I've been looking forward to reading this book ever since I first saw the gorgeous cover...and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint.

I've always wondered about Raini. She's more controlled, "buttoned up" than the rest of her girls. She's still fun and funny and has a good time...but still. In this book we finally get to know the real Raini and why she is how she is. She's not ready for her psimate, so she avoids him. Until she can't.

Maddox, Raini's psimate/anchor, is a Descendent and controlling and dangerous and super hot and smexy. He doesn't want a psimate for reasons (although I don't see the big deal). When Raini needs a favor, he's more than willing to help - but at a price. Raini agrees to his terms since she's confident she can handle him. Can they keep each other safe when danger comes calling?

This book! Phew! The heat between Raini and Maddox is off the charts. They're opposites who fit together perfectly. Their chemistry just sizzles. I loved the character cameos from the books in the series, including baby Asher and Lu. The storyline is well-written and fast-paced. Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop until I was done.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Suzanne Wright is one of the few authors I automatically buy without having to read the blurb first. She could quite literally publish her shopping list & I’d one click it. I’ve got her books in all formats which have been read/listened to repeatedly & can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed. She creates magical, crazy worlds filled with angels and demons, imps and hell beasts, incubus and succubi and every other kind of mythical being you can think of. The heroines are typically all mouthy, kick ass women who don’t put up with any crap especially from their 100% pure alpha, over-protective mates and are more likely to be found right in the middle of any trouble……. in fact they probably started it!

Fallen is the seventh book in her Dark in You series. A series filled with demons based in the glitzy setting of Las Vegas. It’s the turn of Raini, a succubus to take centre stage. Her love interest is Maddox, is a descendent, so called because he’s descended from a fallen angel who mated with a demon hence the book’s title. They are anchors, fans of this series will know that anchors help to mentally stabilise each other and prevent them from turning rogue but it doesn’t have to be a sexual relationship. It can be platonic. Maddox however doesn’t want to formalise the anchor bond as he and his other descendent lair members a have secrets that have been kept hidden from the rest of the demon world. It’s just a pity his demon doesn’t agree with him.

As usual what made this book book for me is the relationships between the characters and the ensuing dialogues. From the drunken, random discussions between Raini and her girls – who wouldn’t want to go on a night out with this group? to the hilarious threats made by Raini’s over protective, knife wielding father and uncles. This is why I re-read these books over and over again and, as long as the voices in Suzanne’s head keep giving her such fantastic ideas for books, she will always be the go-to author for me.

Omg this was so worth the year long wait. Even though i didn't quite take to Maddox i still loved it. But i had the same feelings with Nick in Phoenix/Mercury packs and love him now so i think i'll be same with Maddox the more times i read it. Back to this book though, i loved how Raini stood her ground even when he thought she was doing what he wanted. Loved Viper and his lair, really hoping to hear more about them soon. Missed Larkin and after the brief glimpse into Levi i can't wait to read his book next

Wow... that was so much better than I expected and let me tell you, my expectations were damn high. From the moment Maddox entered the scene I've been curious about the guy, but I never ever expected him to give Knox a run for his money.

Now I've always loved Raini and this book just cemented that hard fact. She is awesome, as are all the girls... but she turned out to be even more kick-ass than I expected.

Now I am not gonna go into the whole plot, because that would be spoilerish and silly and I am anything but silly :P ... That said, fasten your seatbelts and prepare for an epic ride !!

Thankfully we also get some time with all our favorite guys and girls... of course, Khloe made me almost pee my pants... again. I would love to go out and get drunk with these chicks!!!

We also get introduced to some awesome new characters and I found out (with my amazing stalker skills) that Suzanne has some big plans with at least one of them !!!!!!!!

Next up is Levi, and with how this book ended... I can't wait to get my grabby hands on his story so time... please hurry the fuck up!!

Absolutely freaking wonderful!!! Loved every second of it. I am trash for everything this author puts out, but I can stay mostly unbiased even still. Considering this isn't the series by this author I love the most I might judge these books I touch harsher but this was everything I always wanted from this series and more.

Another Winner
I had a (ARC) and bought this book. This book was Amazing. I love the whole series but this one was Epic Ms. Wright took a world that was already built and made it more; the love story of Maddox and Raini was a build up. I feel like I truly went on the journey of how they fell in love. For the readers what never read this series this can be read as a stand alone; but why would you skip the other books in the series they are worth the price and time to read them.l loved seeing the previous couples and finding out what was happening in their lives. Maddox was super sexy, dominant, and complex character that most will drool over. Raini was deceptively sweet with a strong will and deadly secrets she was amazing. I loved the new characters that were introduced I can’t wait to read more from this world.

