I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

3.5* rounded up

While We Were Dating is the latest instalment by Jasmine Guillory and like her five previous books, it is loosely linked.

This one follows Ben Stephens who is working on an advertising campaign with film star Anna Gardiner with a dose of fake dating in the mix. There was a lot I enjoyed in this book, and I really liked both Anna and Ben as characters and liked that they had vulnerabilities, and I also thought that their chemistry was great.

However, the fake dating itself was a bit of a strange one as it didn’t seem to have the build-up and tension I would normally expect. I also thought the book had quite a slow start, although that could have been down to my mood when reading.

Overall, I enjoyed this and as ever, I like the author’s writing style.

Thank you to Headline Eternal for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A cute light romcom. I would recommend for fans of the genre, or anyone looking for a light, easy read

Ben Stephens has never been one to mix business with pleasure but when he lands a huge advertising campaign featuring movie star Anna Gardiner and she is as down to earth as she is gorgeous, Ben can't help flirting.

Anna Gardiner is hoping this campaign will be a great distraction while she waits to hear if she has booked her dream role, but she doesn't anticipate that Ben Stephens might be an even bigger distraction.

As the pair grow closer and closer Anna's manager has an idea that could help her career, but will Ben go for it?

I had never heard of Jasmine Guillory before her book The Proposal was picked for Reeses book club. After I read and enjoyed that one a couple of summers ago I was looking forward to picking this one up. As far as I know all her books are related in that characters overlap but each can be read as a standalone.

For me to enjoy a romance read I need to find at least one of the main characters endearing. In this case I loved Ben and Anna straight away. Ben was a genuinely nice guy who always went out of his way for people whether it was in his work or personal life, which is always a great quality to read about. Then Anna is the movie star with self confidence issues which she successfully hides from the world but the reader is privy too. The two of them together were adorable and both brought out the best in each other. While We Were Dating had definite Notting Hill vibes as the actress falling for the man on the street but Guillory also managed to bring her own steamy originality to the story. Her female protagonist's decisions were questionable at times but then she was torn between her heart and her head.

While We Were Dating is a swoonworthy modern fairytale and as such I'm just a reviewer standing in front of my followers asking them to read this!

This is the first Jasmine Guillory book that I've read, even though I've had much of her back catalogue on my TBR list for quite some time. But it certainly won't be the last book that I read from her.
This was a quick, easy read that I really enjoyed.
It was definitely nice seeing a main character who wasn't stick thin and blonde. The same can be said for the way in which mental health is addressed and written about.
I really liked how relatable Anna was, even though she was the celebrity.
And I'm always a fan of books and specifically romances/rom coms told from both perspectives, which this book did so well.
There was great chemistry and steam too.
I will say, though, it did take me probably about until around 15% to truly get into this. So don't abandon it if you're not really feeling it or struggling to get into it. It is well worth sticking with.
I can't wait to read more from this author and I'm very excited to see what she does next.

There are some books that hit the spot, this is one of them. To be honest, all of Guillory's books offer that satisfying feeling. They have the perfect blend of everything I look for: romance, steam, chemistry and depth of characters. I've enjoyed seeing "celebrity" with rose tintes glasses removed. It helped create empathy and love for our wonderful female lead, highlighting that celebrity culture can be cut throat and brutally invasive. Normalising how the 1% live, making the human...well done JG!

Such a cute romance story. I loved reading it. Full of diversity, lightheartedness, engaging writing.
I loved the relationship between the main characters. I'd read again from the writer.

I adored this, I enjoyed her other books and as expected loved this as well. Loved the characters and couldn't stop reading.

This was a nice, light-hearted, and easy read I would definitely pick up by the pool. I wasn't very interested in the character's relationship, however, and felt everything progressed too quickly. The dialogue between them felt very basic, and I was expecting more to be made from the "plan", but overall I did enjoy it. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a light-hearted summer read with some sexy scenes sprinkled throughout!

Thank you to Headline Books and Headline Eternal for letting me be a part of the blog tour for this book.

This book is a lovely, easy read romance (and even better, it's a series)! I adored this romance novel and absolutely love this series as a whole. This book is an adorable romance that also gets SPICYY.

I liked Ben and Anna, but I found Anna so much more loveable than Ben. Anna is so relatable, even though she's a celebrity. The characters aren't perfect, in the most perfect way, they all face real-life problems that they are working through, which makes the character's stories so much more realistic.

