Was delighted to find that this book was revisiting applewell but focusing on a different family this time, loved the first applewell and wasn't disappointed with this either.
Enjoyed the new family of Lottie, Henry and kids and how poor Henry felt shame when he was made redundant again in the space of six months and tried desperately to find a new job so he didn't have to tell Lottie, sadly Lottie notices Henry's odd behaviour and automatically thinks the worst that he's having an affair, feeling overwhelmed with running around after her children constantly she now has to try solve the puzzle as to why Henry keeps bringing her old furniture to upcycle, surely a guilty conscience?
Loved the book and the characters and the storyline was good, and absolutely loved going back to applewell, really hope there is another instalment

This book is very different to others I have read and I loved it for that. I felt i was reading something new. I adored Lottie and I really liked reading about her upcycling, something I've been wanting to try as well.. I also felt really sorry for Luke and all his struggles.

I liked how it was told from both Lottie and Luke's point of view and we really saw what each was thinking and going through but of course the lack of communication was why they were having so many difficulties. How true to life is this?

A great read that will really make you think.

An interesting read following Henry and Lottie and their three children. Henry and Lottie have difficulty communicating, which causes problems, he is hoping he doesn't have to tell her what is troubling him and her imagination makes up why he has changed recently. it is beautifully written and I loved the interaction with the children ie a picnic on the beach etc. Plus the way Lottie's talent in making fun things out of the furniture people throw away really makes you think.

Wow a clever well written book. Told from two points of view the husband and wife Henry and Lottie. I loved it. It made you think how we see things differently . Being a stay at home mum is hard work. I loved all the descriptions of how Lottie up-cycled things. The boat bed was ace. Henry was only protecting her. It was a lovely enjoyable story. Made you think about your own marriage in a good way. A hit

Thank you for this advance copy what can i say i loved it. I really enjoy Lilac Mills books so was eager to read this advance copy and I wasn’t disappointed . The book tells the story of a young family watching their-pennies and tells the story from both parents point of view. Great insight how two different people can see the same situation differently. Lovely family story, great ending. Highly recommend

Lilac Mills books always puts a smile on my face.

I really enjoyed my first trip to Applewell and was expecting to re visit George.

This time we have couple Lottie and Henry and children. Lottie loves to upcycle furniture and Henry has been made redundant again, can Henry find another job before Lottie finds out?

I really love this Applewell series a good mix of characters.

Lottie and Henry are a great couple who just have communication problems, Henry trying to do his best for Lottie when he brought her a door I was like what the hell had me laughing.

I hope we don't have to wait too long for another Applewell.

Fantastic, love the residents in Applewell. Great second instalment in which I hope will become a great series, or equally can’t be a stand alone novel. Some interaction from the previous characters. Lottie and Henry are just great along with their children and their miscommunication this is a great read. Lilac Mills has done it again .
Highly recommend read
