I finished reading the arc of 'My sister,Daisy' in 15 minutes and let me tell you how beautiful this book is. It's from the point of view of a little boy whose sister, Daisy has come out as trans and is transitioning into a girl. Not only does this book present the innocence of children and how easy it's for them to understand and accept others but it also talks about sibling relationships and the little boy's jelousy over the attention his sister is getting. I loved it so much.
This is a perfect book for little kids struggling to accept their own gender identity and older/younger siblings struggling to cope with the change that comes with their sibling's transition. And the cherry on top for me was when I read the author's notes and realized what a wonderful parent the author is. I loved reading My Sister, Daisy and will recommend it to everyone I meet.

This was a beautiful book.

The topic of transgender is covered so well, there is compassion, care and delicacy in the handling of the subject.

The book is easy to understand and is explains it really well.

The images are lovely and it is a superb book all-round.

A great way to introduce this topic to younger ones too.

It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!

This is an endearing picture book about a boy and how he handles his sister coming out as a transgender girl. And it's exactly how you would want a young trans girl's transition to go: loving and accepting parents and a supportive community. The main character loves his sister, but deals with feelings like jealousy and confusion as well - something that should definitely be addressed in a book aimed to siblings of trans children.

For people who are looking for a book with this aim, this is perfect.

This book is a story about a boy who was so excited to have a baby brother, who then after some years changed to be his sister. This book explores his feelings and worries on his sibling changing genders and realizing that they were still the same person despite changing from being his brother to his sister. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

A beautiful book about a little boy who becomes a big brother to a new baby. He enjoys showing the baby his toys, making them giggle and teaching the new baby things, and thinking he had a brother to play with! But then one day she tells him she is a girl, her parents and everyone got it wrong! Gradually everyone learns to accept that a child is just a child regardless of gender and they are just the same as before.

A great book about dealing with transgender from an early age and accepting children for who they are and loving them regardless.

This is a really beautiful book telling the story of Daisy who born as a born identified as a girl. The story is told through the thoughts of her older brother. The language is pitch perfect for reading with children under 7:( Ks 1) and deals with the challenges of transgender with sensitivity and celebration. The illustrations support the story and bring a happiness to the book. At the end of the book , the author Adria Karlsson describes her own personal experiences and those of her two children in particular how her son dealt with the transition of his sister. This is a wonderful book for parents, carers and teachers or for children to enjoy themselves. Young children rarely label or judge other children so maybe this book is as much for adults to recognise how we are all individual and need to be allowed to be our true selves for a young age.
