An interesting if slightly overlong dual timeline story, set in the present and also in the tumultuous times of 15th century England.
How the two separate tales are blended, is intriguing and clever. I was very interested in the lives of both the main female protagonists and found it a little annoying when the mini-cliffhangers switched to a different character and timeline.

thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

An interesting mixed fiction which had lots of potential: A dual timeline with a hint of mystery, time travel, supernatural and romance thrown in for good measure. I suspect that the writer had to do a lot of research on the 15th Century; with politics, challenges to the Throne and settings which felt authentic (although I am certainly no expert), seamlessly woven into the story. The book was enjoyable enough on the whole, although I did feel that it didn't live up to its full potential - and at times it fell a little flat. There were also a few forgotten threads which could have added to the story - ie finding out where the Landlady got sent to, who Geneivre actually was.... however on the whole, it's an interesting read.

Many thanks to HarperCollins UK Audio and NetGallery for allowing me a complimentary copy of the book.

Dual timeline, historical romance combined with modern supernatural mystery, following two stories set hundreds of years apart.

In the present day, Serena still suffers from amnesia surrounding the mysterious disappearance without trace of her twin sister. When Caitlin's body is finally discovered in strange circumstances, Serena returns to Minster Lovell Hall in Oxfordshire hoping to unlock her memories and solve the mystery or her sister's disappearance.

Meanwhile, hundreds of years earlier in Tudor England, Minster Lovell Hall is also playing an important role in Anne's romance with Francis, as families jostle for power and attempt to overthrow the King.

The book is narrated well and the stories are both intriguing individually as well as in how they may somehow be connected when separated by so much time.

The duel time lines work well from present day Oxford and links to the historic courts of of the kings of England and looks at the mystery of the Princes in the tower and the final battle of the war of the roses
This book is compulsive listening and well worth a listen

Really interesting concept for a book. Both stories were interesting on there own and then came together nicely at the end.
