Gramps story and as we have waited for his story all along, I will have to say it was bittersweet for me. Knowing this is the end, I knew I would miss these guys and the loves of their lives.
However, I am happy Leo finally found Cassidy and was able to make her his. While a seemingly easy journey to get her out of Jamaica, the danger wasn’t over for her or her son Mario and he almost loses her again.
I am glad that Susan gave us a final ending for each one of the guys of Silverstone Towing and their families.

When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. Throw in a bit if suspense and this is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. This one took by surprise!

I’ve really enjoyed this series and Susan Stoker’s fast paced, super swoony take on romantic suspense and her crew of growly, protective, alpha men with a soft streak- the men of Silverstone Towing.

This final book in the series focuses on “Gramps” (aka Leo)- the oldest member of the team and the proverbial last man standing when it comes to the romance department. Through a series of serendipitous events (you will have to suspend disbelief a bit on it), he discovers his high school crush Cassidy is an unwilling captive in a drug lord’s mansion in Jamaica with her son Maria, and of course, the whole crew has to go and rescue her. Of course, he does- amidst a whole bunch of entertaining, page turning, danger, and they make their way back home to reconnect since turns out Cassidy is the one that got away, the one Gramps has never been able to let go of. Of course, danger follows, and Gramps and Cass have more than their buried feelings to contend with.

I really loved reading the heroine in distress trope with an older hero and heroine- and as always, we have a strong heroine (no useless damsels here) and a relatively low angst relationship with a couple that fall pretty naturally into each other- the drama is external, and I like that I can rely on these books for uncomplicated, lower drama relationship dynamics. The pace lagged for me a bit in the middle, and didn’t quite grab me as much as some of the others, though I still enjoyed this couple. I also really loved Cassidy’s son and that he has a meaty story to him.

The epilogue was an unexpected treat, and I loved getting snippets from all of the couples in the book and in the future in the epilogue to give us lots of great closure. I have really enjoyed this series!

This is the final book in this series, and it brings everything to a nice, tidy close. This particular story focuses on Gramps and Cassidy, and I really liked both characters, as well as Cassidy's son, Mario. I could literally feel Cassidy's desperation when trapped in Jamaica. What a horrible thing. I'm glad that she and Mario got their happily ever after, and Gramps was the perfect one to give it to them. This book has an extended epilogue section that gives a glimpse into the future of all four Silverstone couples years into the future, so if you've read and enjoyed any of these books, you won't want to miss out. Ms. Stoker is an author I trust to give me an enjoyable read, no matter what.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for providing an ARC for review.

Cassidy divorced her husband and took her son to Jamaica. What was supposed to be a teaching job turns into teaching in a drug kings house. Five years later, her and her son Mario, is still prisoners and she’s just about giving up hope. Gramps/Leo, a high school friend of Cassidy’s, was in special forces but now along with three buddies own a towing service, which they run special ops out of. The FBI received a letter from a woman, Cassidy, asking for help in Jamaica. Leo and his team go in and Leo is undercover wanting to buy drugs and sell them. After rescuing Cassidy and Mario, Leo convinces them to return to Indiana. Leo promises to take his time but he intends to woo her and he is not letting her get away again. But the drug kings security team tracks Cassidy down and he wants her to pay for her part in his boss’s death.

Second chance at love. Action. Sex. Be prepared for crying and have your Kleenex’s beside you. This is the last one in this series.

What a good book. Cassidy and her son Mario were being held prisoner by a drug lord in Jamaica. Silverstone was called in to rescue them. Gramps was really on board as he had known her in high school and had always liked her. It was tough going, but the rescue happened and Cassidy and Mario started over in Indiana (where Silverstone and Gramps was). Of course, not everyone was happy that they had escaped and came looking for them. Another rescue had to happen, but this time with dire results.
The story had lots of drama, romance, a sweet young boy and visits with all the people from previous books. They are such a close family. Love it. I loved that this book had looks into the future of all the Silverstone families. That was extra sweet
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

Susan Stoker has written a highly satisfying conclusion to the Silverstone Towing series. Readers, I have to admit that when this series started I had a hard time being enthused because of the stereotype that appeared in my head when I thought of a tow-truck driver. Needless to say, that has changed! These guys had exciting books and I liked the series more than the “Mountain Man” series.

This is “Gramps” book. Granted, the plot is a little hard to believe but go with it, because the book is good! My only other complaint is one I hate to make, but since I was brave enough to call out myself and the stereotype I held on tow-truck drivers, I’m calling out the stereotype presented about a teen boy who is gay. The character in this book seemed to be written way over the top. I’ve taught for nearly 20 years and I’ve never seen a boy as over-the-top as this character. I would have loved it if the author would have had the character presented in a more realistic manner. With that said, kudos to the author for presenting things in a way so that it is a non-issue for the family and friends.

I loved all of the epilogues that answer all of those “I wonder” questions that we readers have after the series is over!

