This year, and I don’t know why specifically, I have become obsessed with books that are set on farms. So when I received the details of this one I couldn’t resist, and I loved it.

Eleanor is running away from her life in London and decides to seek solace at her friend Charlie’s family farm that she’s heard so much about, except when she gets there Charlie isn’t and instead she finds her brother Daniel and her baby daughter. Daniel takes Eleanor in and she sets to work on rejuvenating the neglected farm. All that matters now is can Eleanor keep what she’s running from away from her new home.

The story is told through Eleanor’s perspective and you can’t help being caught up in the journey she goes through from first arriving in Ferrington to the end. Daniel is also a great character, and watching their relationship grow and each of their individual developments is so lovely to read.

The mystery of Eleanor’s stalker has you guessing through the book. Whilst the underlying story of rebuilding the community of the divided village and seeing that come together is great.

This book is heartwarming, feel-good and full of hope and romance.

Thanks to Netgalley for this Arc. And for opportunity to read this book.
This was a warm romantic read. But it was a little slow for me to be a whole 5 Stars read.
So, 3.8 stars.

I loved reading this book, warm, kind and joyous.
Eleanor has to escape from London and finds herself and her car in a ditch whilst avoiding a sheep. She is feeling rock bottom and desperate to see her best friend Charlie.
Her life completely changes but the reason for fleeing is still haunting her, and making her feel guilty and ashamed.
The story of this book is a real hidden part of English history in 80's Britain and was just brilliant to read the effects in our lifetimes.
Well written, great characters and settings, loved it.
Highly recommended
Thanks to Boldwood and NetGalley for the opportunity to read early

Thanks NetGalley, Boldwood books and Beth Moran for an ARC to review.
A heartwarming emotional gripping story that will leave you feeling good.
As Eleanor is escaping her former life in the middle of the night she ends up in a ditch, lost and hurt.
Reaching her planned destination with the help of a kind stranger she is faced with another devastating news.
We accompany Eleanor in her transformation journey, where she not only transforms Damson Farm, but she also personally transforms and transforms lives all around her.
I absolutely loved it

This book came at an opportune time for me. I have been grieving the loss of a dear friend and Eleanor grieved along with me. At the start of the book she’s fleeing her life in London and finds out her friend has passed. As she’s trying to pick up the pieces of her former life, you can’t help but cheer her on. There are occasional forehead smacks and thoughts of “oh Eleanor! What are you doing?!” Eleanor goes through all the emotions and you follow along. There’s a little mystery, a little romance, a little female bonding, and a lot of heart. This book is perfect for letting you know that you’re not alone with the ups and downs of life.

A beautiful love story that develops from a tragedy. Well written with two lovely main characters. The love that grows between them is tender and true and portrayed in a realistic way, through the highs and lows of their developing relationship. Well worth a read. Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read this.

A feeling good book with all the right elements!

It tells a story of a helpless woman, recently shaken by a string of consequences after being forced to become someone she is not, all for the sake of being significant. She finds herself seeking refuge at Damson Farm, somewhere in Nottinghamshire. When life soon offers her a chance at a brand new start, she struggles to hang on to the newfound love, genuine friendships, and a sense of being at home, without having her past catching up to her.

This book delves into the critical question of who we actually are, urging us to cross examine ourselves if we're the kind of person we want to be. It also touches on a lifelong rivalry between two sides of an ex-mining village (based on a true story), and how they eventually comes together, by putting aside their differences and past wounds to live up to what their village had always been all about, and that is to always be a bridge.

I fell so completely in love with this story. It is told in first person from Eleanor’s perspective and I genuinely felt like I was experiencing everything with her. Though she is running from her own demons and is definitely flawed, I couldn’t help but love her and want the best for her. I really loved Daniel’s character as well and watching the relationship grow between him and Eleanor was so precious. I loved the friendships Eleanor made and the way she kept trying to do good in spite of the secrets she was hiding made her come across so real and so human.
The added stalker element within a love story was genius and it kept me on edge until the very end.
Honestly, I thought this story was beautiful, it was incredibly moving and heart-warming and I wouldn’t hesitate to pick it up again.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this e-ARC.

Eleanor runs away from her life in London and the alter ego food critic she created for a newspaper after finding her boyfriend has cheated on her and receiving threats from a stalker.

She decides to go to her friend’s farm in the Lake District, only to find herself in a ditch after trying to avoid hitting a sheep un the road. She is rescued by Daniel, who it turns out lives at the farm.

Eleanor is shocked to find that her friend has died, and left behind a young daughter, who has been adopted by Daniel.

As she recovers from the accident, she starts to fall for Daniel, makes friends with a couple of the locals and learns how the town is split in two by a bitter feud. Also just when she thinks she has escaped the horrors of her previous life, the threatening messages start again….

A nice read, this is not just a romance, it deals with the issue of bereavement, friendships and serious issue of stalking. Despite the more serious themes in this story, this was an easy read.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my review.

This is a gem of a book. It could be easily viewed as a lovely romantic comedy, but the story does delve much deeper and tiptoes into the realms of mystery/thriller, mental health and difficult family relationships.
Eleanor’s character is instantly likeable, despite learning about her unsavoury work history. There was no mistaking that she had been picked up on a tidal wave and had found it difficult to swim for safety. Her intern Lucy was an interesting character, who despite mainly only being mentioned occasionally, assumed a pivotal part of the plot.
I adored Daniel’s character, despite his terrible work life balance, he was dedicated to making sure that Charlie’s daughter knew only love and security. For me, Becky and Alice were adorable characters. Eleanor’s only close friend was Charlie, and she was devastated to have lost her, but Becky and Alice provided the love and support that can only be found in true friendships.
Despite Eleanor's problems and heartbreak, it was interesting to read about the feuding village. Beth Moran had clearly researched the issues leading to the bad blood which added more weight to Eleanor's plans to reunite the two sides.
This is an excellent story with plenty of twists and intrigue. I’ve not read anything from Beth Moran before but will certainly be correcting that.

