I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we get Cait Weatherby and Brant Remington's story. Cait is a woman who has seen more hurts than one woman should. She finds it hard to trust most of the time because of this. So when Brant really starts showing interest in her her immediate thought is to protect herself. When he comes to the cape to get a tattoo she realizes she has the best test in the world Tank Wicked. That man is a human lie detector and he will help her determine if Brant is a good guy like he seems to be or if he will be the next in line to hurt her. It doesn't hurt her option of her either when he not only saves her from drowning but the little dog she tried to rescue as well from the water. Brant knows he has to go slow with Cait or possible lose her forever. There is just to much of a connection for him to do that. But one step forward and two steps back have him hoping but worrying that she will never really see him. Can these two find a HEA or will Cait's ghosts from the past ruin any future happiness?

Another knock out story by this author. There is so much to tell but I don't want to ruin the story for any others. I will say these characters will grab you on page one and not let go of you even when the story is over. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Cait's finally found stability and family but she's not ready for love, or so she thinks. Brant feels a charge the moment he sees her but keeps his distance until the day she dives into the water to rescue a dog and he goes in after her. I liked this for the characters- well, Cait's really because she's got a tough background and is making her way into the world stronger, Brant felt a bit cardboard but the story pops along to an HEA (that''s not a spoiler because we all know why we read this genre!). Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Drowning in fear, doubts, self worth leave Cait not quite able to form attachments but Brant certainly knows how to love a girl and teach her how to swim thru her fears, her doubts and finally love with her whole heart...i loved everything about this book!!❤❤❤❤❤

Maybe We Should (Silver Harbor, #2) by Melissa Foster
OMG Melissa I keep thinking you can't out do the last book of yours I read - and then you do. This is the story of Cait Weatherby and Brant Remington. He is almost too good to be true and we all want our own Brant. She finds out she has two half sisters on Silver Island and is dealing with the abuse from her adoptive father after her adoptive mother dies. She ends up working for Tank as a tattoo artist and he takes her under his wing and offers her friendship and a safe place to land. When she meets Brant he does everything he can to win her over - but trust comes hard for Cait. We catch up with some of the Dark Knights and other friends on Silver Island. There is angst, fear, shadows of a dark past, tears, laughter, friendship and lots of steam to get us to their HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Funny Happily Ever After Entertaining Easy-to-read Tear-jerker Haunting Tragic Great word building Steamy Romantic Page-turner Wonderful characters

DNF @ 15%.
This was a no. The writing was sooo cheesy I couldn't get past it. It didn't draw me in at all and I was quite bored. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free preview in exchange for an honest review.

A tragic past romance with a happy ending!
Cait is a true survivor, she’s lived though some really terrible times and been in unfathomable situations; but she’s a fighter and her strong spirit and will are so commendable. Brant is the island hottie that everyone wants but nobody can have, until his eyes land on Cait. She didn’t make it easy on him but his gentle and subtle ways break through to Cait. The chemistry between these two was great and his understanding to what Cait needed was so special. Overall I really enjoyed the book,

Melissa has written yet another hit for her fans. Cait and Brent’s story tugged at my heartstrings and I was rooting for them from the beginning. One of the things that always stands out in my mind with Ms. Foster’s writing is that she writes her characters stories with sensitivity and caring. She approaches topics that can be off putting to some, yet writes them in a way that makes you comfortable in reading them. While Cait’s story was one that was sad, I was so happy with their ending knowing Cait’s future looked brighter with Brent and her family.

I am seriously in love with Brant! Cait is a very lucky woman to have found him. I have enjoyed all the characters living on Silver Island. I would so love to live there. Cait is struggling to accept her life with the family she didn't know about. Having lived through a hellish childhood, she is slow to trust or accept people easily. Brant's life has been pretty perfect so they aren't an obvious match. But the two just fit together. I'm always sorry when the story ends even when I've enjoyed it so much. Melissa Foster writes worlds that are so real that you feel a part of them. It pulls the reader into the story so completely. It makes me feel like the characters are part of my family or are my friends. I am already counting down until the next book in this world! I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wondering her whole life, who she really is, Cait Weatherby found she had two half sisters that she never knew about, after her birth mother’s death. Cait lived her life in the past shadows of her heartless, adoptive father that caused her mental and physical abuse since the death of her adoptive mother at the age of four. Cait finding out she had two half sisters, meeting their friends and families, and accepting their unconditional love and support, brings her to a crossroads of her past and present. Complications arise when Brant Remington, a sexy, boat builder, has an instant attraction to Cait. He attempts to break down her fears and apprehension plus take down the walls built around her heart. Her friends from the Cape and Tattoo Shop that have helped her in the past, become part of her finding her way. This is an emotional story that Melissa Foster tells so well and one the reader will definitely, remember. Scrappy, the rescue dog, adds to her finding her true self along with a Mermaid’s Tail! Great book!

