This is a seriously cute cookbook! The recipes look absolutely delicious and I can't wait to try some of them. The way everything is laid out is super simple and I love the illustrations. Those little cats chopping and cooking are so adorable! The pictures of the finished recipes look so scrumptious they had my mouth watering! I think this would be an amazing book to gift someone of any age who likes to bake. Such a fun layout!

I love pretty much everything about this little cookbook! Not only does it have simple but sophisticated recipes for children, it also has the CUTEST illustrations of a CAT COOKING said recipes!!!
The steps, ingredients, and equipment needed are all illustrated. I think this not only adds an element of fun for beginning cooks, but also makes it a bit easier to comprehend. The layout is concise and easy to follow. I’m very much in favor of the addition of a “notes” page at the end of every recipe.
The only thing I would change is the number of recipes behind certain “categories”. For instance, there are only one or two recipes under each section in some cases.
But overall this cookbook would be a wonderful edition to any library. We will definitely be purchasing!

This baking cookery book is aimed at children and teens with sixty recipes to choose from.

It has plenty of different types of recipes to chose from and is divided into eight sections plus an Introduction (no of recipes):
- Cookies and Bars (14)
- Cakes (18)
- Cupcakes (5)
- Muffins (4)
- Pastries (5)
- Breads (4)
- Savoury and Salty (5)
- Making Ingredients (5)

The introduction includes the basics such as following the steps, safety, baking terms and how to measure. There are illustrations to accompany this section.

Alongside a photograph of the finished recipe, it states the number of ingredients required, preparation, cooking and resting times, difficulty, and the number of servings. The ingredients are set out horizontally with an illustration of the ingredient along with its metric and imperial measurement. Illustrations are also included with the equipment required so too do the steps of the recipe. Some of the illustrations also include a kawaii type of cat doing the actions - so cute!

At the end of each recipe, there is a notes page that includes space to put your rating out of 5 stars, the cooking date, who helped, what you would change, and ideas for experiments (some of which are already completed for you).

Some of the bakes do not have a resting time, but it's slightly misleading because they do include in the instruction time for it to cool in the pan and not all bakes can be eaten hot. I struggled to see the writing under the recipe steps. I can't quite tell if it's 3/4 or a 1/2 of an ingredient that is used at one point, it's that small.

At the rear of the book is a list of the recipes split into cooking times, plus a page of occasions for each recipe and there is also a colouring page of the kawaii cat amongst cakes.

Even though this book is said to be aimed at teens, the addition of the illustrations throughout the book has more of a feel for the pre-teen and younger children.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This book is ideal as a gift or to get your kids interested in the wonderful world of baking. The book however is not just for kids but also for adults who want to start learning from scratch. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and thats what this book incorporates. After all who doesn’t love colorful pictures of desserts to entice yourselves and others. I would love to get the physical book as you can even add your own notes for future reference at the end of the recipe. I can’t wait to try these recipes with my kids.

I recently rebought a strawberry shortcake cookbook I used to love when I was little. This cookbook felt like that one. Cute cartoon images and easy to follow recipes.

This is a very nice book which will help adults and kids together to explore the world of baking. The book is appealing for children with its simple, colourful and friendly presentation. The recipes are clearly marked with the degree of difficulty and a clear indication of the preparation time. A handy overview at the end of the book organises the recipe per preparation time so it is possible to decide what to bake depending on how much time is available. The ingredients are always simple and easy to find in regular shops.
I really liked the illustrations and the good step by step instructions. A little kitten helps out here and there and shows the child what to do. He is very cute.
I really liked the fact that the book also introduces useful baking knowledge to our little bakers: they learn the baking language, how to measure the ingredients, quite a number of good safety advice, and a really nice set of steps to follow when baking from washing their hands to putting everything back in its place, cleaning the kitchen and, of course, enjoying their food. The book has space for kids and parents to make notes under each recipe if there is something they need to keep in mind for next time.
A very nice little book to initiate kids to the pleasure of home baking.

A solid cookbook well suited for younger folks interested in baking. I am especially a fan of the opening where it lays out basic food safety rules, and how every recipe includes weights (highly useful when baking)

A feedback section at the end of each recipe with a suggestion or two for how to do things differently in the future is a nice additional touch.

Sadly the way this book was formatted didn't lend itself well to read properly on the kindle app, as the pages didn't fit properly and even on the largest size font was difficult to read. However from what I could see, the recipes sound tasty and I think kids would like the way illustrations are used.

I absolutely adored this book!

First of all, the format is quite different from what I’ve seen, since it mainly uses illustrations to show what you are supposed to do, instead of a large paragraph with instructions. I think that was a very nice touch. I also liked how it included safety measures that were very clear at the beginning.

Regarding the recipes, i think they look absolutely delicious and are easy to make. I will sure be trying them whenever i babysit my nieces.

Another thing that i liked, was how at the end there was an space to give your opinion about that dish, and ideas you might have to improve it next time.

Overall, I think this book is great and I absolutely recommend it.

