I absolute adore this series and I was SO pumped to find out that the russian was getting his own book - did someone say friends-to-lovers AND marriage of convenience? Yes please.

This was such a nice addition to the Bromance Book Club - it was heartfelt, sweet, emotional and tender. The russian is such a big softie that never played a big role in the previous books but was such a delight to learn more about.

I adored Elena and how she fit into the group so well, and I loved reading about the Russian foods she cooks up for vlad and the gang. Her character was so real and complex and I really enjoyed meeting her properly in this book, after all the confusion and mystery surrounding Vlad’s wife.

There are some genuinely funny moments in between the sensitivity of each chapter, including Hazel the Chicken (who knew a chicken would make me warm and fuzzy inside?) and of course, the Cheese Man. I never knew I needed to read about a mysterious black market cheese monger who has a way with the ladies, but he was a very welcome addition.

The reason I’m giving this just under 4 stars (3.75, to be exact) is because, when comparing it to the rest of the series, it’s a lot less lighthearted and “rom-com” and instead dives a lot deeper into more complex problems that distracted from the romance, which was slightly unexpected. I would’ve loved for more wit and banter like the previous books, but I understand these characters are very different in that aspect.

All of this to say, I absolutely enjoyed this book, I can’t get enough of this group of friends and I can’t wait for the next addition!

The Bromance series been an auto-buy series for me ever since reading ‘The Bromance Bookclub’, because I absolutely love the novel concept of a group of guys reading romance novels to solve relationship problems. ‘Isn’t it Bromantic?’ brings the story of the Russian, Vlad, who appeared in previous books as one of the members of the book club, mainly delivering heavily accented one-liners and an outlet for toilet humour.

Vlad and Elena are two childhood friends trapped in a marriage of convenience, which is on the verge of breakdown. When Vlad gets injured in a hockey game, instead of returning to Russia, Elena moves back in with him to care for him. The chemistry and connection between the two is sizzling, but both have to overcome their insecurities and learn to communicate with each other. I liked how they often automatically switched to Russian when talking to each other, as it’s something typical for bi- or multilingual people.
The Loners were an entertaining new addition; Vlad’s group of singletons offered support and advice to Elena in the same style the wives and girlfriends of the Bromance boys have done in previous books. I also liked that the romance included this time was the book Vlad was in the process of writing, rather than a romance novel they were all reading. They Bromance boys were definitely entertaining as budding editors.
Even though Elena’s backstory touches on problematic social issues, the book was overall a very light read, perfect for the summer holidays. An absolute feel-good romance with plenty of heart, laugh-out-loud scenes, and vulnerable yet strong characters. I couldn’t put this book down and ended up finishing it in one sitting, reading late into the night.

I think 'Isn't It Bromantic' might be my favourite book in the Bromance Book Club series! I adored this book so much and flew through it so fast because I was loving it so much. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times at this book because it was so funny. Every single character was adorable and I loved them all so much. I just loved being back in this world with these characters so much!

The chemistry between Elena and Vlad was off the charts. I couldn't help but root for them from the first chapter because they were just so perfect for each other. I loved how soft they were for each other and how they loved each other so much.

Also I loved the fact that Vlad was a virgin and that there was a conversation between the men about how it was okay that Vlad was a virgin and that he should be embarrassed or ashamed for never having sex before. I loved how normalised this was in the book as it isn't something that happens frequently in romance books.

I just love this book so much and I want more books in this series. I just never want this series to end as reading these books makes me so happy. There is something about this series that is so comforting and you know going into one of these books that you will end up smiling and laughing out loud!

Thank you to Headline Eternal for providing me with an advance copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A great read.
The Russian, Vlad, has been in the previous books in this series, but this time it is all about him.
You know he has a wife, but find out more about their relationship, which seems to be heading for divorce. Can he stop her leaving, and can his fellow book club members help him out?

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This series is one of my favourites! I have adored the Russian from the start and was so excited to get to read his book!

Vlad and Elena have been married for 6 years, but it has only ever been a marriage of convenience - despite the fact that they both secretly wish it was more.

These characters are wonderful and I love each and every one of them. The men in the book club are so brilliantly supportive and I started to miss them the moment I finished the book! Five stars for this sweet, sexy, funny read.

Loved Loved Loved this. Childhood friends to married couple in trouble? Caring for a sick spouse? Angst? Pining? Humor? Wit? Fun writing? If you like any or all of these things, this is the book for you! Cannot express enough how gosh darn good this was. Thank you to Headline and Netgalley for the ARC and I volunteered to review this. All opinions are my own.

Oh, I do love the Bromance Boys!

I have been super excited for this one - The Russian, after all, had been my favourite character in each of the previous books.

This one wasn't the steadies, let's get that out of the way to start with. BUT, it is sweet and heartfelt and lovely. Vlad is just an absolute love and I could read about him being in love in every book!

I also grew to really, really like Elena. They have struggled to be honest with each other and give their relationship a real chance. This book, perhaps more than any if the previous ones, really highlights the importance of learning to communicate effectively with the people you love.

