The cover and blurb are very interesting. The book could use some beta reading and editing.

I was quite sad for Beth, and she turns out to be quite the resilient character.

I have to say I was disgusted by the sections where Remy was abused. I wanted to stop reading this book, but in all fairness, I was also captivated by their fight for survival. Mistress Valentina was cold to the core, a deadly piece of work. Beth had no choice, flee for her life or die. It was sad to see all her efforts were in vain. She just exchanged prison and from a madwoman to a madman. It’s like the saying goes, she jumped out of the frying pan, straight into the fire. Beth had no choice but to grow up fast and hard to escape the clutches of both madman and woman.

This book is absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait for the in the next book in the series. I was captivated by this book. I was constantly curious to see what happened next and to see if my guesses were right. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy adventures, magic, mystery and imagination. I just couldn’t put it down. The author did an excellent job. You will not regret this buy

The Guardian of Magic is a story about a non-magical girl in a magical world.
Or at ;east that's what the synopsis promises. And the first chapter definitely covers the start of that, which was intriguing, although the writing style was a bit shaky. I really wanted to give the book a chance.
But it's a DNF for me at 20% in. After the first chapter, the next four were a boring Mary-Sue mess of bad writing. And somehow we didn't get back to Beth - the supposed main character and her story. And that point I gave up, as we were at 1 out of 5 chapters that was actually interesting to read.

I find I have very mixed feelings about this book it wasn't a terrible story, nor was is badly written, but for me it just needed some work to make it a really good story. My issues are to do with those elements of personal preference, so others may enjoy this book more than I did.

The author has immense creative talent and at times I found myself really drawn in by the fast paced plot, in the midst of the action and adventure. Other times I felt as though I was listening to someone narrating a story, 2 or 3 steps removed from events. Other than Beth the characters lacked any sort of depth or growth., most had no motivation and some even felt superfluous to the story.

The world building felt quite underdeveloped, the author had clearly crafted something amazing in their head, but it hadn't been sufficiently translated onto the page. Whilst animals the author invented were described in detail, there was little effort to do so for surroundings, people, emotions or thought processes. The books suffered massively from telling rather than showing. If it's important enough to the plot, then show me in a scene or series of scenes rather than refer to it in a single sentence.

I am, however, a very character and emotion led reader. My enjoyment comes from the feelings a book gives rise to. For a more plot driven reader this would probably be a great read.

An interesting book with a new storyline. After the firt half it became a little monotonous . The end was fun , but would be more interesting if the storyline is more fluid.
