Absolutely gorgeous, such a lovely read, this is illustrated so beautifully and the story teaches about embracing differences. The story also is good for showing how children can help to influence and change their parents., It is important that we teach our children about diversity and inclusivity , but also that we are open to what they can teach us too. This is a brilliant book for young readers and it will make a great addition to any bookshelf.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

A beautifully illustrated story perfect for young children. Penguins are so loveable and Dilly is utterly adorable, it is a real story of embracing difference and it will be a wonderful book for having discussions about differences, acceptance and kindness. A great book for all early years bookshelves.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for introducing me to the very cute Dilly.

This is a cute little children's book about a penguin called Dilly, who is different from the other penguins as she only has one leg, so she moves in a different way from them. At first, they all react strangely towards her, but eventually, they accept her and show her that it is ok to be different. The illustrations in the book are very bright and colourful and my daughter loved them. She had a lot of fun counting all of the penguins.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is absolutely beautiful.
The storyline is great, the length of story is perfect for young children. The imagery and illustration bring the story to life.

My children both loved this book and we have been able to explore the themes further through discussion about how children/people are all different and how these differences are beautiful.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book to provide this review #netgalley #elizabethdale #delightfullydifferentdilly

The illustrations are the best part of this book in my opinion. They are engaging, detailed and fun. They perfectly accent the text.

This is a story about a penguin who is different. What makes Dilly different is that Dilly has just one foot. Dilly is cheerful and inventive. Dilly’s positive attitude and playfulness are enjoyed by the other young chicks who start trying to do some things differently as well. What will happen? Should things be done Dilly’s way or is conformity best? Adults who are reading this title to a child surely know the answer.

Many times stories use animals as stand-ins for humans when trying to relate a message to young children. I would love to read this book with children both able and with challenges to see what they think. I hope that they would enjoy this story and its message. I do wonder a bit if a child with challenges would feel that this story makes everything look just a bit too easy though. Always though, books can be used to open up discussion and that is a good thing.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

What a cute book! I love how all the young penguins accepted Dilly as she was, the grown ups however wasn't so nice until they realised she was able to help rescue their babies. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

'Delightfully Different Dilly' by Elizabeth Dale is one of my FAVOURITE children's books, this should definitely be on every child's bookshelf.

Whilst this is a fun read, the book has an important lesson and addresses disability awareness in a child-friendly way, teaching all that difference should be accepted and celebrated.

What a lovely book. The illustrated pictures are so attractive and colourful. The expressions on the different penguins faces are so relatable.

Dilly is different from all the other little penguins. She was born different, which makes it look like she’s leading the little penguin friends in a way that’s not “normal” and some of the mummy and daddy penguins are concerned.

Yes there’s a story there and a moral of life that most children can understand I think.
But a great way of opening a very important message to instil in our little ones.

It’s ok to be different.

Delightfully Different Dilly is a beautifully illustrated story that teaches about kindness.

Dilly is a cute and fluffy character who readers will instantly warm to, but her story is a big one. Instead of focusing on how Dilly is different from the others and how she can't do the things that they can, I love the shift in focus on how everybody else is the same and that Dilly can do things that the others can't.

The story also looks at how the younger generation can help to convince their parents that there's space for penguins Dilly which I think is another highly relevant message, as it is important that we teach our children about diversity and inclusivity so that they can pave the way for a better future.

This is a brilliant book for young readers that teaches an important lesson in an easy-to-understand way, and it would make a great addition to any bookshelf.

This was a cute book about celebrating diversity and how unique each individual is. I loved that the story was about penguins, but so very human at the same time. It’s great book to show kids kindness and to teach them that every person has different talents that can be useful to the community.
I enjoyed the story, the beautiful illustrations, and the fact that Dilly’s talents ultimately saved the other children!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC!
