Christy always dreamed of an idyllic country life with her daughter and husband, Seb but the cottage they bought isn't living up to expectations and Seb is acting strangely distant and working late with unexpected meetings. Christy is starting to wonder if her best friend Alix's warnings about Seb were true. Christmas was always her favourite time of year and this year they were meant to be travelling to Lapland to visit her long lost Aunty and search for the Northern Lights but a crisis makes it seem an impossible dream. Lovely atmospheric seasonal story.

Classic festive lovely read from Sarah Morgan. She really makes you care about the characters so you’re cheering them on/have your face in your hands when they make mistakes.
Great little mystery teased throughout too. Definitely read if you’re after a cosy festive read

Sarah Morgan has penned another lovely book. I was given a review copy and despite it being a hot summer’s day when I read it, I was immediately transported to Lapland at Christmastime. A fine romance intertwined with the tale of a complex friendship that had altered since childhood. A most enjoyable read.

OMG! I don’t know how it happened: one minute I sat down to read the first few pages whilst I waited for the microwave to ping and the next it was late afternoon, my porridge was cold and uneaten and I was just finishing the last page.
I love Sarah Morgan books, especially at Christmas but this one was by far my favourite. Set in Lapland it centres around the three narrators that the author typically uses. The three women: Christy, Alix and Robyn negotiate their own relationships and those with others in the run up to Christmas. I loved the romance between Alix and Zac and particularly related to Alix and her struggles with relationships and intimacy but Christy’s problems were also so relatable.
Absolutely must read for this Christmas but the only problem? I’ve already started looking at trips to Lapland as this book desperately made me want to go.

Definitely a Christmas book to escape into. A light-hearted romance when the friends of Seb and Christy take their daughter to Lapland for a Christmas break with Christy's estranged aunt, Robyn. Along the way we discover why the path to romance has not been smooth and Christy learns more about her aunt.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved the detailed description of Lapland and the auroras, I've always wanted to visit and after reading this book its made me want to go all the more
We follow life long friends Christy and Alix through the ups and downs of their relationship the twists, turns and romance along the way, loved the characters and the lovely rebel aunt Robyn who Christy can't remember because her mother wouldn't allow her to be mentioned it
Overall a lovely christmasy read which was well written and descriptive

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I was captivated from the very beginning. A wonderful Christmas escape to lapland with the twists and turns both in a life long friendship and a wonderful romance. I loved it and didn't want it to end. This book will definitely make your Christmas. Reading it during a heatwave made me long for some snow.

Another intense story of love and friendship set in Lapland by Sarah Morgan. A brilliant book. You had the friendship element between Christy and Alix. That was a friendship tested but it came good. Trusting your child with any one is brave and Christy did. I liked the character of Zac. Holly was a wise child beyond her age at times with the romance.. Seb not sure of. You would hope what ever your relationship your husband would tell you that news..I won’t spoil it. A must read.

A decent enough story and better written than others in its genre (maybe I am getting a bit jaded!) but I wonder if I'll remember this book in three months time and the answer is probably no.

I adore Sarah Morgan’s books and usually rate them 4/5 stars.. she creates complex, interesting characters and puts them in realistic, stressful situations and we get pleasure out of how they negotiate their journey thought he obstacles. Here I felt overwhelmed by the plethora of characters: Robyn and Erik in Lapland who had a happy and satisfying life together but with Robyn suffering from a seriously painful, breakup from her sister. Christy and Alix as lifelong friends, Christy’s husband Seb, his friend Zac and then Holly the daughter of Seb and Christy.

I loved Zac and Seb but found it difficult to empathise with Alix and found Christy a difficult character to understand.

Alix was a pain throughout the book, suspicious, distrustful, self absorbed. All of the angst which surrounded the other characters was made worse by Alix’s insensitivity and self centred approach to everyone else.

Sarah Morgan has created such realistic characters that I believed in them and disliked some whilst loving others. That takes a great writer.

I love Sarah Morgan's books. There is so much love and emotions in them that it makes my heart a mush.

This book too was wonderful with descriptions of Swedish Lapland. The writing was brilliant and the characters so well fitted for the setting. Some of them rushed right into my heart and a couple got on my nerves. Robyn was really sweet. With different POVs, the story made me smile, giving me a good cheer during the warm month.

Christy and her family were going to Lapland to visit the aunt she'd never met but then things started to go wrong. Wonderful book and great descriptions of Lapland

I've read a lot of books by Sarah Morgan so I know what to expect. It's a seasonal offering so it's Christmas and there are relationships to be sorted out. Naturally there's a precocious child and a dog and snow, this time in Swedish Lapland. Yes, I've read it all before, but Sarah Morgan writes with energy and passion and attention to characterisation. I can take or, preferably, leave the child and dog but I enjoyed this as I knew I would. Books don't always have to surprise or shock you; sometimes they scoop you up into a well-created story.

Alix and Christy have been best friends since they were 8 years old. Alix has always spent Christmas with Christys’ family, and this year is no exception. Except this time it would be in Lapland, where Christy will be meeting her Aunt Robyn for the first time. At the last minute, Christy and Seb, her husband, had to stay in England for a meeting which meant that Alix would be in charge of their 5 year old daughter Holly for 2 days on her own. That is until Christy tells her that Zac, Sebs best friend, would also be going. Having spent the last 5 years trying to avoid him after making a fool of herself at Christy and Sebs’ wedding, this was not something she wanted. However, a promise is a promise, especially to your best friend.

Reading a book set in Lapland while sitting sweltering in a heatwave just makes you realise how good the writing is, as it draws you in to all things Christmasy and freezing. It’s an easy and satisfying read, with nicely rounded characters. I particularly liked Robyn and Zac. I sometimes felt a bit frustrated with both Alix and Christy, with some of the decisions they make but ultimately you know things will be ok. Having been to a similar set up in Lapland (although not at an establishment as exclusive as Robyns) I could really imagine the scenery and the activities. All in all a thoroughly good read and a good read is definitely not just for Christmas.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I was pleased to get this book as I was looking for something more lightweight after several harrowing reads.
This was my first book by this author
Reading about Xmas in July with the sun beating down was a bit odd but enjoyable nonetheless.
I have always wanted to visit Lapland so this added to the book's appeal.
Overall I did enjoy the book and it was the perfect tonic . The characters were well drawn and I found myself empathising mostly with Robyn. Christy and Alix were somewhat exasperating I must admit
Each chapter has a different POV from the female characters
Somewhat bizarrely (and it did jar considerably) was reading a book set in UK and Europe with American spellings/grammar and phrasing. This I found very off-putting and it did disturb the flow. I found myself mentally correcting the text. The author appears to be extremely fond of the words (with a US z) realise/d/ing and perfect .Once you spot this it's hard to not notice.
However, a good solid 3.5/5 stars and a read I would recommend
