This book is adorable! I absolutely LOVE the cute illustrations, the pictures to show what each piece of equipment is is really good at getting kids to understand, and the sheer number of pictures throughout the book really helps to make things clear - especially as these are done in a beautiful cartoon style drawing that kids will love. The recipes sound beautiful, and the few I've managed to try so far have been really simple and delicious, without taking too long, all of which further makes this a perfect starting point for introducing children to baking.

My only criticism of this book would be to argue that it is less suited to the teenage population than to younger readers. Whilst the gorgeously cute cartoon imagery, as well as the sweet "what did I do/ who helped" section at the end of each recipe is perfect for younger children, I would argue that older kids and especially teens may find this condescending, unless given as an ironic present to help get them into baking.

The real baking book for children and teens, recommended! With illustrations on the ingredients, utensils, and how to do the technique, this is a must-have book for those who start to bake or those who had tried baking previously. Completed with notes to fill at the end of every recipes: the stars they give the particular recipe, what to change, and who accompanied them, is a wonderful idea.

This is a cute book for baking with younger kids. However, I would not recommend this book for teenagers. This is more suited to younger children.

I want to start off with praising the cover. It's so darn stinking cute. I very much will judge this book by the cover and want to read it because of that alone. ^_^
Illustrated Step-by-Step Baking Cookbook for Kids and Teens is just that, great for kids and teens. I'm glad this book is geared towards a multitude of ages. I'm used to seeing cookbooks either written specifically for kids and it's too simple for teens or written for teens and is not age appropriate for younger kids. This was a happy medium. which I appreciate. I think even adults would find this book to be useful.

This is a great book to encourage young people to cook - easy to follow child friendly recipes - will be using it again and again

This book is a great idea, but I think the recipes need to be adjusted some. There were not a lot of recipes that kids would typically get excited about (no chocolate chip cookies?!). There were a lot of more sophisticated flavors and desserts for a beginning kids' baking book. This is really aimed at the kid who dreams of being a chef and is already willing to be adventurous with their eating. Also, I would love to see a version for gluten-free and dairy-free kids.

I thought this was a great cookbook for kids and early teens. I think the step by steps and pictures help the new to be bakers. I think some of the recipes look good and easy to do. I also like how the page after the recipes has page to fill out like how did the food turned who helped them etc.

This book just worked so well and I really wouldn't define it by age, I used this for my husband and also myself, for new recipes, There were some different recipes there that I haven't done before and I really did experiment with them.

Thoroughly recommend.

I was given a free copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.

For a Kawaii enthusist, this simple and charming cookbook would make an excellent present. The muted tones and graphic style were not appealing to me though. I prefer cookbooks that show actual photographs. That said, the step-by-step instructions are terrific for kids just learning to cook.

This is an illustrated step by step cookbook for children, but also useful for adults in my opinion.
It is set out as illustrated recipes which are easy to follow with the step by step guide. Each recipe us followed by a page for the child to fill in when they have used the recipe.
This is an ideal starting book for introducing children to baking.
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for this read.

I had some trouble downloading this cookbook at first but thankfully it worked well on my phone but not on my IPAD. Anyway, I was so pleased with this cookbook. It is a phenomenal guide for kids and teens to help you out in the kitchen with each easy, delicious recipe shown in step by step pictures.

This cook book is such a cute idea! Being a parent and teacher of elementary age kids makes me want to share this book with all of my students. The illustrations of the step by step instructions are such a wonderfully creative idea to help kids understand what they need to do to bake fun treats. I love the different recipes. There are some missing pages of ingredients for some recipes that I hope will be fixed before they print.

What a cute cookbook!

My 9 year old love all the cats doing the cooking. Totally appealed to her so much so that she actually wanted to engage with making various items from the book. She is in Brownies and I could see these relatively simple recipes would work well for her baking badge.

i think I'd prefer to have to book in print, purely so I can flick through it at leisure, but I am grateful for the ARC copy from the publisher and Netgalley.

Everybody seems to be busier than ever, and few people have time to teach their children how to cook and bake while juggling work and pressing responsibilities. Illustrated Step-by-Step Baking Cookbook for Kids: 60 easy and delicious recipes by Skye Wade, is one of the cutest and best cookbooks out there for kids. The recipes, however, are great for both kids and adults. This excellent cookbook has great recipes that everyone will want to make, with step-by-step instructions with cute illustrations that will definitely appeal to kids. The cookbook emphasizes the importance of having an adult present, which is essential, but some of the recipes are easy enough for older kids to make on their own as long as there is an adult in the house.

Rather than written recipes in the traditional way, these recipes have very easy-to-follow illustrations with simple prose. The first chapter is devoted to basics and includes basic cooking terms, safety rules, and instructions for measuring. That chapter is important for introducing good baking skills for children. It is also a good reminder for adults who may not have developed good baking skills.

One of the most important elements in a good cookbook, and especially in a children’s book is photographs, and in this cookbook there is a beautiful photograph of every recipe.

Anyone with children should pick up this excellent cookbook; it includes mouthwatering recipes, great information on building good baking skills, and even places to put notes. This will be the cookbook that kids will use whenever they want a good treat, and one that they will take with them after they are grown. The price is a bit steep, but most families will find it’s worth it.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