Fallen is the 7th Book in the Dark in You Series by Suzanne Wright and is the story of Rani Campbell and Maddox Quentin. I am a huge fan of Suzanne Wrights writing, characters and books and I have been highly anticipating this book since I finished Omens last year, and through the years I have learned that she never disappoints.

We were initially introduced to Rani back in book 1 of the series Burn, she is very close friends with Harper, Devon and Khloé. Rani is a succubus demon, or sex demon who gives off a preternatural allure that attracts others to her. One thing that we have always known about Rani is that she resents this allure and the fact that she is a sex demon. Unlike others of her breed, she doesn’t embrace it, and is always dressing to downplay her sexuality rather than enhance it. And throughout out Fallen we learn the reason why that is, why she is always concerned whether her partner is truly interested in her or if he is just caught within her allure. When Rani initially met Maddox, she had no desire to form the anchor bond with him because she believed that he was not a good person. But as we get into Fallen, we also learn that Maddox doesn’t want to form the bond with Rani either which really hurts her.

We initially met Maddox in Book 5 Shadows, when we learn that he is Rani’s anchor. Maddox Quentin is a breed of demon known as a descendant, which is part fallen angel part demon. While we only had a very brief introduction to Maddox in Shadows, he did save the day and Khloe in Omens which is when we learn that not only is he part fallen angel but part fallen archangel. Maddox initially comes off as quite controlled and cold, but he really is anything but. While Maddox wants nothing more than to form the anchor bond with Rani, we learn that he can not in order to protect the demons within his layer. Maddow is the prime of his Lair which is made up solely of other “descendent” demons which most believe is because they look down on other breeds.

Throughout Fallen we are introduced to many new characters like Rani’s parents Evangeline (succubus) and Lachlan (imp) and her uncles who are an absolute delight (anyone who shits in the yard of the people they “purloin” are automatically going to be a favorite of mine). We also meet the members of Maddox’s Lair, who unfortunately at least for me didn’t really stick out to the point where I want to learn or read more about them. We also met a new group of fallen angels who started an MC Club the leader being Viper a fallen archangel who I am obsessed with. We also learn that Levi found his anchor at the very end, which I am super excited about.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, it had my favorite kick ass heroine and strong and alpha male hero. But out of every book in this series I have to say it wasn’t my favorite. While I love Rani and Maddox, I couldn’t emotionally connect to them as I have been to other couples within this series. I adored Rani and could understand her hang-ups and issues and I adored her demon who didn’t take any shit. I think maybe I would have liked to read more about Maddox and his thoughts and feelings beyond his ownership and obsessions with Rani. But then again, I did stay up all night to read this book and maybe a re-read will change my perception.

I would still rate this book at 4.5 stars and an overall wonderful book with very well-developed characters and storylines. What I love about Suzanne Wrights books is that she doesn’t just create a wonderful story but an entire world with so many different characters to fall in love with. She is one of my all-time favorite authors for good reason and someone I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great book to suck you in.

That being said. Wow.
I love how Ms. Wright wrote these characters. Raini is a woman confident in her skills, her abilities, herself in general. But. BECAUSE she’s confident in herself, not despite, she gives Maddox the lead in certain things. It’s so refreshing instead of having a woman be almost belligerent trying to show her worth, Raini already knows and just goes with it.

Maddox is an interesting man who makes no apologies for who he is, and yet is willing to give it all up in order to protect those under him. I really liked him and can’t wait to see more of him!

Okay so if you’re checking out this review it’s either because you’ve already been following this series or saw this under new release. Let me just say that if this is your first Suzanne Wright book it wouldn’t be a bad starting place because while there are characters in this book from the rest of the series, this story reads more like a stand alone. If you’ve been following this series then get ready for an introduction to a new Prime and type of demon along with all their fun powers. I really enjoyed the MCs and their growth and acceptance surrounding their anchor bond and having to trust each other. Raini was powerful and strong in her own right, and I love that the author doesn’t do the whole damsel in distress waiting for a savior for her female characters. Maddox was possessive and protective without trampling all over his partner and I like that he respected her strength. Five full stars for a FANTASTIC addition to the series!

Unsurprisingly I absolutely loved this book. I shouldn’t be surprised because honestly if Suzanne asked me to I would read her shopping list.
I don’t know what is specifically about this series that I love so much but I can’t help it. The characters, the universe, the relationships, the steam.. you name it I love it! And don’t even get me started on imps because they crack me up every time.

I was curious about Raini because I felt like she was the one we knew the least about. And Maddox had just been introduced and he seemed really mysterious. Well let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed despite my expectations.