This was a great read! Romance filled with a lot of suspense that kept me wanting to continue reading. I enjoyed the slow burn romance between the two main leads. This is more than just a rom com, would recommend.

First of all thank you to Netgalley for the Arc.

I thought this was a fantastic read. A great blend of Rom-Com and Thriller (which I’m usually too scared to read) this was a great book to break my aversion to thrillers!

This was a sweet read for the most part. Could have done without the lead lying so much but eh it’s par for the course in these types of romances lately. The setting was nice and the side characters deserve their own books.

As is often the case I started this book without a clue what is was about, I just knew it was meant to be really good. And it was!

Unlike many other rom-com books, this book is also a psychothriller, so basically combining my two favorite genres and it is therefore no surprise that mixed with the great characters this was a five star read for me.

The story is told first person by Eleanor and as long as I like the person telling the story, this kind of writing works really well. I knew Eleanor was hiding something and was ashamed of who she had once been, but I still really liked her. The true Eleanor had a heart of gold!

What to expect when reading this:

✅ rom-com handsome hero, grieving but so lovable

✅ budding romance

✅ cute baby

✅ quirky grandmother and untraditional parents

✅ new friends that show what true friendship is about

✅ mystery stalker giving reader a stomach ache

✅ village feud that needs solving

✅ adventures when trying to start a fresh

✅ proof that living in the fast lane in the city is not always what it seems

I highly recommend this book to rom-com lovers that will get a peak into the darker side of pyschothrillers and to pyschothriller readers that will get a taste of the heart warming effects of a really well written rom-com in a beautiful setting with great characters.

It's not often we get some thriller elements in a romance. I loved that! I was completely sucked in from the beginning when Eleanor heads to Charlie's farm running from a stalker.

The renovation of Damson Farm mirrors the healing and attention that both Eleanor and Daniel so desperately need. From there new friendships form, new businesses are launched, and a village tries to move on from the hurt and anger of thirty years' feuding.

There were lots of quirky characters and funny moments to balance out the sorrow and guilt that Eleanor and Daniel are grappling with.

The ending was a little flat for me. I wanted a few more chapters to see how the bridge and orchard projects progress as well as Hope's first steps, words, birthday. Unless we're getting another book at Damson Farm featuring Becky and Luke or Alice and anyone-but-Jase. Then I'm ok with this ending. For now.

I will happily read more of Beth Moran's work.

Eleanor is on the run from her life which seems to have spiralled out of control and she heads to her friend Charlie's farm but has a car accident on the way. This book has romance, it has stalkers, it has a village split by a decades old feud. It all makes for an enjoyable read!

💙 We Belong Together 💙
By Beth Moran
Publishes: Boldwood Press (August 17, 2021)

Is there a genre for coming-of-age for thirty-something-year olds? (Ok just re read that, what a garble of words🙈)

Eleanor finds herself in a minor car crash in the middle of nowhere after her life falls apart. The quiet, brooding man who finds her at the side of the road says he’ll take her to her friend without saying too much else. And he certainly doesn’t explain the baby in the backseat. Little does Ellie know, that the wee tot is actually her friend’s daughter and her rescuer is her brother.

Upon arriving at the cottage, Daniel informs Eleanor that her fun finding, (albeit maniac depressive), has died and he’s stepped up to be the father to his niece.

Reeling from the news and berating herself for not coming sooner, Eleanor decides that she’ll stay and help with baby Hope while she figures out what she wants to do with her life. And what direction it’s going to take. Even while she’s dealing with a stalker that pops up from her past.

We Belong Together is an easy read about the journey into finding our own happiness. The stalker and secrets part seem to just add to the tension of the novel but the heart of it has to do with Eleanor’s growth as a person.

Thank you @netgalley and @bethmoran for the gifted copy in return for an honest review. I can think of a copy ladies that could use this book as a backdrop to changing what road they found themselves on. That it’s never too late to find out what they love.

A lovely romance – with plenty going on!

Eleanor and Charlie have been friends since childhood and no matter how long it’s been, they are always there for each other so when Eleanor throws some things in her car and heads off into the night, it’s no surprise that she’s heading to Charlie’s. However, she finds Charlie’s grieving brother and her baby daughter at Damson Farm along with the refuge she needs at this particular time in her life. With a village split in two, a farmhouse in need of TLC and a baby and her uncle seeking solace, Eleanor quickly settles into the quiet life but how long will that last??

An entertaining story with so much happening! Nicely paced so that the tale unfolds in a timely manner – not divulging all it’s secrets at once. Cleverly woven bringing all the different threads together in a tightly woven pattern, always keeping the reader’s attention and with something happening right up to the very end. Beth Moran is an experienced author now – and it shows! An accomplished, appealing novel with a bit of humour thrown in too; highly enjoyable, worth recommending and I’m giving this one 4.5*.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.

We Belong together by Beth Moran is a delightful read following the story of Eleanor as she's driven to run away from her old life and falls into a new one. But no one can run away from the past, and while she forges ahead trying to forget the past, it's having none of it.

The characters in this novel are relatable and well-drawn and if the reader is hoping for a good outcome from quite early on, the author doesn't disappoint but neither does she make it easy for the reader..

A great read. Enjoyable and engaging.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my review copy.
