This is my very first read by this author and she did not disappoint. I can't remember the last time I read a musician romance and I didn't realize how much I missed them until now. Their story tugged hard at my heart strings and did not let up. I fell in love with this couple, not only them together but the people that they are individually. The heat and connection between Nash and Nora is palpable. I'm just in awe and their story is one I will not soon forget.

I think this was a sweet romance with two characters who are flawed yet still find a way to love each other and themselves. I wish we could have seen more of Nash’s recovery story rather than just the flash forwards at the end of the book. Over all, was a quick and entertaining read!

Nash and Nora are the Ying and the Yang. Totally opposites, complementing each other at the same time. Therefore, the chemistry between hero and heroine is credible and palpable. Simply perfection.

The secondary characters do their job, making the plot attractive without overshadowing the main characters. I’d like to get to know Monica a little bit more. And Ziggy is terrific. Riley and Sebastian … Well, they got me a couple of laughs, honestly.

A very beautiful story, well written, with fluid transitions between scenes, not forced at all, and with an excellent setting, as well as a fairly good knowledge of the subject is what Founded on Goodbye sells us. And I bought it, a fully satisfied customer. It’s a book that deserves to be read over and over again. Highly recommended. And the oh-so-romantic epilogue...

•Big thanks to Kat Singleton and The Next Step PR for giving me an ARC of this book.

I'm more of a m/m fan then m/f but I saw "Rockstar" and had to read this. Needless to say I binged this in two days. Once Nora went on tour with Nash I was constantly reading to see what happened next. *just one more chapter* I told myself over and over again. The author did a great job of building a relationship between these two flawed characters and make you invested in what happens to them. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

"Maybe the broken parts of me are the pieces that you love the most."

Ever since reading Kat Singleton's other books last year, I have come to trust her at delivering very angsty, emotion-laden, yet sexy romance stories - and she delivered so well for Founded on Goodbye! It's also been a long time since I read a rockstar romance novel (which is something of a guilty pleasure), so everything about this book just satisfied me so well.

Founded on Goodbye follows the story of world famous popstar Nash Pierce and how he has lost his passion in music and life because of a certain event in his life, hence led himself to a very destructive lifestyle. In order to get him write another chart-topping album, his manager and team conspires behind his back and hires social media famous dancer Nora as one of his tour's back up dancers in order to make him fall in love with her and break his heart - thereby becoming an inspiration to another highly successful and popular album.

The first chapter of this book was already so alluring from the start, and everyone reading it would immediately know that things were bound to go wrong. Everything just screamed angst from start to finish. There were just a lot of ways things were going to go bad, but there were also a lot of tender, sweet, and fluffy moments mixed in between that balanced the entire thing. Nora and Nash were obviously well-fleshed out characters, and I really enjoyed seeing a lot of their vulnerable sides. Honestly, I didn't root for both for them at the start, but as their personalities and problems were presented later on, it was a thrill to see it all unfold. The romance between them was very raw and emotional, and there were definitely a lot of times that it made my heart hurt - and that for me is a great play of a very angsty romance book. There are definitely moments that will live rent-free in my brain, such as the rain show and the random facts scenes.

Kudos also to the author for discussing important topics in this book, such as addiction, depression, trauma, and abuse. All these were written into the story seamlessly, and became a great background for the characters' stories, hence it never felt like it was being forced down the readers' throats.

The only issue I have with this book was how things ended. It was definitely very romantic, and swoon-worthy, but it felt too rushed for me. I love a good angsty ending wherein it would almost become a "one that got away" situation that would span a couple of years or more. Ugh, the pining in that interim would be enough to crush me. While it somewhat delivered in the latter chapters, I would liked it to be stretched out a bit and explored more. But I did enjoy the ending and epilogue - especially that epilogue because it was just that romantic *heart eyes*

I can't wait to read the next book in this series, and get to see more of Nash and Nora!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves very angsty romance novels just as much as I do.

This book was absolutely what I needed right now! The main characters were great and the plot was perfectly written. This book is a rockstar romance, so you should definitely read this book if that's something you're into.

Heartbreak sells, what a way to describe this book. When an angsty musician writes his best work after being heartbroken and then becomes complacent in the hollowness of his life his management decides to intervene.
This book is full of emotions in ways I wasn't full expecting. I wasn't sure how to feel about Nora or Nash at the beginning of this book they both were stuck in their own heads filled with woes. But once they started to be something to each other I could see them grow and open in unexpected ways.
Founded on Goodbye is certainly a story of heartbreak, but also a story of living.

This was my first book by this author and it was amazing! Nash and Nora’s story is a swoony angsty emotional and addictive ride and I can’t recommend this book enough! I loved everything about their story! I was hooked after the first chapter till the last page ! Simply mesmerizing! This book right here is why I love trying new to me authors.

I was expecting a lot from the book based on other reviews, but it did not meet my expectations It’s obvious the author had good ideas about the plot but the execution was lacking. It was very difficult to empathize with any of the characters. If you're looking for a simple, quick romance novel to escape for a bit, I can see how this could fit the bill. I did not have any issue with the writing itself. I simply felt that the story didn't have any reprieve from the constant tension. I would have liked to see the characters fleshed out a little more. The storyline of being paid to break someone's heart was the main focus, the actual characters, their backgrounds, their emotions, seemed to come in second. If you have any knowledge of dance, choreography, or the music industry, you’ll probably have a hard time getting into the book. There was surprise trauma that was barely discussed and then quickly moved past, not making the impact expected by the author.