Cait Watherby is a tattoo artist that works at Wicked on the Cape. She grew up in an abusive home with an abusive adoptive father. She found out when her birth mother died she had two half sisters Abby and Diedra. She feels she can finally stop running from her past and enjoy the her relationship with the family she has always dream about in the past. She has lots of walls drawn up due to her abusive past. Brant Remington is the opposite. He is open and enjoys life. He always knew the moment he saw Cait she was the one for him. Problem is she is not interested and fights any attraction she feels for him. This changes when he save her and a puppy from drowning. I enjoyed the book. This is the second in the series. Great characters. Recommend.

Received this book as a ARC from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

I have always enjoyed reading Melissa Foster's books and Maybe We Should is no exception. It was such a good book that I a.) read it in one sitting and b.) was really sad when it was over and didn't get to read more about Cait and Brant. I find that the best books, and some of my favorites, leave me dying to read more about them and extremely sad that I can't read more. Maybe We Should is a standalone book, and while it is book one would help understand some of the side characters it is not required reading.
Tattoo artist Cait Weatherby has been running since she was a teenager from her abusive adoptive father. But now that he's found out who her birth mother was and that she has half sisters and a community to fall back on she might finally be able to stop running... Currently Cait is commuting between Silver Island where she is helping her sisters run the bistro that they co-inherited from their mother, Ava, and the Cape where she works for her best friend, Tank, at his tattoo parlor as a tattooist and body piercer. When Cait almost drowns saving a puppy and Brant saves her life she gains another responsibility in coparenting the pup, Scrappy, with Brant.
While Brant has spent some time with Cait due to their mutual group of friends he has yet to be able to get close to the beautiful woman that he's so enamored with. But when he offers to share custody of Scrappy with Cait he can't help but also see this as an opportunity to get closer to her and find out why she keeps him at arms length...
Despite everything Cait has done to keep Brant from getting too close she can't help but fall for him bit by bit trusting him more and more, slowly realizing there is no way he'd ever be like her father. Can Brant convince Cait that she no longer has to run from her past, and can Cait convince herself she is safe to stay?

After trying to read the first book in the series and having to DNF due to some seriously gag worthy dialogue that was just so cringeworthy, I have decided to give this one a miss.

If you have been looking for a melt-your-heart, "feel good" story you need look no further. Melissa Foster has you covered with Maybe We Should!

Cait Wetherby is a tattoo artist who found a job with Tank Wicked at Wicked Ink and safety by Tank and the Dark Knights in Cape Cod. She just discovered the identity of her birth mother who recently passed away. That's sad news but this led to her new-found sisters Abby and Deirdra. And to another life in Silver Harbor. Now Cait travels back and forth between her tatto artist job in Cape Cod and assisting her sister Abby at the newly renovated restaurant, Bistro, inherited from their mother. What Cait also found in Silver Harbor besides two sisters she has come to love are some amazing new friends and Brant Remington who insists on flirting with her. Cait's past doesn't lend itself to settling into a relationship so Brant is out of luck. Or is he?

Brant Remington is a boatbuilder in Silver Harbor and he also owns the only equipment supply company on the island. He has a good life which he hopes will get even better after he meets Cait Wetherby. Her resistance to his flirting is a bit of a problem but Brant has confidence he can win her over in time. He sure hopes so because Cait is different from every other woman he knows and he feels there's something special about her that fits him perfectly. When Brant ends up saving Cait and a little dog from drowning he gets his break. Brant proposes joint custody of the little rescued dog, now named Scrappy. It turns out to be a super opening to time with Cait. Now if only he can break down the walls Cait has built around her heart.

Maybe We Should by Melissa Foster is the second book in her Silver Harbor series. This is a sweet, yet sexy, emotional love story. Cait has survived some very dark days which started to lighten when she ended up in Cape Cod and Tank Wicked offered her a job and his protection. I loved how that light brightened for her with Brant. Brant has had a great life and he wants to share the goodness and his love with Cait. His patience with guiding Cait through her darkness is one of the things I loved about this story. I always enjoy meeting each new couple author Melissa Foster shares with her readers. She is a master at telling their stories. This is a great addition to the Silver Harbor

Absolutely loved this book! Melissa Foster has been one of my favorite go-to romance authors for years and this story is one of the reasons why. I love the way the characters cross over from her books so seamlessly. Brant and Cait are absolutely perfect for each other. Brant never gave up once he set his sights on Cait and Cait finally gives in to what becomes a love that does exactly what it should- lifts them both up and makes their lives more enriched and fulfilling. The love and support of family and friends is huge as it always is in these books.
And of course I can’t forget to mention Scrappy, after all he is the catalyst that finally brings them together.
This was such a wonderful and satisfying read.

