This is a great way to wrap up an amazing series. I loved Gramps & Cassidy's story. It is full of passion, action, suspense, and great characters. The plot was interesting and wrapped up the series nicely. The introduction to the next series is slick & I can't wait to meet that group. Wonderful story for a wonderful series.

Another great series comes to an explosive end!

Gramps (aka Leo) and Cassidy were in High School together but he was a few years older than her and had no intention of staying around town so he didn't want to break her heart. but they stayed pen-friends for a while and then the letters just petered out. But when he learns the world of trouble she is in, he's ensured that he's the one to go in and get her out!

Cassidy wanted a fresh start after her divorce and thought Jamaica would be fun for her and Mario.
That was a bit of a miscalculation - now she and Mario live in daily danger and her son is being schooled in drug dealing! But with her letters to the FBI getting out, she lives for rescue. When a possible deadly encounter with a guest of the drug kingpin leads to her meeting Gramps once again, she realises that her rescuer is here! No to get out of Jamaica alive!

I loved the levels to the story - the rescue, getting back to the USA and then the 2nd rescue essentially. Lots of drama and action to keep the story moving along. I'm also loving the fact that the MC are my age! With the appropriate creaky bones and slowing of age. Mario is just so himself, he never attempts to change himself and how he stays so upbeat is amazing. Again, Gramps just subsumes Cass and Mario into his life - they are just his to protect, he doesn't want to change them in any way.

There is a great set of epilogues - all set years apart which really give a good glimpse into the future lives of all 4 Silverstone couples.

PS there is a cameo by a certain SAR team - another series methinks!

Trusting Cassidy by Susan Stoker
Silverstone Series #4

Saying goodbye to characters I have grown to know and love through the series is not easy. This book finishes off the HEA’s for the Silverstone crew of four men closer than blood brothers and in this one Gramps ends up with someone he knew in high school, knew was probably his mate, but never acted on it. So…kind of a second chance romance…maybe?

What I liked:
* Being able to catch up with the four men and their families
* Leonardo Zanardi/Leo/Gramps: ex-military, lethal, intelligent, respectful, patient, capable, has a thing for Cassidy.
* Cassidy Hewitt: divorced, single mother, nanny to drug kingpin in Jamaica, stressed out, fears for her life and for her son, Mario.
* Mario: Cassidy’s son, interested in dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, theater, and stifled in Jamaica
* That the team was able to get Cassidy away to safety
* That the bad guys were dealt with
* The way the Silverstone group were a team and closely bonded
* The women that were married to the Silverstone men
* The way Silverstone took care of its employees
* The CB use and truckers coming to the rescue when asked for help
* The epilogue that tied things up neatly.

What I didn’t like:
* Drug guys Michael, Lloyd, Martin and the way they treated people
* That all of the couples had to weather some hard times but was glad to see that they came through okay in the end.

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4-5 Stars

I volunteered to read and review Trusting Cassidy by Susan Stoker through NetGalley. This is the final book in the Silverstone series and could be read as a standalone.
Cassidy Hewitt and Leo “Gramps” Zanardi had feelings for each other while in high school. Being a senior, Leo thought he was too old to be dating a freshman so he didn’t pursue Cassidy. After school, Cassidy got married, had a son, got divorced and took a job in Jamaica which turned out to be a nightmare. Years later, The Silverstone Towing’s ‘secret operative team’ was contacted by the FBI requesting the rescue of a American and her son from Jamaica. Gramps, AKA Leo, is the last man standing among his group of friends. When they receive a letter from the FBI and he knows the author, there is nothing that's going to stop him from going to her. Every job is personal, but this one is extra special. It was really nice to see the slow build of their second chance romance. I enjoyed how the team and their loved ones excepted her and her son. It's full of suspense and intrigue and definitely action packed . The characters are unique and wonderful. This was a great way to end the series. I highly recommend

This is book four and the final book in The Silverstone Series and it is Gramps and Cassidy's story and omg it is definitely a must read and an incredible end to this Amazing Series. Gramps and Cassidy have history of nearly thirty years so when Gramps years that Cassidy and her son Mario is in danger in Jamaica and he is determined to get them out as safely as possible especially as the person involved is a big time drug dealer but he can't afford to put his team in danger even though they are going with him to help. Cassidy moved to Jamacia when her marriage failed and she got a lot off backlash from the community where she lives so when she was offered a job as a teacher and Nanny she thought it would be a new start for her and her son Mario but now things were getting dangerous so she had sent letters to the FBI to see if they could help get them out and that is when Gramps showed up to help get them out. Omg I absolutely loved this book so much and along with the suspense, action, danger, hope, love and difficult situations is what made this a real page turner that kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next and the chemistry between Gramps and Cassidy was so strong but he realised that she was his happy ending and was so patient with Mario that it brought me to tears how he just excepted how Mario was just different but an amazing boy but danger is just around the corner waiting to strike yet again but will they all get out alive only time will tell what the outcome would be. The epilogue at the end of the book was a perfect ending to an amazing series and I can't wait to read more books by Susan Stoker who is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and her books are so addictive and definitely a must read.

