I liked the illustrations in this book, they are simple and uncomplicated which fits with Grumpius!
Grumpius is a stray cat who gets to have a second change when he is taken in by a kind hearted lady.
The lady has a passion for her garden and sadly the visitors that she has coming mean that without really realising she is not paying Grumpius as much attention as she should, he doesn’t like the strangers invading the garden and he disappears – and it takes a while for her to notice.
It has a positive ending but it one to make younger children thing too as pets are for all year and should be with you for life and in their forever homes. They need to have care and attention at all times.
It is 3.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads and Amazon