I have not read a ton of books by this author- but this story’s description really grabbed me from the start. I loved the previous story and was ready for the sister’s story.
The Silver Island community had a lot of charm and draw, and I was so happy to be back on the island. I also knew that for Brant to win Cait’s heart he was going to have to bring all the charm.
Given what little we knew about Cait we knew that this was going to be a very complicated and emotional story for her. She has a past that she needs to overcome. Brant might be swoony but does he have the fortitude to wait Cait out.
Typically, Cait is the type of heroine you can root for. Cait's resistance to her attraction to Brant felt over played. The push and pull of the characters at time felt overdone. Even in the moments when Brant is giving Cait the space she asks he is still there waiting for her to just in case. Cait continues to push him away even when he isn’t pursuing her. She really bugged me.
Brant is a charismatic hero; he is the light to Cait’s darkness. Individually, I liked Brant and wanted him to have his heart’s desire, but Cait just was cold. And when you put them together, I did not believe their chemistry. I cannot pinpoint one thing that felt off. It just felt the connection was forces and that Cait just gave in.
I typically am all in for the HEA but this time I just don’t believe it. I don’t think Cait’s feelings were there. I also found it hard to keep track of all the side characters. While I have not read many of this authors books at times it is overwhelming and makes it hard to stay engaged with this couple’s story. Maybe that is some of the chemistry issues the couple is sharing the page with so many other people that you just don’t ever feel in the moment with the couple. Maybe if I had read some of the other characters referenced or other story by the author it would be different.

Love Melissa Foster books and this was no exception!
After spending years wondering who she was, tattoo artist Cait Weatherby finally found her answers on the sandy shores of Silver Island. With two half sisters she never knew existed, a group of friends she adores, and a devastatingly charming admirer who flirts with her at every turn, she’s ready to figure out her next steps. The trouble is, Cait lives in the shadows of a dark past, and she can’t afford complications that might cause her to lose the family she’s only just found—complications like blue-eyed boatbuilder Brant Remington, who is as open as she is guarded. If only the sexy charmer would take the hint…

Brant is Cait’s opposite in every way, but he’s drawn to everything about the sexy newcomer—from the quiet strength that rivals the caution in her mossy-green eyes to her tough facade that he can’t wait to strip away.

As Brant works his magic, Cait’s walls come down. But as sweet as that feels, Cait knows how quickly good things can turn bad. It’s going to take more than a little trust to beat the ghosts of her past and claim the future they both deserve.

I was so excited to receive a review copy of this from NetGalley having read the first in this new series, which I loved.
Melissa Foster is a master of her craft. Excellent stories with fabulous characters, plenty of love, laughter, friendship and romance. I enjoy reading these books in their series order so that I am familiar with a lot of the characters and their back stories. But all the books can be read as standalones.
Brant is the perfect hero - loving, compassionate, sexy, caring and romantic. Cait is damaged from her past but craving the love and involvement in a community.
So if this is your genre it’s a must read

Oh my! How swoony is Brant? All blue eyes and dimples and a heart of pure gold. He is the perfect person for Cait, patient and understanding to help coax her out of her she’ll and show her what real love is. His whole family are full of love and positivity and I loved them all.

Cait is such a strong character also, she’s been through so much, suffered silently and on her own her whole life, that takes strength and then find the courage to recognise what she wants and then achieves it. Confronting her dad the way she did was brilliant and showed her true pure strength.

I loved the generational friendships and unconditional support that is throughout this book, the friendships are solid and I loved ever minute of my time in Silver Harbour and can’t wait to visit again.

I loved this story and how it brings together a couple of series (Silver Island and the Wickeds) . (It it a total standalone so don’t worry if you haven’t read any of the other books). Cait’s life has been turned upside down when she learned that she has 2 sisters. She is now trying to balance her time on Silver Is.and and the Cape- where she feels the most comfortable. Brant has wanted Cait since her met her, but he can tell she is holding herself back. I loved watching Cait deal with the demons in her past and really loved how supportive and patient Brant is— he is really the perfect hero. I also loved that we got to see more of the Wickeds (who I already love). Another fantastic read by Melissa Foster!

Although Maybe We Will felt dry to me in terms of romantic tension and plot, Maybe We Should made me fall in love with Silver Harbor and its citizens. Knowing me, it was the love/hate dynamic that sold me on this one. Not quite an enemies-to-lovers, Maybe We Should is an opposites-attract romance between shy, guarded Kate and goofy, flirty Brant, who tries his hardest to win her over. I LOVE that the catalyst for their forced interaction is an adorable dog that they save from drowning and end up co-parenting. This book is everything that I had hoped Rescue Me by Sarra Manning would be. The romance is full of chemistry and great banter, and their island family is delightful.

Just a couple of negatives stand out: the pacing felt slow in parts (especially when Kate kept trying to push Brant away), and, like many companion standalones, it felt like I lost too much by skipping the rest of the author's books. Without the context of previous books, many side character interactions fell less meaningful.