I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this book.

Susan Stoker is one of my absolute favorite authors so I've been looking forward to reading this book. The beginning of the book was heavy on suspense and very action packed. Gramps and Cassidy fell into their relationship effortlessly. I feel like the middle of the book lagged a bit, but it definitely picked up at the end. And the epilogue was such an unexpected treat, I really enjoyed it!

Susan Stoker has done it again. While I was sad to see the amazing Silverstone series come to an end, this was the perfect way to wrap up this series. I have been anxiously awaiting Gramps to get his HEA....he totally had my heart. I loved how this book unfolded, and while some would consider it a slow burn it was necessary. I loved Cassidy and how strong she is. It was so clear how much she loved her son and the lengths that she was willing to go to keep him safe. And the way Gramps took them both, loved them for themselves and the life they built. Also, I adored the wrap up of all of the men and their amazing ladies and the beautiful families they created. Well done, Susan and I am anxiously awaiting your next series and release.

It's Gramps turn.

About damn time, too.
Leo is "Gramps" and he has been deserving of his story for the whole series.
He gets a second chance with Cassidy, who was the one that got away. She has fallen into a drug lords trap for years in Jamaica and has been sending letters looking for rescue.

The action is brisk. Cassidy and Leo are age appropriate and not kids (they knew each other as teenagers in high school and its now almost thirty years later which is awesome).
Its smart, action packed, there is danger (of course) and the action follows them from Jamaica home.
Recommend.

Great ending! Loved this series. Gramps gets his story. Cassidy finds herself in quite the predicament. Cassidy doesn’t know what to make of Gramps at first. Lots of action and drama. Heart stopping moments and plenty of steam!

Ok let me start by saying that I have loved this series from the beginning. The characters are all phenomenal and suck you in and make you want to just keep reading their stories.

With that being said, while I loved this story-it wasn't my favorite of the series. It definitely is still a great read though! We saw how this story was going to start at the end of the previous book. So we know that Leo (Gramps) knew Cassidy from school. She was the one he never made a move on and let get away. He was always drawn to her and he never acted upon it. Now he is going in to try to rescue not only her but her son as well. Cassidy and her son are in the hands of a drug cartel. She doesn't know of a way to get them out of the predicament that they are in. So she sends letters just hoping someone will at least save her son. But when Leo rescues them, it doesn't mean they are safe from retaliation.

Like I said above, I did really love this story. It doesn't beat out the first one, in my opinion. But Gramps is a phenomenal character! He is smart, caring, protective, and just a genuinely good person. You can't help but love him. Cassidy made bad choices that led to bad situations. Did she know that going in? No. But when she was faced with so much adversity, she stood strong and did what she had to in order to try to keep her son safe and alive. I loved them together and honestly, I loved them with her son! The epilogue, oh man...I loved it. I always love seeing what happens when the years go by. How did their lives turn out? Did they have that beautiful happy ending that I picture in my head? And yes, yes they did! Epilogue was beautiful to read and tied up the whole series with a great big HEA bow that I love!

Another exciting and page-turning romantic suspense story in the Silverstone series by Susan Stoker. It features Gramps (Leo Zanardi) trying to save an old flame and her son from a drug lord. It was interesting and nail-biting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm sad that this is the last book in the series, but the Ms. Stoker does an excellent job of wrapping things up with a nice epilogue.

Many thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation. I also won a copy via a Goodreads giveaway.

I have read, loved and enjoyed every book of Susan Stoker’s since I have found her as an author. She writes wonderful stories with strong men and women. Having said that, this book dragged a bit for me in the middle and part of that could have been my fault as I was almost too busy to read. However, because I Loved Gramps and wanted his HEA, I persevered. I appreciated the way Cassidy matured as the story went on and loved, loved her relationship with her son Mario. I also appreciated how much Leo loved and accepted him. Overall, I have loved this series and felt that this was a great ending story for it.

