One of my Christmas reads of December 2021. Not my usual style of read but I really wanted something to get me in the Christmas mood so I moved a little out of my comfort zone for this one. I really enjoyed it. I found it was quite a basic storyline but it was a nice, light read and it was easy to pick up and carry on. I definitely won't be so picky when it comes to Christmas reads again. This book has shown me that even the lighter books can be enjoyable. 7/10

The Christmas escape is the story of Alex and of Christy. They both have their own storylines.
Christy is very into Christmas and planning a perfect holiday to Lapland with her family, but she's slowly realising that all is not well with her marriage.
Alex is very independent, doesn't really think she can do relationships. Christy and Alex are best friends, and in many ways, their friendship is the most important relationship in Alex's life.

The main romantic story arc is between Alex and Zac, who was the best man at Christy's wedding. Mostly the story is really about the friendship between between Alex and Christy. It's about how they have grown up together and then are now growing apart. And how the changes in one person's life (Christy's in this case) changes their relationship with everybody else.
The romance between Alex and Zac is adorable. Zach is kind, competent, and strong. He's also open to talking about feelings, which is a great counterbalance to Alex's guarded nature.
I really like Christmas books that Sarah Morgan has written because she does snow so well. The snow in the Arctic North is a little bit more brutal than the snow in the Snow Crystal Ranch, but it's still beautifully described. I could almost feel the frost biting my face when I was reading it. I really really enjoyed that. And now I want to go visit Lapland.
This is an extremely Christmasy book. And how can it not be they were in Lapland at Christmas time! And the story has all the warm and fuzziness that you'd want at Christmas. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
I got an ARC for review from Netgalley (Thank you, publishers). This is my honest review.

very sorry for the late review, i moved house then christmas arrived and ive not sat still.
I always look forward to sarahs newest book and this winter we was transpported to the Arcic in Sweden for this excapist story..... Everything one needs is in this book, pine frests, cold snow in the Arctic cirlce, lapland... However its not all positive vibes as a story shou,d be but theres a few mishaps, which reminded me a little of the book a wedding in December...
I always enjoy her books and i want to finish it to see what happenes with certain charcaters, this time it was with Alex. Then on the same token you dont want it to end, brillint book but felt somewhat repititive.

A perfect winter book. Was Christmas themed but not too festive that it took away from being read after Christmas. I loved this book, it was beautiful and I loved the story the girls took us along.
The cover of this book was beautiful too. The northern lights are in my heart. Perfect perfect book. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange fir an honest review.

Christmas is not Christmas without reading a book by @sarahmorganwrites 🎄

The Christmas Escape has an amazingly beautiful cover, I found myself while reading just turning the book to the cover just to admire it for a few moments.

In The Christmas Escape we follow two friends journeys as they overcome problems in their relationships that have been coursed by their own individual issues from their childhoods. Although the characters face some tough issues the way Sarah Morgon writes the story, it gave me a warm feeling that everything will be OK and its also filled with beautiful scenery, as the book is set in Lapland and a Christmassy London. This story is filled with Christmas joy , hope, love and friendship. I loved seeing how Christy and Alix developed over the story and Alix love story with her very handsome hero Zac.

This is another Christmas read to add to my ever growing Christmas book shelves. I loved reading this, while keeping warm under a blanket eating chocolates.

What could be more festive than a book set in the snow underneath the Northern lights with love interests, secrets, an inquisitive toddler and long lost family you absolutely cannot go wrong with this book perfect for getting you into the Christmassy mood

What a lovely read! I am a big fan of Sarah Morgan's books, they are always so well written, and so fun to read but also so different from one another. And this one was no exception! I loved it! This book is all about friendship and the complicated aspects of friendship, trust and honesty. There is also a nice touch of romance in this winter christmas chicklit! And lots of magical moments in the snow and around the christmas tree! I am 100% recommending this book all year round, and not just at Christmas time!

This is only my second Sarah Morgan Christmas book, but I really enjoy the format of the family dynamic, romance and a happy ending! ❤️This book is also set in Lapland which really adds to the festive feeling of it all - Lapland actually never appealed to me as I never liked the idea of a “cold” holiday; but this book has definitely made me reconsider that - it is so beautifully described that it is so easy to visualise and feels really realistic.

Alix is a career woman who is focussed on her job and has no room for love in her life. Her best friend, Christy, is a full-time mum with very high expectations to her family life and whose marriage to Seb is going through some difficult times. Robyn lives in Lapland. She is Christy’s aunt and hasn’t seen her for many years, due to falling out with Robyn’s sister (Christy’s mother).

When Christy asks for Alix’s help, Alix ends up in Lapland with Holly, Christy’s daughter, and Zac, Seb’s best friend. Robyn goes through the expected change of heart in relation to romance, but it is the strain around her friendship which makes the book stand out.

A good, light, Christmas read.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Having never read anything from Sarah previously I wasn't sure what to expect but this was the perfect Christmassy read - perfect for an afternoon on the sofa.

A story based in Lapland, which talks about family, friendships and the ability for second chances. I could just imagine reading this book under the northern lights and a big christmas treee. Very atmostphic and I really loved how she wrote about each character.

The perfect winter read for that Christmas feel, it’s the predictable will they won’t they but with two couples and then add into the mix a long
lost relative, long friendships, and an excited child and the northern lights .
Really enjoyable
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

I do love a Christmas read. I believe this is the first of Sarah Morgan’s books I’ve read but it’s the perfect winter romance. Verging on a one bed trope with a little angst, I can’t wait to read more!

I read these types of books at Christmas only for a bit if feelgood factor. I liked the Lapland setting but it could have featured a bit more for atmosphere. Simple and formulaic chic lit.

I always love Sarah Morgan's books and this was no exception. I really appreciate how family relationships and female friendships are such a big part of her stories and they're always so beautifully and compellingly created. And it goes without saying but the romance was delightful. And I desperately want to go and see the Northern Lights now!

Such a huge fan of Sarah Morgan and her Christmas novels never disappoint. I loved the history with Alix and Zac and how the secrets unfolded. And magical lapland!

The Christmas Escape, a fantastic book for the festive season. You’ll be drawn in with the characters and whisked away to a magical Christmas setting complete with the Northern Lights. Sarah Morgan doesn’t give you an average romance, but instead one that you can really get into and has such wonderful characters.

Gorgeous, so grab a mug of hot chocolate (with whipped cream and marshmallows – of course!) and snuggle up on the sofa and escape to a wonderfully festive place with Christy, Alix, Seb, Zac, Holly, Robyn and Erik who will make you feel so welcome in their cosy cabins in the woods.
