Three women, three sets of lies. Saylor hosts a housewarming and gender reveal party when she moves to a new home so that she can meet her neighbours. Single mum Celeste and famous vlogger Frankie are welcoming but all three women are hiding behind a complex web of lies and secrets...
The Liar Next Door is a tense thriller which has a psychological yet domestic edge. Every chapter ends with the narrator pondering on her situation, a little mini cliffhanger that kept me hooked as I wanted the truth!
The blurb only focuses on the final part of the book as the majority of the plot builds up the relationships between the three women and hints relentlessly at the deeper secrets hidden beneath the personae presented to the community.
The book is written from 3 first person perspectives: Celeste, Saylor and Frankie in the present day and then Frankie also in the past. All of the women are very likeable and the tension radiates from them as they struggle to live with their lies.
I was totally engrossed in this story and frequently trying to guess at how the plot strands would develop. The author has cleverly constructed the women's lives to deliver little clues to us as we read. However, I doubt that anyone would guess how the final chapters will play out...
The Liar Next Door was a captivating thriller that I really enjoyed reading.

So many secrets and lies!

Living in a close knit community sounds like a dream come true, but is it? All of the characters have a story to tell and all of them have juicy, sordid skeletons in their closets. The books goes back and forth from Frankie’s past to her present. Woven into that are stories about Celeste and Saylor. Its a gripping, fast paced ride that will keep you quickly turning the page to the next twist and turn until the intense and satisfying ending that doesn’t disappoint.

When you read a lot of books, particularly when many of them are mysteries and thrillers, gradually there will be very few books that can manage to shock you. The Liar Next Door has managed to do just that and in a spectacular manner too. Nicola Marsh is a brilliant writer. She has managed to a weave a story around people, who are all gray, and every one of them have secrets of their own.

We are thrown into a society of people of the upper middle class and surrounded by their lives instantly, as soon as we start reading the book. What initially seems to be a regular story about the various personalities in the society and how they get along together, turns into something else entirely soon enough. As if that is not enough, we are taken into one incredible twist after another, finally culminating into a major twist which I must say I never saw coming. Of course, there were also some secrets I guessed, but these were outweighed by the unexpected ones.

But unlike books which only concentrate on shocking the reader, rather than on the plot and the characters, this book actually took time to show all the characters for what they are - their good and their bad. It also explains what they are and why they did the things they did. And this is what actually made this book fulfilling for me.

The author's narrative and pacing were just on point and the mood of the book was consistently intriguing and thrilling - but not too dark. Nicola Marsh manages to create a thrilling atmosphere through the book without making it too hard for the reader to read. This is the perfect book for anyone who likes to read a book which revolves and is driven by human beings and their faults.

This book deserves 5 stars. I am thankful to Netgalley, the publisher and the author Nicola Marsh for this ARC. I have gotten this ARC in exchange for my honest review and all opinions in this review are my own.

In The Liar Next Door, we follow neighbors Frankie, Saylor, and Celeste as they hold their secrets close. We find out that these three women are somehow linked as the narration switches between multiple points of view. The twists and turns kept me guessing and I enjoyed this fast-paced thriller.

Loved this book! It moved quick and stayed interesting. Saylors chapters were a little repetitive but overall good!

Frankie, Celeste and Saylor are neighbours who are hiding major secrets. Frankie is committed to playing the part of a picture perfect wife and mother to her online followers, Celeste is a newly single mum who appears to have escaped a violent husband and Saylor is the young pregnant newly wed who seems a little too taken with the husband single man who lives across the park. This one was full of non stop twists and turns that really ramped up halfway through the novel and kept coming right until the end. Just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist came at me. A really enjoyable read!

Nicola Marsh did it again! Her newest domestic thriller tells the story of envy and betrayal in suburbia in a way like no other! I was literally filled with a sense of dread as I was turning the pages, until the book reached the most satisfying conclusion!

This is one of those books where a review could really spoil it so I will review without using character names and keeping it short and sweet.

3 neighbours all with secrets some worse than others. They all have a reason for hiding their truth but one secret will tie them together the question is whose? And why?

I just loved this book do much it was one of these books where you will think you've solved the twist and another five come flying out. It was honestly so well written. Each woman is hiding a secret and each secret has the ability to destroy lives. I found the fact we follow all three ladies was a very well written choice of the authors. I found myself getting attached to character for different reasons. One of the ladies histories plays a big role in the book and we jump between timeliness throughout which added to the plot in more ways than you can imagine.

The prose is outstanding the way scenes are described is second to none I found myself seeing what I imagined out characters were seeing and it is truly a talented writer who can do that I also love it when we have an extra pov in the novel which is later revealed I had guessed the twist but the wrong character 😀. Honestly the talent behind the way the author writes espically with the twists and turns is extraordinary!!

All in all I would recommend this book to any of my fellow lovers of psychological thrillers as this is just that! As usual we have the more tense scenes at the end but those later couple of chapters took turns I never expected and had me re reading pages. I absolutely loved the liar next door and rate it 4 stars

How well do you think you know your neighbours, would you trust them? Watch how these families are blown apart by lies and deceit in this domestic psychological thriller.

The Liar Next Door by Nicola Marsh is set in a close knit community where thirty houses surround a lush green park square, perfect for both kids and adults to congregate and have playtime and parties.

Frankie has a thriving career as a lifestyle vlogger, she’s lived here at Hambridge Heights for five years. Frankie is married to Andre and they have a five year old daughter named Luna.

New neighbours have just moved into the street, a single mother Celeste and her daughter Violette. Saylor, twenty eight weeks pregnant and her husband Lloyd are also new to the neighbourhood.

These three neighbours, Frankie, Celeste, and Saylor all have their own stories, Frankie’s story is told in the present and the past. The story unfolds with a stack of drama and twists and a mountain of secrets are exposed.

I didn’t find any of the characters particularly likeable, except for the children Luna and Vi who instantly become best friends, they were sweet!

The story is entertaining, fast paced and a very easy read although there was a bit too much repetition at times which spoilt the flow for me.

I think readers who enjoy soap opera fiction will absolutely love this book especially when things come undone and the lies, manipulation and scandals are exposed.

The Liar Next Door lives up to its hype of being “an absolutely unputdownable domestic thriller”. I absolutely loved this book, couldn’t put it down and hated to see it end! There are all kinds of secrets in Vintage Circle in Hambridge Heights. And just for the record there is more than one liar in this drama. Cheating, betrayal, blackmail, kidnapping: this book has it all. There are so many crazy twists and revelations that keep you on your toes throughout the book. You will keep turning pages in order to see what could possibly happen next. Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book!

This book was amazing!

It's a psychological thriller with so much twists and turns that it will have your head spinning until the end.

The beginning starts out slow but as the story progresses the slow build up starts gaining tension and suspense and as it all comes together you have to literally grip the edge of your seat until the very end.

Highly recommended