Trusting Cassidy by Susan Stoker is a 4 star read.

Leo "Gramps" Zanardi had a history with Cassidy Hewitt that compels him to help her when her letters to the alphabet agencies are forwarded to the Silverstone Team. They had gone to the same high school and he had always been attracted to her but never quite pursued a relationship before shipping off to the military and ultimately into special forces.
Cassidy had made a few wrong moves that got her into the clutches of a drug lord in Jamaica. A job homeschooling kids in the compound of a rich man had turned into a nightmare and scarier still was the toll it was taking on her sensitive son. Cassidy had managed to smuggle some letters out but had almost given up hope when Gramps and his team showed up to extract them.
The extraction was successful, the drug lord and his empire destroyed. Even as Leo and Cassidy work on the attraction between them back in Indiana some of the henchman are not willing to let Cassidy escape. It's going to take some action, a bit gory adventure and a body count before things will settle back to normal.
Of course now that the men of Silverstone are all in relationships and becoming parents they decide to shut down their extracurricular activities closing this series. I hope we'll see some of them in other adventures from Ms. Stoker's pen but this book is a fitting end to the series.

I have loved all the books in this series but none more than the story of Cassidy and Gramps/Leo. A couple in their 40s, these characters were written to be realistic and mature, partnering in all ways to try to lift each other up (as well as support and be supported by the rest of the Silverstone crew). There are some difficult parts in the book- some torture that made me blanche. There are some majorly swoon worthy moments and Gramps is amazing. But the moments with Cassidy, her son Mario and Leo, and the love that just leapt off the page, made me find this book unputdownable. Yet another example from Susan Stoker of a book that has it all- wonderful characters, action and suspense and a fantastic couple and supporting cast of characters. I’m going to miss the Silverstone crew! Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an early copy!

After a horrible marriage, Cassidy, along with her son, decides to take a teaching/nanny position in Jamaica, but ends up basically a prisoner by a drug kingpin for the past 5 years. Feeling like things were getting even more dangerous especially for her son, she decides to take a chance and try to beg for help by sending letters to the FBI. Having connections with the FBI, Gramps aka Leo and Silverstone are made aware of the letters. Leo is 100% invested, Cassidy is someone he knew in high school and the one regret since leaving his hometown. After some undercover work and maneuvering, Cassidy and Mario are back safe in the US and settling in Indiana. Seeing this as a second chance, Leo was not going to let Cassidy go again. Unfortunately the dangers from Jamaica follows her and puts her and Mario back in danger.

Overall I really liked Leo and Cassidy’s story, the suspense in Jamaica and again in the states definitely kept me at the edge of my seat. The slow building of their relationship with a little bit of help from Mario was really sweet. The relationship between Leo and Mario was just as amazing! And I absolutely loved how they both had feelings towards each other in high school and finally getting their chance at a happily ever after.

It is bittersweet that this is the end of a great series, but I have a feeling a spin-off series is about to begin.

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake Romance for the complimentary copy of Trusting Cassidy. All opinions are my own.

This book is a great book ... I try not to use superlatives unless I've really enjoyed a book and I really enjoyed this one. This book is the 4th in a series and while each book of Susan Stoker's is a standalone - there are other couples that were in prior books that you might want to explore - that being said you really don't need to. You learn about the 4 friends that comprise Silverstone - all different but all brothers in arms. This is a book about missed opportunities/what- if's for relationships but so much more - thrilling plot line, endearing hero, steadfast mom, adorable kid, and an ongoing threat. It's a story about a mother's love to the core - what you would do for your child and how you want the best.. It's also a story about acceptance of others - loving people for who they are and enjoying their quirks, personalities, etc. The threat depicted to the heroine is realistic and makes you wonder what is going on out there in the world. Leo - aka Gramps - is the oldest of the team and I love having a story with characters who are mature to know what they want. You can tell Susan Stoker researches her story lines, and the background behind her characters. You care about them and want them to succeed. The secondary characters are just as fascinating. At the end there are some looks to the future for all the characters - you've do meet them in the story but if this is your first one of the series - I guarantee you will want to go back and read the others. If this is your first Susan Stoker - definitely explore all her series. I haven't been able to stop! Enjoy

This was a good way to wrap up the series. Not my favorite book in the series, but I still enjoyed it. I love the way Gramps and Mario bonded. Susan Stoker's books are a guilty pleasure of mine. I can always count on her for a quick, somewhat predictable, enjoyable read and this was no different.
