the love interest is going to be and the build up as to how they get to be together, but this series with Eden has been especially good and descriptive about this cult and how people have escaped from it.

Say goodbye by Karen rose

🔪This is the third book in the Sacramento series that follows the cult "Eden" where people are basically living without any basic rights, abused in the name of religion.

🔪FBI agent Tom Hunter, has seen the damage this cult has done in his friends who escaped the cult and want to give them closure and protect them from getting killed by the cult members bent on revenge.

🔪When his best friend Liz is taken as hostage by the cult he realises feelings for her and his career could all go wrong if he cannot track the hostages in time.

🔪This is a big book with lots of back stories, characters from the other two books of the series (so you have to read the book in order) and some unexpected twists with crazy characters!! I was expecting more from the man portrayed as a big villian (even in old age) from previous books but this book fully had a crazy guy as the main villian who does it all wrong thereby getting caught in the end 🙈 I think how crazy brave and stupid he was made the story, because there was no other way to end a trilogy of how cult with brainwashed people can be caught

🔪I loved how the family drama, slow burn feelings were balanced between the murder mystery and chasing of psycho killer. That made this book the best for me ❤️

🔪Thank you @netgalley and @headlinebooks for my copy ❤️

Karen Rose is one of my favourite authors so when she has a new book I’m all over it. I would recommend starting at the beginning of her book series as the characters can overlap and sometimes reference other book storylines and it just adds so much more to the read. Each book focuses on a different group of characters. For me her books are like a huge extended family that Im so invested in. I love all the characters and there stories and how they intertwine. I’m so intrigued by the subject of cults and how they work so loved that element of this storyline but I felt I needed more in that regard. The pace just flows and it had so much going on that it just grips you. Rose never will shy away from violence and crime and there are continuous twists and turns. She builds the suspense and doesn’t let up that you feel you are on a rollercoaster ride. For me Karen Rose is one to read and couldn’t recommend her books more.

4.5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟/🌟

Thanks to Netgalley and Headline for the opportunity to read and review this ARC that was published on the 5th of Aug.

This book is definitely unique and in some ways very different to the books I usually read. It is a jam-packed affair, packed with a host of important and complex characters, action and suspense. The characters who stood out for me were definitely Tom and Liza as I felt I connected more with them and could identify with their sense of longing.

This is the 3rd book in the series but I don’t this really hampered my enjoyment of the book once I got into the swing of it. Karen does well to provide context and information to make the story accessible to new readers. Though, I definitely will consider going back to read the other books having read this one.

Karen definitely strikes a good balance between suspenseful situations that often involve violence or threat to life, with the softer details of the romance and the romantic feelings.

I think the territory of Eden is well constructed and becomes easy to picture. These descriptions provided a truly dystopian flavour to the book for me, and it is clear that this author is a woman of many talents.

I’m struggling to think of books or authors to compare this to as it was so wholly original and at times, quite manic. Karen Rose certainly knows how to deliver a pacey read, even in a lengthy book!

I have long been a fan of Karen Rose, and have read all of her books over the years. With a favourite author, there is always the risk that their next book won’t live up to expectations, but thankfully, Say Goodbye delivers on all levels. It is a fast-paced, action-packed read that I flew through, despite it’s fairly large size! I absolutely love the characters in this series, but in particular the wonderfully warm Sokolov family.

Being something of a book series addict, one thing I love about Karen Rose’s books is that although each series is separate from the others, and you don’t technically need to read them in order to follow the story in each book, there are links back to earlier books and series through familial relationships that tie all her books together. This particular series takes us all the way back to her first book, although I must admit it took me a little time to work out why the names were familiar, it being a few years since I read the first book.

Say Goodbye is exactly the type of book I have come to expect from Karen Rose – a complex thriller with a cast of characters that is, at times, mind-boggling. There is a lot to keep track of, but this effort really pays off as the tension builds and builds. By the time I reached the culmination I was a screwed up ball of stress, and it actually took me a while to wind down after reading it, which is just what makes a good book for me.

Say Goodbye is a fantastic read, and one I heartily recommend. Although it can be read as a standalone, you really won’t regret going right back to the start and reading all of Karen Rose’s books.

4.5 Stars

Say Goodbye is the latest tale of heart-stopping suspense from best-selling author Karen Rose.

FBI Agent Tom Hunter is a man with a mission. Having seen first-hand the irrevocable damage caused by a brutal cult, Tom had vowed to put the people who had caused such heartache and sorrow behind bars and make them pay for all the pain they’ve inflicted on the people that mean the most to him. Tom will chase every single lead he can find if it leads to the nefarious mercenaries that run this cult – but first he needs to track down the exact location of Eden, which has thus far always been shrouded in mystery.

Liza Barkley cannot remember a time when she hadn’t been head over heels in love with Tom. However, the weight of her past secrets lies very heavily upon her shoulders. Telling Tom the truth about her past could end up jeopardising any hope she might have of a relationship with him. Yet, when the lead Tom has been chasing for so long ends up putting Liza in the line of fire, there’s no longer any room to hide. Is Tom’s desperate search for justice going to end up costing Liza everything? With ruthless cult leader DJ Belmont intent on wreaking his revenge on those people who had managed to flee Eden, Tom and Liza find themselves desperately needing to watch their back because one wrong move could destroy everything!

As Tom and his team get ever closer to finally bringing this cult down, another surprise is waiting just around the corner. The game is not over just yet, but will Eden finally close its gates for good? Will Tom and Liza finally have the future they’ve always wanted? Or will this cult continue to exert its malevolent influence over all of their lives?

Karen Rose is the queen of chilling crime thrillers laced with plenty of danger, passion and intrigue and she is on superb form with Say Goodbye. A heart-pounding page-turner with more twists and turns than a rollercoaster, Karen Rose deftly balances romance and suspense in a jaw-dropping thriller that will leave readers barely able to catch their breath.

In Say Goodbye, Karen Rose outdoes herself once again with a deftly plotted thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats throughout. Fast-paced, tense and terrifying, Say Goodbye is guaranteed to keep readers engrossed all through the night.

This book is the third book of the Sacramento series and it is an enjoyable read even though I’ve not read the previous two books. I’m a huge fan of Karen Rose and she doesn’t disappoint. The only criticism I have is that the things the bad guy DJ does, I found pretty far fetched. Otherwise a book I’d recommend.

Many thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Finally! Everyone got what they deserved. DJ really was evil, but was he made evil or always was. I love how all the books connect with each other and all the characters never are too far from the readers minds. So, I hope to hear how it goes for Abigail next in one of the later books.
