You’re the Hugs to my kisses is an adorable book. At first when I was reading this, I thought it was odd that the author would say “to my” for everything when a lot of these sayings tend to be “on my” or “in my” such as “You’re the twinkle in my eye” whereas the author wrote “you’re the twinkle to my eye.” (Obviously I’m pretty peculiar about these things.) However as I continued reading, the book was so cute and very sweet I ended up overlooking it all. 5 stars. I would buy this book for my own one year old daughter.

A cute way to say "I love you." A great gift from a grandparent to a grandchild, or really any loved one as it reflects a variety of experiences.

Herndon shares many ways to talk about love and relationships. Readers see so many different types of friendship and love reflected in both the fun text and brightly colored illustrations. Each page spread offers a different way to say "I love/value you" with a saying about being connected - hugs to kisses; jelly to donut; bubbles to bathtub, etc. A sweet story to read as a family or with friends. A definite gift book for young families.

This book is so adorable. It has all these cute phrases to say how much love you have for someone. How your the hugs to my kisses. No matter near or far our love won’t change. The illustrations were amazing and I loved all the ways you can express how much someone means to you. A great bedtime family book.

You're the Hugs to My Kisses is one of the sweetest children's book I have ever read. It was so cute and really captured how an adult loves a child. This is perfect gift from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or siblings. The rhyming text was captivating, and the entire book flowed extremely well.

I read this to my 2.5 year old, and he asked me to read it three more times to him! He loved looking at the beautiful and fun illustrations while listening to me read this. We have You Complete Me; however, this book was so much better than that one! As a parent with a child with food allergies, I appreciated that the foods mentioned weren't so obvious that the child might be allergic to them: sundae and donut.

I will be adding this book to my son's wishlist because it is so cute and he already loves it! It's perfect for ages 0 to 5, or even older just to show that you love the child.

It was impossible not to smile while reading this! It's such a sweet book celebrating all the loving relationships in a kid's life--mom, dad, friends, grandparents, etc.

The rhymes are cute and flow well and the illustrations are gorgeous. They're so bright and lively and full of detail. I'm sure they'll captivate readers. This is a great book for both classroom and personal libraries and will definitely be a favorite! It would also make a great baby shower or new grandparent gift.

You're the Hugs to My Kisses by Barbara Herndon was such a joyful read! It is a celebration of family and friendship. The variety of joyful scenarios and the diversity of the relationships are a highlight of the book. There is a ton of opportunity for children to engage with this book. The different ways it shows how relationships are important, can help a child verbalize and describe the important relationships in their own lives. Many children will be able to see themselves in this book.

I wanted to like this story, but after the first few pages, I found the repetition to be too much and the story no longer kept my focus. This isn't one I would read to my children.

For parents, or other loving guardians, our children are our everything. Barbara Herndon’s You’re the Hugs to My Kisses has silly prose to help share just how much our young children mean to us. The book is simple but heartfelt. Families can see what other silly metaphors they can come up with to describe their relationships. Best for toddlers and preschoolers.

This is a delightful story with rhyming verse. The pages are in vibrant colours which will hold a child's attention.. The book has lovely rhymes regarding family relationships, love and friendships. This would appeal to my 3 year old Grandson and I look forward to reading this with him. I particularly like the way the relationship of a boy and his Grandad is portrayed. I would definitely recommend this book for young children.

This is the sweetest book! A cute and fun way to tell little ones how much they are loved. It’s very easy to read, a perfect little bedtime story. Vibrant illustrations and accessible prose makes this one of our (my toddler and I) favorite stories this year.

Everyone needs a hug. It helps us feel loved, wanted and accepted. This sweet book to read with your little one reminds them how loved they are and the different ways we can express love thru a hug. With puns it makes it more fun and memorable.