I can’t wait to read the next books in the Dark In You series to know what happens with Levi and Larkin. Because I have to admit that what was said and what wasn’t made me quite curious!

I loved it!!!!!!! Both Raini and Maddox were great. I knew there was more to Raini then she ever let on and I was not disappointed. There were some parallels between this one and Harper and Knox's story but it still felt different. The gang is there and working together. I liked how the relationship between Raini and Maddox wasn't rushed. It flowed more naturally and wasn't just tied to sex (that was hot too).
Overall, this is one of my favs.

This is my most highly anticipated book of this year. The only way I can put it, is that reading this book gave me those same feelings I had from reading Burn. The sheer excitement of the unknown. The knowing and promise of an unpredictable story with giant personalities you can't help but love. But also the knowing that Suzanne could right the alphabet and make it great so no matter what I'd love this book. It beat ever single expectation and then some.

Maddox was everything you think he's going to be, and then some. Overbearing, possessive, obsessive, and oh so dominant. He seeps sin and sex like a tall glass of water. He's arrogant and unapologetic and it should be frustrating but my whorish ass loved it. For a man that doesn't explain himself, a man that lies, cheats and deceits. A man that does nothing without a price. He was in fact nothing but kind to Raini. He was as honest as he could be whilst still protecting everything that mattered to him. He was genuine to her and her alone. The damn man is lethal.

Raini, oh my sweet sex kitten she is. Everyone... and I do mean everyone take what she shows them at face value. But do not be fooled by this one. She has many a tricks up those sleeves and down right shook me more than once. She's a quiet confidence, a strength from within. A woman who does not need to out power the room when she knows exactly what's she's capable of and just how underestimated she is but those around her. She's too nice for her own damn good but she's also nobody's fool. Also her demon is a whole damn vibe.

These two had me in knots. I feel I holy unprepared for their journey and the revaluations it would reveal. The relationship between Maddox and Raini is strained at first for many reasons but they had this undeniable chemistry and tension that neither could or would deny for long. It was the delicious slow burning anticipation that had me on edge waiting, wondering. I loved the the dynamics of their relationship. His hard, cold overpowering personality to her sweet easy laid back one really created this nice balance between them and it worked. He didn't overpower her, but she wasn't bothered about being in power either so there was never any real fight for dominance in that sense. However there was plenty of other fights that really only served to add fire to their already burning chemistry. It was all kinds of hard hitting in all the best ways. It's definitely not all sweet lovings and romantic declarations but I mean come on... I wasn't expecting that shit anyway.

It was a rollercoaster. Suzanne really does have a way with words and somehow spins these crazy tails of all kinds of outrageously dysfunctional shenanigans with these larger than life characters, and she does it so well she makes you love it and need more. Maddox and Raini made me laugh till my ribs hurt. They had me ranting and raving like a crazy bitch at the kindle. I whooped in excitement and I gasped in shock. Frankly I was a nut reading this book and experienced just about every emotion known to man. I'm a dramatic reader, what can I say. But Suzanne really delivered the goods here in every way. Their story is this tangled web of secrets and lies, of temptation and tension and pure undiluted chemistry. It flows seamlessly from one page to the next never stoping for a moment. Never dull or over exaggerated. Everything counted, everything had its place and a reason. It's a crazy world but somehow this author makes it feel real. Makes it believable and I was hooked from the first page needing to know more. Of course the characters play huge parts in this story and there is never a dull moment with the likes of Khloé, Harper, Jolene and the devil himself all together. As well as old we get some fresh blood and man when I tell you I'm so fucking excited for the future right now, I can't even. Suzanne is teasing us.

I always honest with reviews but I also love this series hard core so maybe I'm a biased bitch here but this book hit it right. Another phenomal addition to what is probably my all time fave pnr series and defiantly my most read pnr series ever. Fallen is a trip. Its crazy, unpredictable, action packed, climatic as fuck and full of sin. Honestly just get the damn book.

P.s... any lingering questions about Knox and Keenan are answered in this book.

4.5 stars

Fallen is book 7 in the Dark in You series and it's Raini and Maddox's story. I have been impatiently waiting for this book to be released since the events of Omens had Raini going to Maddox for help. I had a feeling they would be great together and they were. Maddox and his Demon reminded me so much of Knox without being a carbon copy. Maddox and Raini's beginning isn't the most pleasant since Maddox has no plans of bonding with his Anchor because he has a secret he can't share. What I loved is that when that secret is revealed he is all in with no plans of letting her go ever. As usually the connection between the girls always brings a smile to my face and now I must wait again for Levi's book.

