Thank you netgalley for this arc.

This is a rather good resource for newcomers who are setting up their own apartment or house. While I found it to be cute, I didn't discover many new ideas within its pages. However, for beginners, the book offers valuable insights into creating a healthier living environment. The approach makes it easy to understand and apply the principles of healthy design.

An aesthetic, plant-friendly guide to interior design, Makes me envious of all the houseplants in the pages of this book and I'm almost tempted to run to the nearest plant store to pick a few up!

We're spending a lot of time in our homes these days and we all want them to feel healthier and to be more environmentally friendly. This book will give you ideas for a more beautiful and environmentally friendly home, helping to purify the air and eliminate (some) toxins.

I have been on a home improvement kick lately. Not that I am implementing everything I see immediately, but I am enjoying picking up different ideas which I may someday use in some small way or the other. This particular book was a lot more helpful than I expected. It is more along the lines of what I expect when I pick something like this up (That may not always be a good thing, but here it worked out well).

The book is divided into several sections. Each section deals with some aspect of your home. There are helpful suggestions and walkthroughs regarding what options one may have in furnishing or designing a house to bring out the best. The health aspect comes from access to light and fresh air. The colours are addressed in terms of the room’s usability. There may not be many things in this that would be new to most people, but I think placed together in this way, it might remind people of things they used to be more aware of before. I took that from my reading experience. It is not a very slim volume but filled with pictures/art, further elaborating the author’s ideas.

I would recommend this to anyone planning a few changes around their homes and need suggestions, especially those that would work with rentals as well.

I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience and recent interest in the topic itself.

This is a very comprehensive guide to making your home a healthier and more enjoyable place to live. This covers pretty much everything - colour, texture, sound, water, air, planting amongst the topics covered. Most are described in detail and great specific suggestions given,. One area that I was disappointed in was the section on toxic cleaning products. A few specific recipes for homemade substitutes would have been useful, and save costly mistakes. Good evidence is given for the reasons why we should be looking in more detail at the items we have in our homes and their design. Who knew that exposure to wood can reduce stress levels by 23%? Lots of great ideas in here and would make a great gift for someone who has just moved house.

Thank you to Oliver Heath, NetGalley and DK for an ARC.

This home lifestyle book is divided into sections including; Light, Sounds, Warmth, Air quality, Plants and more, the author illustrates how and why to try some of these ideas.

The illustrations are sketch like and really appealing. They are useful and give some great ideas. This book would be a great addition to any coffee table. This is a book you could dip into again and again, as and when you wanted to redecorate or just get some new ideas to switch up a room.

A great present for anyone who has recently bought a house, someone who is into interior design, someone who is decorating or switching up their house.

One thing I will say is I feel like there should have been more idea for people in rented houses who can't do some of the big things or decorate. Or even for people who don't want to do a full redecorate. Alternatives are always good and sometimes cheaper

Brilliant book really enjoyed this and found some interesting bits to it. We are moving soon, but I can’t wait to use some of the things I’ve learnt in this book when we find a place to settle.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

This book is beautiful, interesting and utterly life transforming!

On the basis of ‘Design a Healthy Home’ I have been inspired to make changes to the decor of my house that are improving my well being as well as increasing the functionality of the home.

This book is bang on trend, as mental well-being is such a hot topic.

The illustrations are both useful and make this book a worthy addition to any coffee table. This is a book I would dip into again and again, and as such I feel it is a good investment.

I found the section on lighting particular enlightening and useful.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book and find it highly worthy of 5 stars.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.

Having moved house mid 2020, smack bang in the middle of the pandemic, I was attracted to this book because I really want to make our new house a home for me and my family. Home has become something even more important in the last 18 months, as we've all spent so much more time at there so people are looking for ways to improve and develop their homes into something more comforting.

The design ethos of the book is based on "biophilia" which is concerned with our attraction to nature and living things. It is then split into sections covering colour, pattern and texture; activities; connectedness; light; sleep; sound; water; warmth; air; and planting. Each section is full of helpful hints and tips to help improve your home, including the best ways to decorate, arrange furniture and how to create functional spaces for different parts of your house and areas of your life. Its a great reference for anyone looking to make a new home, or overhaul an existing one and certainly one I'm going to be referring to as I continue to work on my own home.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the early access to this book.

I recently moved into my first, privately owned home. I love plants, I love having a healthy lifestyle, and I loved this book!

I especially enjoyed the part on on sleep - you wouldn't think that's something you have to learn as a child, but clearly, it is - as he's terrible at it. This book helped him somewhat.

It's a lovely book for people who are just trying to have a nice, healthy home. Can't wait to buy a physical copy.

A lovely and clearly written book about designing your home (and in many ways your life) in a natural way. It takes into consideration overwhelmingly many things from light to sound, colours to plants. The book made me feel like I really need to build myself a home of my own. I want it to be natural, just the way rooms are presented in this book. I like natural light, tree, clutter-free places that are in harmony with life. There are many things in the book that I already knew, but also many refreshing ideas and things I realize I want in my life. A simply, easy to follow, inspirational book that I think many will find useful.

This book was interesting to read and certainly offered me many insights, but certain things should be thought of from the beginning, because once the house is furnished, as well as built and/or renovated, certain changes are difficult to make.

I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