Yea! A second chance romance with a couple in their 40s! It's great to see people with extensive life experience falling in love. Cassidy is a single mother to a gay son, and he was treated with care & respect by Leo because he deserved to be, not because Leo was trying to make good with his mother. I only wish Leo's nickname hadn't been Gramps (ick!). It felt like I was being constantly reminded of his age. The book also has one of the longest epilogues I've ever read.

3.5☆

This is the fourth and final installment of the Silverstone Series by Susan Stoker. In this story we finally get to see Leo "Gramps" Zanardi in action. This time  he's the one who'll do everything in his power to help Cassidy Hewitt and her son Mario escape from the grasp of bad guys in Jamaica.

After a bad divorce and abusive marriage, Cassidy was just looking for a change, to avoid the looks of disappointment from family and friends due to her divorce. However, alongside her eleven year old son, they find themselves captives by a drug lord in Jamaica; what was supposed to be a year or a year and a half stay, turned out to be five long years and Cassidy knows that they're coming for her son.

Now Gramps has to get mother and son away from their keepers. With help from the Silverstone guys, they managed to get away and back to the US in one piece.

With each day that passes old feelings resurface alongside new ones, making the attraction between Gramps and Cassidy impossible to ignore. However, danger is coming to their door  sooner than they expect. Will Gramps be able to help Cassidy and Mario before it's too late?

In my opinion it was a good story, we get to see the other guys and how some things have to end for others to begin. It was a fast paced story with a little of everything: action, romance and friendship. It was a great end to a great series.

I'm big fan of Susan Stoker and this book reminds me why. I love the worlds she has developed and how the characters are interconnected and yet their stories are uniquely theirs. Romantic and suspenseful, this is a perfect book to curl up with and read.

Trusting Cassidy was the culmination of the Silvertone series. Gramps and Cassidy are old friends who didn't take a chance on each other the first time. Cassidy is in deep trouble trapped in a drug kingpin's home in Jamaica with her son. The Silverstone guys are sent in the save the day. As with all of Susan Stoker's books, complications occur and threaten the lives of innocents. Can Gramps and the Silverstone crew save Cassidy from ALL the threats to her life? Can they be happy now? Read this story to find out!

The final book in Susan Stoker's Silverstone series is a relatively entertaining read that the author's fans will eat right up. Strong but vulnerable woman in a dire situation? Check! Hot alpha male with mushy heart of gold? Check! Loyal secondary characters from earlier books in the series? Check! Check! Check! Cameo appearances from other series? Why not?

In this novel, the woman is Cassidy Hewitt, a 41-year-old woman stuck in a drug kingpin's mansion in Kingston, Jamaica. After several years, she somehow manages to mail letters to the FBI (hmmkay). The letters make their way to the men of Silverstone Towing (actually, if I recall, this happens at the end of Trusting Molly). Coincidentally, Cassidy is someone Leo Zanardi (a.k.a. Gramps) knew and crushed on back in high school. The crush was mutual, but neither acted on it.

So Gramps and the guys head to Jamaica to rescue Cass and her son Mario. Drama ensues. They make it back to Indianapolis, but--after a bit of slow getting-to-know-you-again plot stuff--trouble soon follows.

My favorite part of the story is that our heroes are forty-somethings but we aren't hammered over the head with comments about it. i.e., They're just as capable and strong and sexy as their younger friends. I also really liked the character of Mario, Cass's 11-year-old son. He reminds me a lot of my own 11-year old somewhat (minus the drug-running part), and I like that his differences simply make him more interesting. An extended epilogue enables us to follow the four heroes and their families well into the future so that we can reassure ourselves of their well-being.

Overall, this story is good not great, but it's a fast and uncomplicated read that I don't regret.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

This is a well-written, entertaining, steamy, fast paced, romantic suspense novel, which contains murder, kidnapping, and drug dealing. It has likable, mature characters, a heartwarming second chance romance, a sweet boy, the strong bonds of friendship, and a happily ever after ending. This novel can be easily read and enjoyed as a stand alone, but is even better when read in order, as there are references to characters and events from the other entries in this outstanding series. Ms. Stoker's loyal readers will appreciate the nod to her next series, and the extended epilogue.
NetGalley and Montlake kindly provided me with an ARC of this novel, and this is my honest opinion.

I love Susan Stoker books. She has definitely mastered the formula when it comes to alpha male. romantic suspense. The men on Silverstone Towing have been a fascinating group - and the final book featuring Leo "Gramps" is no exception.

Gramps is the oldest member of the team of former delta force, turned tow truck company operators/assassins. Gramps is the last unmarried member of the team - and the one who thought he would never find a life partner. For him, Cassidy is the one who got away. Cassidy is a family friend from high school. When Gramps joined the army - both he and Cassidy drifted away from their friendship and Cassidy ended up in an abusive marriage with a young son. She moved to Jamaica to take a teaching job that turned out to be for a drug lord. The situation for Cassidy and her son is dire - and Gramps and Silverstone are sent to rescue her and take out the drug lord.

