This is a Cute Children's Graphic Novel, and this is third book in the Stick and Stone series. I found this book to be cute, and I love the Stick and Stone characters. The first part has a lot about the ABCs and nature. I love that this graphic novel teaches young kids they can find their ABCs in nature. The second part was not my favorite, but it is all about wishing and friendship. I found both parts to be cute and fill of great messages. I love the pictures in this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Etch/Clarion Books) or author (Beth Ferry) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Funny story! Well written with great characters. I like the simple but effective graphic format. My younger readers are going to love this book!!

It feels a little uncharitable to give this a mediocre review, but I think this graphic novel, meant for beginning readers, needed a bit more work. The stories feel disjointed and the jokes aren't particularly funny, and I think this would have benefited from a bit more editing. Kids who are already fond of the characters will likely enjoy it, but with so many stellar beginning reader graphic novels out there, I can't give this one an enthusiastic recommendation.

Many thanks for the opportunity to read and review!

This graphic novel is perfect for beginning readers! Colorful, engaging illustrations and easy to read text make this book a great choice a young elementary child. I loved that the two stories revolved around adventure and friendship, which I know my 8 year old son will enjoy. Each story even suggests a fun activity to expand on what was read. Grab this for your young reader when it releases on June 7, 2022.

Thank you to #netgalley for providing this ARC.

Beginning graphic novels are one of my favorite sub-genres, and while I adore the original Stick and Stone, I felt the story needed more work before moving into this new field. The second story was especially jumpy and unfocused. I felt that stick and stone had developed some new rather simplistic character traits, and I was left wishing for more depth. If you have a kid who loved these characters then they will enjoy it but it would not be my first recommendation for a beginning graphic novel.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. Our library has a huge following for GN so this will be a hit.
Two stories in one graphic novel perfect for beginning readers, based on the bestselling STICK AND STONE series by Beth Ferry and Tom Lichtenheld. Go on a scavenger hunt, set out on a trip for ice cream, and even visit the beach with these lovable best buddies.

Join Stick and Stone as they get swept up in a scavenger hunt. Accompany them to a campfire calamity. And laugh along with them in this new graphic novel series starring two best buddies and a whole cast of new characters. Each story has a fun activity to make you feel part of the action. I will be purchasing this for our library.

I received an electronic ARC from Clarion Books through NetGalley.
Stick and Stone have two new adventures in this first graphic novel about the best friends. They end up as part of a nature collection for a scout badge in the first story, and then part of a campfire when they yearn for adventure in the second. The artwork is fun to study. The characters spring to life as readers follow their adventures.
A fun read for mid-elementary level.

This was such a fun read with my son! He loved the adventures and the fun ABCs along the way. I liked that there was recipes at the ending so it could be more interactive than just reading. This is a fun book to read with your kiddo and enjoy smores afterwards!

A really cute graphic novel which contains 2 stories in one about best friends Stick and Stone and their adventures in the forest and what they encounter there. Both stories have a fun activity to do that correlates with what stick and stone are doing. Perfect for beginning readers and just a really fun read.

Thanks to Clarion Books and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book in e-book form. All opinions in this review are my own.

Stick and Stone is a great children's picture book! The first half is about a nature scavenger hunt where girl guides take objects that start with each letter of the alphabet. Stick and stone are both insulted by being called twig and rock, and terrified when they are tossed in a bucket. The story goes on to teach readers that they should leave nature where they found it and take only pictures. In the second part of the story they both narrowly escape being skipped on the lake and burned in a campfire, but luckily they are saved by the rain! With simple, unique characters, and an undercurrent of respecting nature, this is a great graphic novel for young readers. As a grade 3 teacher, I would recommend this book for teachers and families of children in the 5-11 age range. I could definitely see my students reading this book again and again. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this great book!

Stick and Stone, quirky best friends and adventurous antics.

An enjoyable read-aloud for my little one (5) who was clamoring for more! The cute and simple illustrations, the quick and silly banter between Stick and Stone are sometimes so nonsensical but underneath it all is a message of friendship, fun facts, and the spirit of adventure!

Stick: If you could be anything, what would you wish to be?
Stone: Stick, as long as you’re you, I’d wish to be me!

Awww.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

What an adorable story! I love reading about Stick and Stone's friendship, and how their personalities complement each other as they went on adventures together. It's also a great book for young students- I can see having a discussion after reading about going on adventures, wishes, and also being a good friend.

A very cute sequel to a very cute book. The comic/graphic novel style is something younger readers will love since it’s very popular with older kids right now. The characters, especially Stick, are fun to read and full of personality. I will definitely be purchasing this for the library.
