The story is told over dual timelines. This book is well researched. This is beautifully written and has lots of detail. The characters are realistic and likeable.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
The blurb suggested that this dual timeline novel is the sort of book I enjoy and the author has already published other successful books. The book begins in world war 2 when Eliane is working in the world of art. This is emphasised by the use of several artistic / painting terms within descriptions which I did not understand, such as 'impasto', and looking up the meaning ruined the flow of my reading.
I did not expect to find some mistakes in the ARC from an accomplished author (although these may be rectified in the final issue), such as 'she awoke after midnight. ... "I only found out today" (which was actually yesterday)'. When the story changed to 2015 I did not think it credible that Remy allowed Molly to continue mishandling items in her shop - why not just move Matt and Molly to the door? The sentence 'Ebony wasn't there so Remy couldn't see her' seemed odd; we already knew this so I didn't understand why it was written in such a way, and this style of writing continued into the novel. By the time I was 30% through I thought the standard of writing was amateurish, and progression of the story was too slow for me.
I did not finish the book.

A wonderful story which some of it is based on true facts of the paintings that the Germans tried to get their hands on.

Eliane lives with her parents , her brother and sisters. This is just before the outbreak of War. Xavier her brother’s friend arrives back from England he is half French & English they form a friendship.

The book was really interesting and all the twists that happened it was also sad as well.

Well written.

A gorgeous dual timeline tale set in the lush surrounding of the French Riviera during WWII and present time. The story focuses on strong female protagonists in the art world, which is a great way to display the plot. Highly recommended!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This book was a really good read, well researched and written. It’s flowing between World War II and the present, with a bit of history, romance and mystery. Making it impossible to stop reading and put down.
You read about the history of the theft of art by the Nazis in Paris during this period, how the brave resistance workers, in saving great pieces as the Mona Lisa, risked everything they held dear.
Elaine, is working at the Louvre and is assisting in indexing the art that is taken from Jewish owners, people like the Rothschilds. Her love for Xavier makes you hope that they survive this dark period and will lead a happier life.
The story really grips you from the start and then it moves to the present timeline, making you want to know what happened next in the past.
But then, you are wanting to know what’s happened to Remy, whose a widow, losing a daughter 18months earlier.
As you read the story going back to that period, and again to the present, you get to realise how these two stories are joined together.
The ending is a bit touching and sad.

Highly Recommend It

What a beautiful, emotional story of loss and grief and love. I enjoyed the back and forth between the war time story and the present day. Would recommend.

I always enjoy Natasha’s books and this was brilliant. Very unputdownable and exciting. She always writes a good story and I always look forward to reading her books. Highly recommend. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I adored this book, couldn’t put it down. My favourite parts were the parts set back in WW2 occupied Paris and I wouldn’t wait to get back into their story and find out what happened. The twist with the connection between past and present was beautiful, but the end of the past story was very sad. A wonderful beach read if you like to be a little more stimulated than an average romance.

A really well written duel narrative book. That is sweeping in history, well written and gripping. I enjoyed it.

Oh goodness I loved this book! It was so beautifully told, fascinating and moving, I was completely caught up in the story. My only criticism is that the ending seemed rushed, but maybe because I didn't want it to end..

Set between war-torn Paris and the present day, The Riviera House is a breathtakingly beautiful story of love and sacrifice. Read it in a day with barely any breaks, but the breaks that I took just meant that I was thinking about it and wanted to get back to it!