One of the things I like about Susan Stoker books is that there is never really any question about the relationship between the hero and heroine. In this case in particular, the drama between them is very low - and really focuses on the outside forces.

I also ADORED that Cassidy's son - tho young - knows who he is and that he is gay. The acceptance of him by Gramps and the team - is lovely, All of Susan Stoker's books feature alpha male personality - but without the side order of toxic masculinity. And that is something we should celebrate!

Overall - I enjoyed this book a lot - it had some wonderful moments - but dragged in places more than some others.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Cassidy Hewitt and Leo “Gramps” Zanardi had feelings for each other while in high school. Being a senior, Leo thought he was too old to be dating a freshman so he didn’t pursue Cassidy. Years later, The Silverstone Towing’s ‘secret operative team’ was contacted by the FBI requesting the rescue of a American and her son from Jamaica. Discovering Cassidy was involved, they immediately accept the job.
Drug Kingpin Michael Cash was holding Cassidy and her young son Mario in his estate after she started working for him as a live-teacher and nanny. Now Mario is being recruited to be a runner for the kingpin. Gramps team comes in, rescues Cassidy and Mario and takes them with him to Indiana.
Michael’s security head Lloyd robs the safe and goes into hiding after Michael was taken out of the picture knowing his lieutenants will blame him. Now Lloyd and his right hand man, Martin are in pursuit of Cassidy to make her pay for the trouble she has caused and it’s up to the Silverstone team to save them.
Susan Stoker is a great writer and leaves you feeling as if you have always known her characters after reading her books.

ARC received for review

Last book in the Silverstone series, and my least favorite of them.

Cassidy is the one who got away when their were teenagers. Leo/Gramps never forgot about her, and now she's in danger and needs rescued. He along with the rest of the gang get her out and bring her back home. Loved seeing all the previous couples. The epilogue was my favorite part looking at each couple going 5, 10 , 20 years in the future.

Gramps is the last one standing in Silverstone Towing and as the only single guy left he knows time is running out for this group of fighters before their heroic days are up, but a pleading letter from an old friend has him determined to fulfill one last mission together. Cassidy thought she was giving her son a better life by moving to Jamaica and fleeing her verbally abusive ex but she moved out of the frying pan and into the fire when her new boss basically kidnaps her and her son. After years she’s almost given up hope when a familiar face appears as a guest of her drug dealing boss, but can she trust him? Gramps is determined to get Cassidy and her son home and the ensuing drama of their escape is hair raising to say the least, but just when they think they’re safe the past comes back to haunt them. This is an action packed romantic suspense with lots of heat and the last in this series. There are a lot of familiar faces but you don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one, although I highly recommend that that you do. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review. 4.5 stars

A great conclusion to the Silverstone series by Susan Stoker. The last of the Silverstone gang rescues the woman he loved way back when but never had the courage to step up and make his feelings known.

After her divorce Cassidy Hewitt moved her and her son Mario to Jamaica for what was supposed to be a short trip to give them the time they needed to regroup and gain some peace and comfort. That trip turns into a years-long nightmare when they fall into the clutches of a drug kingpin. Desperate to find a way out for her and Mario, Cassidy secretly sends letters to the FBI begging for someone, anyone to help them.

When secret operative Leo “Gramps” Zanardi sees the letters sent to the FBI from Cassidy he knows that no one but the Silverstone gang will be answering her desperate pleas. He will finally get the chance to see and rescue the girl he let get away.

After the team rescues Cassidy and Mario they take them back to Indiana to start a new life. Things are going well and everyone is getting settled in until the goons from Jamaica arrive in Indiana with revenge in mind.

Once again, Susan Stoker gives us a strong female character. Cassidy and Leo will have to go through some harrowing circumstances before finding their happy endings. This may be the conclusion to the Silverstone gang but it looks like we will be meeting a new gang of heroes. Looking forward to meeting them!

Friendship and teamwork reign in this series. No matter what, Smoke, Bull, Eagle and Gramps have each other's back. They made a pact and stick to it.

This is about Leo aka Gramps. He is the only remaining single man in his group. When the team is called to investigate and save a woman and her captive son from Jamaica, it turns out that she is someone Gramps had a crush on when in high school.

Cassidy is divorced. She has a son and moving to Jamaica was just what she needed to get away from those who were ready to judge. Instead of turning out the way she expected, she finds herself and her son being held captive by an unscrupulous drug lord.

Gramps goes undercover, and is not too happy by what he finds. Still if he wishes his mission to be a success, he has to act his part. Cassidy doesn't know what to make of his presence. Will he be able to convince her that he is there to help?

Gramps is a champion. He takes to her son, Mario and earns his trust. The camaraderie is refreshing. There are some horrid episodes, but the love and dedication make up for it. It's beautifully wrapped up by showing their lives in a few years from now.