If you were like me who loves boyband and everything in between, this book is for you!
One of my fave read this 2021! I just need to say that because this book is everything! I had high expectations but Founded on Goodbye never disappoints!
A story about Nash, the artist, and Nora, the dancer. Nora was not only hired to be a dancer for Nash’s tour but also to break his heart so he can hopefully write break up songs to make him a bigger superstar.
This book started strong and the characters crawl on my heart to make little spaces. I feel like I’m reading a Justin and Hailey Bieber book because they really fit as Nash and Nora. But to be honest Nash is a mix of Justin Bieber and Luke Hemmings in my head. Would’ve been cool if the songs is actually a song, just like the songs on Maybe Someday of CoHo.
This book is a slow burn, but not too much, it has lots of angst and tension so I really had fun reading every chapters.
The spice scene is also everything, I had the biggest pokerface because I’m reading it in a public place.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait for more from this author!

Nora is approached by Nash Pierce's manager to break his heart in hopes of inspiring his next album. She is hired a backup dancer on his new tour which is a huge step in her career and she doesn't really think she will ever catch his eye so it isn't any harm right.....? Will she actually be able to break his heart after she finds herself in love with him after getting to know him better?

Founded on Goodbye is definitely a slow burn Rockstar romance full of sexual tension and angst. The story was cute, but it was also very predictable. I expected more from FOG in terms of plot development, but it was still an enjoyable read. It was a quick read for me ( I read in in one sitting) and I recommend it to anyone looking for an angsty Rockstar romance. I will definitely be picking up whatever Kat Singleton decides to write next!

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for allowing me a chance to read the ARC of this book; This is my voluntary review. I'm rating this book 3.5/5 Stars due to the fact that is was enjoyable, but left me wanting more. I wasn't a fan of the time jumps... I wish instead more time was spent developing the plot.

I loved this so much! It was emotional, exciting and so much deeper and more complex than just the average devastating secret/heartbreak kind of romance story. The characters were fantastic, the feelings were raw and I really enjoyed seeing the POV from both Nora and Nash. The ending was predictable but inevitable obviously but I wasn't completely sold with the epilogue. I can't place my finger on what but I just expected more? I'm not normally a romance reader but I couldn't put this down! I've definitely been seeking more romance out after reading this banger of a book, so so good!

5 PIERCING ♫♫♫♫♫

~Nash Pierce & Nora Mason~

This book got me in the feel so deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

The angst in this book literally chokes me.

Nash Pierce is only the most musician at the moment. However, fame and money can't heal him inside. So, he resorts to booze and women. He's a hot mess most of the time, yet no one seems to care.
Nora Mason is a small-town girl who comes to California to reach her dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Reluctantly accepting the offer, she sells herself short and believing that there is no chance for her in making Nash falling in love with her.
Yet, still, he's falling...

Founded on Goodbye is one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride.
The disastrous end can be seen miles away. It's inevitable and unavoidable.
My heart breaks reading how people around Nash keep stabbing him in the back and seeing Nora will inevitably do the same to him anger me. Like why? But then, if she doesn't take the offer, she will never meet Nash. what a dilemma...

Nevertheless, the author successfully writes the story for them. I love how she gives Nash the closure and time to heal; how she gives Nora the chance to apologize and try to right things. In the end, Nash and Nora show that even though their meeting founded in goodbye, their love will last forevermore.

Founded on Goodbye was an emotional story based around lies and deceit for the sake of good music.

Nora Mason is a dancer who is approached by the manager of one of the most popular music artists with a proposition… make Nash Pierce fall in love with her and break his heart. His music is suffering and he needs a broken heart to write another good album.

She never expected him to be someone she could, in turn, fall in love with… and the closer she comes to breaking his heart, the more she shatters her own in the process.

I love a good rockstar romance, but I hadn’t ever read one that details the back up dancer process and it was so much fun. The on stage performances in this book were some of my favorite parts. I absolutely loved Nora and Nash. Going into a book like this, you know that there is going to be some major heart break… and there IS! There is epic pain and emotion in this book. Nash is such a broken human. But he is also so incredibly beautiful, and the romance that builds between he and Nora is intense.

This was a heart stopper for sure!

This book caught me completely off guard. I knew I was getting myself into a Rockstar romance. Little did I know that it will make me so emotionally invested in the story. It was a very entertaining read.

I had no idea that I will like Nash so much. From the moment he actually started to open up, I was a goner. I loved the way he treated his fans and how he dealt with everything that ruined his life little by little. Nora was an interesting character as well. She is a dancer, so she found her place in my heart pretty quickly.

In a nutshell, it was a really good Rockstar romance that I recommend.

Overall the book was 4.5 ⭐️! Usually don’t read rockstar romances but this was a lighthearted, quick read. Nash and Nora had some adorable moments but I would say the plot was predictable. I have never read anything from Kat but will keep my eyes out for any other new releases. :)
