First - we love stick and stone in our home. It was a book given to my son when my daughter was born and it's one that we still read and reread years later. Now it's like their friendship is grown up with more humor, a strong bond, and new adventures (and friends).
My 7 year old has already read this one to my 5 year old twice. It's that good!

The friends, Stick and Stone, are caught up in two stories in one graphic novel. In the first one they meet Nature girl. She is excited and decked out in her hiking gear on the look for nature items beginning the letter A all the way to Z. Readers get involved with Stick and Stone as they are swept up in scavenger hunt. At the end Nature Girl’s checklist is written out for you to take her list and go on your very own nature hike.

In the second story, readers accompany the friends to a campfire site. The humorous and heart warming stories will have you laughing along with them. In this graphic novel series you get to know the stars and a whole cast of new characters.
Each story culminates in a fun activity to make you feel part of the action.
The campfire adventure involves. Recipe. Can you guess to what can be made around a campfire?

A delightful graphic novel for young readers! The book includes two stories AND activities to go along with them. In the first story, Stick and Stone become part of a young girl's scavenger hunt. Readers are then encouraged to go on their own nature scavenger hunt! In the second story, Stick and Stone become part of a campfire and readers are left with directions on how to make s'mores. Not only will kids LOVE these adventures, but having the added bonus of related activities makes the book extra spectacular. I highly recommend this book!

Really love the best friend duo, Stick and Stone. This is a great first graphic novel series for young readers. Enjoyed the new characters. Each story has a fun activity for students that makes the book interactive and fun.

Stick and Stone go on another adventure in the latest tales from Beth Ferry. This book contains two adventures. In the first adventure, a girl is going on an alphabet nature hunt in the forest and Stick and Stone are picked up. In the second adventure, Stick and Stone take an adventure on the beach. The book is a great introduction to graphic novels with easy to follow cells. It also includes many good vocabulary words for teaching students. Recommended for grades 2 through 4

A lovely story of two friends, of quite different personalities, full of humour and adventure. Fabulous use of images to aid story telling. A successful narrative that comes to life and you can relate to the characters.

Another great book about Stick and Stone. This time they go on a camping adventure and meet some new friends! My son and I adore the stick and stone books and this one did not disappoint! I look forward to buying it for him when it comes out! We love the activities the books have to engage readers!

I really enjoyed this book. It is such a fun kids book about two best friends Stick and Stone who go on two crazy adventures. In the first adventure they encounter a young Nature Girl on a quest to find an item in the wilderness that starts with each letter in the alphabet. At first Stick and Stone are worried because she can only get one item with each letter and how will she pick between the two of them? Will the friends be able to stick together? On the next adventure Stone wishes for an adventure, though he secretly wants ice cream. When his wish comes true Stick and Stone are taken far from home and put in a dangerous situation will either of them come out okay and make it back home?

Overall just such a sweet story, one that can touch children on multiple different levels. The fact that both stick and stone identify as one word, but the little girl identifies them as another might be a good lesson on labels in general. I also loved how Stone was so into every adventure but Stick was the realist. Overall both characters made these stories super lovable and easy to read. I can't wait for more adventures!

This book was so sweet and fun and had us laughing the whole way through! My favorite part is the a-z checklist at the end and when the nature girls say their motto, "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Keep nothing but memories." What a lovely message for children and a thoroughly enjoyable book!

Stick and Stone are back with more adventures! And this time they are in a graphic novel format perfect for kids just beginning to read and love comics.
Stick is happy counting his pea pods and tomatoes but Stone wants an adventure! Fortunately, there is a Nature Girl in the area collecting one item for every letter of the alphabet. And Stick and Stone seem to be on her list - though not necessarily in the way that they thought. And so their adventure begins! In the second story, Stone decides he would like ice cream - or maybe snow - or maybe ice cream made from snow? Instead he and his friend, Stick, are carried away to the beach.
Both stories stress that even though Stick and Stone are very different, they are still best friends that are always ready to help each other through tough times and enjoy the fun times together. Also, Stick and Stone manage to get themselves into some sticky (pun intended) situations. These could be great discussion points with kids on how they think Stick and Stone will resolve their dilemmas. II really enjoyed the illustrations - especially the different expressions on Stone's face!

Loved the original Stick and Stone story and this just continues the great lessons, wonderful characters and humor that catches even the littlest heart.

At first I was unsure about the feel of this Stick and Stone book. The Nature Girl alphabet adventure felt forced but I did enjoy the Sticky Situation. I would prefer these be separate books.

I enjoyed this children's book. It is fun to read aloud. The illustrations are bright, interesting and full of expression.

Stick and Stone are fabulous friends. They are both very unique and their differences are celebrated and appreciated even when they are being irritating to the other.

I read this title aloud to adults and children and everyone enjoyed the adventure. I look forward to reading more adventures of Stick and Stone when Book #2 is available!

Stick and Stone Explore is an early graphic novel that I could see appealing to students in grade 1 or 2 or maybe older students with challenges. There are two stories in this book and I loved the illustrations and the humor. I actually laughed out loud while I was reading it, and I think kids would get a kick out of it as well.

It could be enjoyed by budding readers or by non-readers, as the illustrations are great and tell the story in themselves. I would definitely recommend this book to my students and parents.

Funny and educative, this little book is a lot of fun and the characters are so cute! I really recommend reading it!

I didn't read all of the book but I was able to read the first half. Let me tell you, it was a hoot and a holler! Stick and stone really have a playful banter going throughout the whole story, which makes for an interesting and exciting read.

When Stick and Stone came out in 2019, I absolutely fell in love with the book. I immediately changed my story time plans so I could include it in my program. When I saw that Beth Ferry and Tom Lichtenheld once again collaborated to create a graphic novel for beginning readers, I was thrilled.
Stick and Stone Explore and More is a charming story about true friends and their adventures together. Young readers, especially those who are already familiar with Stick and Stone, will love reading this book. The illustrations are wonderful and the storyline is full of sweet, gentle adventures.

I thought this was a very interesting book. I felt a little lost though, was I supposed to start at the end and go backwards? Either way, I felt like it left a lot to be explained, and I felt like it jumped around so many times. I feel like nothing really related to each other. I am sure kids would enjoy this book, but as an adult, I did not. Unfortunately. Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh man, there are so many wonderful things to say about this! My son and I are huge fans of the first Stick and Stone book, so I was thrilled to get a peek at this- and I can't wait for it to come out!