This was a very visual and easy book to go through. It’s an amazing and very helpful book. The book starting off with safety rules is very important and the way it’s structured with images will help children see and understand things a bit better. This teaches them things that will help keep them safe in the kitchen while having fun. From beginning to end I really did like this book. The ingredients and equipment’s little images are helpful because it will point things out to children and help them find the things they need very quickly and easily. The recipes are very easy to follow with pictures and the little captions. It’s a very engaging book. I love how there’s little facts. At the end of every recipe you have a notes sections that you can talk about how the recipe went. Overall, this book was incredible and something I would definitely gift to someone because of how it’s set up.

This cookbook is okay....I didn't love it nearly as much as I had hoped though. The cutesy character illustrations on the front are used throughout and it makes it a lot harder to follow instructions than actual step by step live pictures. The recipes themselves are fairly basic go tos, but they contain a lot of sugar. They are not recipes I would want my kids to make since they contain no health benefits and so much sugar. However, the pictures of the recipes do look quite good and I know some people have no problem with sugary desserts, so while it didn't appeal to me, I think there is certainly a niche that would love this.

Adorable cookbook for kids and teenagers wanting to learn how to bake! It includes a variety of mouthwatering, aesthetically-appealing recipes with extra pages for notes. The illustrations are adorable and I loved the photographs.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

Absolutely adorable book! Only problem is the format does not work well with kindle, and images a bit blurry in Apple Books, there are also missing pages/recipes. Super simple recipes with cute illustrations. I have tried some of the cookie recipes and super delicious, kids love it. New favourite cookbook! :)

I received a free e-ARC from the author/publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was an absolutely delightful cookbook for children and teens (and adults too!) It was presented beautifully, and the layout was simple and easy to follow.
It begins with basic tools used in the kitchen as well as safety tips, which I thought was a great addition. Each chapter begins with a beautiful full colour photograph, then is followed by the recipes, which are all illustrated from start to finish, including illustrations of the ingredients and equipment that will be used in the recipe. It covers a range of baked goods, such as cookies, cakes, and bre. It also includes a page to review the recipe, and note any changes you have made, or would like to experiment with later.
My only quibble is that it felt like there weren't enough recipes. In chapter 8 'Savory & Salty' there is only a single recipe for Margherita pizza, and chapter 9 'Some Ingredients' only had a pizza base recipe. The same is true for the chapters about muffins, pastries and breads. The inclusion of a few more recipes in each of those chapters would have made this book a 5 star for me. Off the top of my head, I probably would have added some savoury pies, another couple of pizzas (maybe even a dessert pizza), some basic breads (like sourdough, focaccia, naan), a few muffin variations (like blueberry), and perhaps a vanilla slice to the pastry section. I'd also probably rename the 'Some Ingredients' chapter to 'Basic Recipes', and included a bread, sponge cake, butter cake, pancake, and donut recipe. I'd also possibly include how to make basic pastries, like rough puff and shortcrust. I think this would allow for a lot more experimentation and scope, especially if provided with some suggestions.
On the whole, a cute, easy to follow cookbook. I know a lot of people who would adore this style of book, so I only wish there were more recipes.

This is a cute book perfect for all the young ones who want to learn how to cook/bake some nice cakes or even pizza. It has step by step instructions and I like that there were mentioned some safety measures. I enjoyed reading it and I would recommend it to adults too, especially if they want to learn how to cook some recipes and they don't where to start. I loved the illustrations as well, they were really cute.

A wonderful illustrated guide for children, teens, and adults alike interested in baking at large. It is structured into three main parts: safety, recipes, and index. Geared towards the younger side of the age spectrum, it ensures that children understand that they should have an adult with them when using a stove, sharp utensils, and so forth. It also includes culinary terminology like "knead" and "sift" with icons for what each action entails. Although I have not baked any of the items myself, I found the instructions clear, aesthetically pleasing, and easy for anyone of any age to follow. After each recipe, there is a page where the reader can rate the recipe, how they would alter it for next time, and room for experimentation. Finally, the index includes conversion factors, recipes divided by hours to complete, and a final coloring page.

What an incredible way to show kids how to cook! I read this from cover to cover and loved every nuance of the ideas of the displays and how they were layed out for the kids to understand!
I showed my friends kids who are ten, twelve, and sixteen and two girls and one boy and they loved the book and the recipes. They only wished there were more in the book! Lol!
I agree with the more recipes!

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Such a cute cookbook with gorgeous illustrations throughout. Very easy for kids to follow with basic tips. The flourless chocolate cake was a hit with everyone and we have picked out a few more recipes to make in the future. The simplicity of the recipe and instructions means that my son can get involved and feel like he’s in charge.

We can’t wait to try out the recipes for

Fudge brownies with pecans and chocolate crinkle cookies

This is. a great introduction for kids to get into cooking. The book has illustrations for each step and has basic words used. There are also safety rules. There are several blank pages and it was difficult to sort through.

This is. a great introduction to more independent baking for children. The book is well laid out, has very clear illustrations for each step and has a great introduction that covers basic words used, safety rules and how to measure.

There is a good variety of recipes from around the world, split into different categories - such as biscuits, muffins and cakes. Each recipe has a front page that describes the recipes difficulty, amount of ingredients and a short blurb about it. The recipes appear to be clear and easy to follow - the illustrations for each make this book perfect for encouraging children to follow along the recipe too... it's a lovely step further than baking along with your parent!

I love this book and can't wait to use it with my toddler as she grows - plus the recipes sound delicious!