The writing style was enjoyable, with the story being told from both Anna and Ben's perspectives, which we all know, I'm a big fan of! I did find it a little slow to start, it took about 5%-10% to get into the story, which is the only reason it isn't a 5* read for me. The celebrity and fake dating trope are conducted so well and adds a sneaky element to the story and romance that I adored!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this eARC of While We Were Dating, in exchange for an honest review

I think I need to start by saying these are some of the hottest sex scenes I've read in a long while.

Kudos to Jasmine Guillory for writing such a sizzling chemistry that I fully believed between Ben and Anna.

There are elements of the fake dating trope in there, but I never remotely believed that what they were feeling was fake!

I'm rather glad I was reading this on holiday where I could take a dip in the pool just to cool myself off at points while reading.

It's sassy, its fun, it's hot and it's simply fabulous. Another wonderful piece of escapism from this rather talented author.

Thank you to Headline Eternal and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

A feel-good Hollywood rom-com, with ‘open door’ bedroom scenes, some family drama and lots of gentle humour.

Guillory’s writing is enjoyable and although her characters’ lives are far removed from mine, she manages to make them seem relatable.

I read this on holiday, and While we were dating is a great escapist read/a break from more serious or literary fiction.

“While We Were Dating”, a new instalment from Jasmine Guillory, is another happy ever after romance from one of my favourite authors. In her usual cosy and cuddly style, the author tells the story of Ben and Anna, but she also touches on the importance of good mental health and therapy, as well as racism, especially in the entertainment industry. It is a fun and steamy contemporary story, with lovable characters and relevant topics added to the mix. Recommended as a beach read!

I absolutely loved this book. A smart and sexy romance, with great characters, dialogue and storyline. It is the 6th book in the wedding series and I will definitely be reading the rest! Although it’s part if a series it can totally be read as a stand alone. Characters from a previous book come into it but if you’ve not read the previous books like myself it didn’t take anything away from the storyline or leave you feeling like you’ve missed something.
Ben is the prefect book boyfriend, smart, charming and very good looking but also kind, caring and compassionate. Anna is a famous movie star, she has a lot going on and has been suffering with anxiety. We see how being in the public eye can have a negative effect on our mental health and we are shown the highs but also the lows of being famous.
I really liked how this delved deep into feelings, mental Heath and how therapy has help both characters. It is done in a positive way with great writing that makes the book thought provoking but never too heavy.
Be warned there are some steamy scenes in this one, I sometimes felt it wasn’t always needed but defo not something that would stop me reading or not pick up more from this author.
If you want a great read this summer I highly recommend this one!

I absolutely adore this author and was instantly excited by this book. This has a gorgeous cover and is quite possibly my new favourite. I honestly don’t know how this review will do this fantastic book justice.

This is a perfect escapist read which I have found myself completely pulled into and unwilling to put the book down. This is a feel good read which is full of banter, chemistry and a mix of amazing characters. This is heartwarming and completely addictive.

I love Ben, he has made this book for me and I have been rooting for him and Anna from very early on. They just make the perfect couple.

This book has kept me smiling from cover to cover. I have loved that characters from previous novels have been present. This is just a perfect and gorgeous read which is guaranteed to melt even the coldest hearts.

This is a fun read which I have adored. I already cannot wait for the next book.

As a big romance fan, this book was right up my street! It’s the 6th book in the Wedding Date series from Jasmine Guillory however all can be read as stand alone so no reason to pick this one up ASAP!

This book has a bit of everything, fake dating, ‘this is just a casual fling’ trope, as well as dealing with serious topics such as mental health and reuniting family members.
I absolutely loved how everyone was actually emotionally mature and dealt with situations in the right way, something that sometimes is a bit hard to come by in a romance novel where miscommunication is rife! Ben was so wonderful at listening to Anna when she talked about her struggles, having conversations about consent and overall was just one of my fav book boyfriends
This one is a perfect summer read or as something quick to get you out of reading slump.
4 stars from me, I can’t wait to pick up the rest in the series!

This was part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Ben (advertiser) and Anna ( the actress) worked together in an ad campaign and soon after he became her fake boyfriend so she can get a big role in a movie. I didn’t care for the way she treated him as a fake boyfriend especially when he was so kind and generous to her. The way she used him was horrible. So my rating went down because of it. Otherwise it was a cute love story.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my copy in exchange for my honest review and opinion.

A perfect holiday read! Packed with romance, steamy scenes and feel good vibes!

I needed a light and easy read after a few heavy hitters and this was the perfect choice! I really felt connected toaim characters Ben and Anna and loved seeing their relationship develop.

An enjoyable read that also tackled some sensitive subjects, however some of it was a little cheesy and although good for some readers, I felt some of the sex scenes weren't necessarily needed!