It's also seriously funny. It cheered me up massively - Hazel the Chicken comes back, animals just turn up at Vlad's House on the regular, there's more than one incident with the head of a black market cheese monger and The Russian, as it turns out has a magnificent arse that his friends are going to marvel at as they help him in and out of the bath.

Isn’t it Bromantic is the long-awaited fourth book in the Bromance Book Club, one fans have waited years for. That’s right – it’s the Russian’s book, at long last!

Vlad, widely known as ‘The Russian,’ has been a beloved character since day one. Since his initial introduction as the comedic relief whose biggest role in the series was to fart at inopportune moments, Vlad has become a fan-favourite, and I was so excited for his book! I definitely had my reservations about how Lyssa Kay Adams was going to pull this off – as mentioned, Vlad wasn’t exactly treated seriously in the first few instalments of the series. This book, however, totally blew me away with how amazing it was.

The first book in this series is one of my favourite romances of all time, but I’ll admit books two and three didn’t grab me in the same way. However, I’m pleased to report that this book bounced back with a vengeance. From the moment Elena stepped onto the page, I was in love with her – her quiet determination, her sadness, her fear of being a burden on those she loves. And Vlad… oh, be still my beating heart. He’s a gentle giant, a total sweetheart who just wants to make people happy. The author did a really great job of fleshing him out from just some comic relief side character who farts into a fully-realised and brilliantly constructed character with all these layers to peel back, and she made him hot as hell to boot. I absolutely adored both of these characters, and the book propped them up with a brilliant supporting cast that stole my heart from the beginning.

In addition to this, I really enjoyed the book’s plot. These books are, at their core, intended to be romantic comedies, and I feel like that essence has kind of been lost in the last two instalments. This one struck a far better balance between the heartwarming moments and the more serious ones, and although it did still have one subplot that was at odds with the rest of the book (Lyssa Kay Adams seems to like tackling quite complex social issues in her novels, which is fine, but maybe not tonally appropriate) it generally all came together really well. It also really revitalised the initial concept, which uses whichever romance novel the Book Club are reading as a kind of parallel that runs alongside the main story. This one has a bit of a twist, in that the romance novel is actually being written by Vlad, so you can really see the parallels to his relationship with Elena and how he uses the writing process to work through his emotions.

This book gave me exactly what I needed – two wonderful, heart-warming, sympathetic characters to root for, and a story that I never wanted to put down. That combined with the moments of lightness and silliness that I revelled in, and some of the most intense sexual tension I’ve read in a long while. I read a lot of steamy romances, and this series tends to fall on the tamer end, being a lot less explicit than many of my other reads. Maybe that factored into it, because everywhere we held back just let my imagination run wild, and PHEW. These two were HOT. Their chemistry was off the charts.

What I’m trying to say here is that this book was the full package. Amazing plot, great characters, sexual chemistry, heart, humour, vulnerability – these two characters’ wounds really spoke to me on a deep level. In addition to that, it acts as a masterclass on romance novel construction, and the meta-y aspects of the novel as that play out as the characters talk about romance in their books as we watch it play out similarly in their lives is just delightful. I adored this book, it was absolutely wonderful. 4.5/5 stars.

This is a perfect summer read. The continuation of the bromance book club is a delight. I think it could also be understood perfectly well as a stand alone book. I love how the male characters are portrayed within Adams books.

Wow! What to say about this book? It was everything and more. The Russian is the character that has interested me from the start and I’m so pleased we’ve finally got his story, and boy what a story.
I love the growth and development of this character, in the previous books I always got the impression that he was part of the reading group simply because he’d planted himself there and forced his way into the group. That the other guys barely tolerated him and really didn’t understand him, I mean they didn’t even know his real name in a previous book; and now they are bathing him and admiring his butt. The guys really stepped up and helped Vlad so much in discovering the truth about his own feelings and what he really wanted. Elena is an amazing character too, on the surface they both seem strong and confident but deep down they both have similar insecurities and love each other so much but are scared to admit it.
The book Vlad is writing was brilliant in helping to show the others, quite unbeknownst to him, his true feelings and allowed them to see where his heart was.

I liked The Loners and the fact that it was a new group of women that supported Elena in discovering her feelings for her husband and not just the wives of girlfriends of Vlads friends. It added a lot more dimension.

Vlad is an amazing character, so loving and not scared to show his emotions, I really wanted this to work out for him. The strength and dedication it took on his part to stay ‘true and pure’ for Elena showed just how much he truly loved her, and his nerves when they did get together were so real and honest.

I loved absolutely everything about this book, especially his weird love affair of cheese.

What can I say about this story other than be prepared to swoon! I have read other stories in the series, and thoroughly enjoyed each one, but was hoping it would soon come time for The Russian, as his friends call him, and boy was it worth the wait! He's always been my favourite character, and I loved seeing the growth in him and Lena as the story progressed. It's a fairly quick read (only about an hour or 2) but it didn't feel rushed or like anything was lacking (though I wouldn't object to a longer epilogue). It's a heartwarming, swoonworthy, romcom, that you won't be able to put down. I'd wholeheartedly recommend not only this book, but the whole series!