I love this book! I couldn’t put it down.
Really awesome characters, interesting plot, great romance… what’s not to love?
Usually I know who the bad guy is or have just one suspect but in this one I was guessing until the end and even then I got surprised.

All the binge-worthy stars
I told myself to read this book slowly, I promised myself I wouldn’t binge read because I have to wait another year for the next book and what do I do? I freaking INHALE it.

Raini Campbell had always longed to meet her anchor, but when she finds out her psimate is non other than Maddox Quentin, a ruthless descendant with a reputation for being a man of few ethics she decides she wants nothing to do with him. But with the life of her girl Khloe on the line, Raini desperately strikes a deal with Maddox for help.

So Raini has always been a little bit of a mystery for me, for some reason I didn't really connect with her in the previous books as much as I did with the others even when they were all secondary characters, but I can't say I'm surprised that I loved her. It was so great getting to now our little succubus better and diving deeper into her character, she was loving and sweet and very loyal to her family and girls but she also had a will of steel and such strength to her character. I was intrigued by Maddox ever since Shadows and was excited to learn more about the descendants. Again he was the typical Suzanne Hero, in other words perfect; possessive, protective, badA Alpha. While you can almost feel the chemistry and tension between Raini and Maddox, this story was a little bit of a slow burn, especially when it came to the emotional intimacy between the main characters, but when they finally let each other in its clear that they were meant for one another.

Wonderful storyline with that classic underlying mystery threaded throughout. I have to say I loved the originality that came with Suzanne's take on the descendants and fallen angels, it's not an easy feet considering the PNR genre being so popular so hats off to Mrs Wright.

Literally 7 instalments in this series and all are 5 star reads, so it obviously goes without saying that you need these books in your life people.

Also I just the knowwwww the Black Saints series is going to rock my world, I'm already salivating.

As always, Suzanne Wright delivers! I never mind waiting a year between books in her series, because when we finally get them they are always, as ever, stellar. Fallen, as with all her others, has well-rounded characters, and a great suspenseful plot. I've been intrigued by both Raini and Maddox since we first met Raini and then learned that Maddox was her mate. I had assumed they would wind up together and that the journey there would make for a great story and I wasn't wrong.

Raini and Maddox definitely had instant chemistry and attraction on first meeting, but Maddox, for specific reasons, had no plans on forming the anchor bond. Because of this Raini had decided to keep a distance between them. The slow burn build up until their chemistry finally explodes was perfect. At the same time both of them have people causing them problems and creating havoc and danger for them and their lairs. This book delivered on the suspense, romance and all the fun with all the characters we have come to know and love throughout this series. This was a great addition to the Dark in You series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Piatkus for the Advanced Reader Copy. I have voluntarily left an honest review.

Suzanne is one of my favorite authors, so she's a pretty guaranteed buy for me.

Fallen didn't change my opinion of her or her writing!

Raini and Maddox were everything I wanted from them. Characters with major personalities, compromise thrown in when needed, and an unexpected ending.

The attraction between them was smoldering, and the desire between them became evident immediately. Understanding why secrets exist makes them seem more acceptable - unexpected and explanatory.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, and it didn't disappoint.
Starting with Suzanne Wright as an author, she is amazing.
As for the book, I loved it. The interaction of Raini, Harper, Devon, and Khloe cracked me up, it's hilarious :D
How Madox and Raini fall in love, how he is with her, sweet, direct, and protective, and how she accepts his secrets as well as he accepts hers ... it was sooo sweet.
I am looking forward to more books for Suzanne, this book was amazing :)

I haven't been this excited about an addition to the series since the last featuring Knox and Harper. Not that the ones in between weren't good, but this ones dives in with a Hero almost as alluring as Knox. Maddox is unbelievably strong, and cold, and controlling, and watching trying to hold Raini close but not too close was delicious. You are never in doubt that he wants her, even if she doubts it.

Raini was a revelation to me. I wasn't sure what kind of heroine she would be as she hadn't ever really stood out to me previously (hard to compete with Harper's bad@$$ery and Khloe's crazy), but throughout the book I was struck by her deep sense of loyalty, honor, inconspicuous slyness and her knock me on my butt Gift. Raini was more than a match for Maddox in every single way.

Their attraction and chemistry was present from the start, even if it took awhile to finally be acted upon. I loved that the conflict was external and the two came together to face it without too much back and forth. Raini is fierce and independent, but she never pulled the "I'll handle this myself, I don't need your protection." without actually knowing that she *could* handle herself.

I loved this book, and the characters. This series continues to be a favorite of mine because the characters, plot, world building, chemistry and banter are so on point, and I can't wait for the next one.
