This was a heartwarming Christmas read, however not a favourite of mine. I wasn't a big fan of Seb and Christy's storyline, it was very slow-paced and didn't pick up until nearing the end of the book. I did however, enjoy Alix and Zac's storyline, I was really invested in that one and would have loved if the story was solely around them.

i so wanted to love this book especially with this time of year. Although a sweet read that was located in a great setting. I felt there was parts that repeated and could have been left out. It would make a great novella. A good read just not for me.

It didn’t take long to fall under the spell of the beautiful Northern Lights and snow spa which are enchanting.

The character of Hollie captured a child’s Christmas spirit wonderfully.

Romance, Lapland, Christmas festivities and cosy cabins made for a wonderful, feel-good story.

Thank you HarperCollins publishers for the approval in return for an honest review and NetGalley.

Christmas time, plans all in place
When reading an email causes an about face
Shocking revelations
May mar the celebrations

The planned Lapland visit may need changing
Who goes when, needs rearranging,
But a child's dream or reindeer and snow
Means they all must eventually go.

An aunt unknown for more than thirty years
Will reconnecting bring happy or sad tears?
Secrets from the past, long concealed,
What will happen when they're revealed?

With friendships and romance
With opportunities to give love another chance,
This is a moving, heartwarming read
Just the kind that at Christmas I need!

What a fantastic story, I hope you'll agree
With relationships the focus - and Lapland - you'll see.
The characters are brilliant, surprises galore
In this festive read, the kind I adore.

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.

The main characters include Christy and Seb. Being a known ‘playboy’, Seb is not Christy’s typical ‘type’ but they ended up marrying because Christy was pregnant.

Her best friend is Alix. Alix tried to talk Christy out of the wedding by telling her Seb would cheat on her – on the day before the wedding! Alix’s advice may come back to haunt Christy in the end, when she finds a secret message that points to Seb meeting up with another woman.

Zac is Seb’s best friend and something happened between him and Alix at the wedding. It was bad enough to cause Alix to avoid him ever since.

Christmas is coming and Christy’s family are all suppose to be spending it in Lapland. It will give Christy the chance to see her aunt for the first time since she was three years old, as her aunt runs the resort they are staying at. It will also give Christy the opportunity to find out why her mother cut her aunt out of their lives all those years ago.

Last minute, Seb announces he will be late in joining Christy (and their daughter, Holly) on their family holiday, but insists Christy go on without him. Christy decides she will send Holly to Lapland with Alix, and then travel with Seb, so she can find out exactly what Seb has been up to. Seb finds out and asks Zac to join Alix, without telling anyone else, as he doesn’t trust Alix to take care of Holly on her own.

Filled with mystery, misunderstandings, and holiday love, The Christmas Escape by Sarah Morgan kept me turning the pages. Thank you to publisher, Harper Collins Publishers Ltd, and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for a free copy.

The Christmas Escape - Sarah Morgan

What can I say I just adore Sarah Morgan books (in particular her Christmas editions)! From scene setting, characterization, romance, friendship, and Christmas magic, this book will give you all the feels and leave you with the perfect ending. After reading this, who wouldn't want to see the Northern Lights for themselves? Overall I just really recommend all of Sarah Morgan's books for all ages to read.

Christy is looking forward to spending Christmas with her estranged aunt, best friend, her husband Seb and young daughter.
When some personal issues arise, Christy realises that she must stay at home with her husband and delay her trip to Lapland and so asks her best friend, Alix, to take her daughter ahead of them.
After reluctantly agreeing, Alix is not best pleased to discover that Seb’s friend will be accompanying her to help babysit, especially as there is clearly some unfinished business between the pair.
The chemistry is palpable, but Alix is determined not to let her guard down.
Can the foursome overcome their issues to enjoy a magical Christmas getaway at Lapland?
This was a fun festive read, I really enjoyed the banter between the characters and laughed out loud reading it.

This is a very cute read if you're into Christmas romance stories with a little bit of magic in them. The story is told from a few perspectives but we see all of these perspectives synchronise towards the end of the book.

Robyn lives in Lapland and is finally reuniting with her estranged niece Christy years after a major fall out with her sister. Despite her nervousness Robyn cannot wait to reconnect with her niece and her lovely daughter Holly. Christy on the otherhand is at home worried that her marriage is on the brink of disaster when husband Seb suddenly withdraws and tries to put off going on holiday. Determined to get to the bottom of Seb's mysterious mood swings Christy enlists best friend Alix and Seb's friend Zac to travel to Lapland with Holly before she joins at a later stage. The problem is, however, that Alix and Seb hate each other. Is this trip destined to end in disaster.

As said before the book is very cute and very reminiscent of Hallmark Christmas movies.

I knew as soon as I read the blurb and saw that Lapland was the setting for this story that it was going to be a magical read.
I’ve been to Lapland and it’s the perfect place for a magical Christmas, so I could really picture this story in my mind.

There was plenty going on within the story, which was told from the views of Christy, Alix and Robyn.
I really liked the character, Alix, especially as she worked with toys , she is like a Mrs Claus to little Holly , supplying her with the latest toys.

Perfect for cosying up in front of the fire with a hot chocolate.
