This is just the book we need for the time we live in. It's kinda scary that we need to remind people to seek goodness, but it seems to be where we are. I really loved most of the book, but felt like a few sections were just not needed. Overall the idea and concept of the book is very relevant. We need to remember that just because people have different views doesn't make them the enemy and that we should lead from a place of goodness. Listening and opening our minds while seeking goodness are just what we need.

Alexandra Kuykendall has an amazing way to encourage us to love the people around us, to love and bless the place where God has placed us and the life He gave us, in Seeking Out Goodness. Alexandra Kuukendall help you to notice that Gods goodness is already here. She reminds us to look in our Bible and remember who our God is, keeping in mind and hearts that He don't change. At the end of every chapter there is a beautiful prayer and question to reflect on. This book is challenging me to really seek goodness especially in this times when we are bombarded with so many sad news and dificult situations. We are living in a culture where we think that it's OK to cancel or unfriend people because we don't think in the same way instead to encourage, to be accountable in love and learn from each other even though our differences. I totally recommind it. It's a lovely book, easy to read.

Seeking Out Goodness, by Alexandra Kuykendall, is a book with the answers to what I was seeking before I knew the book existed! Living through the last election cycle and a worldwide pandemic had really taken a hit on my moods. I felt anxiety and sadness, vulnerability, and I was grappling with my faith. I had tried to remember Scripture verses that had helped me through other tough times. One that came up for me again and again was found in Philippians 4:8. This verse speaks on what we should be thinking of. The list includes things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. It goes on to say that this and following the good role model of Paul, would give us peace. I understood, but often wondered..."what types of things are these? How do I think of specific things that hold these qualities? Well, Kuykendall answers this question in her book. Each of her sections spells these things out and gives us a lot of chew on. This is a book I will be going back to often. It is the cure for what ails us...especially right now, right here.
