Thoroughly enjoyable read encompassing the beauty of the Alps with the tension of competition and the love/hare relationship between the central characters. Believing the worst of Kit Foley, journo Clicker sets out to uncover his secrets and discredit him completely following his injury of a rival competitor.

Stunning read. Emotional and just so darn unputdownable! I just needed to know all of the story! Glamorous locations and so much intrigue. Unpredictable and a ride from start to finish. I was in tears within chapters! Highly recommended.

Thank you Netgalley

I really enjoyed this Karen Swan's latest Christmassy offering. The opening offered an intriguing conundrum about how she was ever going to rehabilitate her hero that made reading further an absolute must. Well crafted and compelling throughout.

📖BOOK REVIEW📖
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#MidnightInTheSnow by #KarenSwan

⏩for synopsis

There was nothing not to like about this book; the characters we amazing, relatable and sexy (Kit 😉), the story addictive and entertaining, with a plot that kept you in desperate anticipation throughout. I suppose overall you knew how it would end, but getting there was far from predictable and there were many little twists and secrets to be discovered and keep you entertained.

I found it an easy read and definitely looked forward to returning to it at every opportunity I got! It was a complete, uncomplicated and an enjoyable read - I think my favourite by this author so far!

Gosh this was a brilliantly intense and absorbing read. I absolutely lost my heart over Kit Foley! Award winning documentary producer Clover Philips has turned her lens onto .Kit…just months after another documentary she made about his now late friend ? The Teo were buddies and surfing rivals … until the world sees Kit perform a surf move that causes his friends professional downfall. Kit hates Clover and the feeling is mutual. So why then are her team, Matty Ann Jonny staying in the Austrian Alps in a swanky chalet with Kit, his brother and manager? Kit is attempting to become a snowboard champion and can’t shake the team off. Clover wants the world to know what this man is really like … but does anyone really know Kit Foley? Simply superb … Karen Swan is on top form.

This book is a lovely winter read to curl up in bed with while the weather outside is dark and cold. I loved the main characters’ determination to uncover her story and the ending was written perfectly.

Clover Philips is the latest up and coming documentary maker, proving brilliant at bringing stories of the underdog to life. But the focus of her next documentary is going to be a hard nut to crack - disgraced surfer turned snowboarder Kit Foley. Ousted from the surfing world due to a terrible accident with devastating injuries for the other person, Kit's remained tight lipped about what happened that day. Can Clover convince him to open up and share his secrets? Or is he determined to remain the villain in everyone's stories.

This is a wondeful wintery take set on the slopes of Austria, and within the fast-paced, thrill-seeking world of snowboarding. This was just the most perfect book to read over the Christmas period, and I found myself utterly immersed in Clover and Kit's story as well as in this incredible well researched and detailed world of competitive snowboarding.

There is an enemies to lovers vibe in this story as Clover and Kit really do not like each other from the get go, and are determined to hate each other. But it just ends up with there being a really delicious chemistry between the two characters, and I swear it felt like their energy crackled from the page anytime they were in a room together.

I really liked all the backstory in this - particularly with Clover's past work with Corey, the other surfer from Kit's accident, as well the slow reveals about both Kit's past and childhood, as well as Clover's.

I think Karen Swan is just able to tell a really great story with some dramatic flair, interesting topics and locations, and romance to keep you hanging on but never too sweet to cause a tooth ache. Just brilliant, I loved this.

I like this author a lot and this was a really good enemies to lovers story, there were aspects which could have been done better but overall it was a good read with a really good plot and some side characters who really shone through. Definitely a good wintery read.

Award-winning director Clover Phillips is riding high when she encounters Kit Foley; a surfer and snowboarder as well-known for controversy as he is for winning championships.

Involved in an accident that had devastating consequences for a bitter rival, Kit has never spoken about what really happened that day. Determined to find out the truth, Clover heads to the snowy wilderness of the Austrian Alps, sharing a romantic winter wonderland with a man who can’t stand her.

But as she delves deeper, Clover finds herself both drawn to Kit, and even more convinced he’s hiding something. Is Kit Foley really as cold as he seems?

What a page turner, yes another one of those books that kept me reading late into the night, as this was a 'just one more page' I really need to find out what's going to happen next kind of book that doesn't fail to draw you in..

I highly recommend this to anyone as there are so many layers to this book, just make sure to clear your diary for a few days once you start to read this book.

Midnight in the Snow was a smart and sophisticated story that kept me gripped from the start.

Clover has just won a BAFTA for her documentary, Pipe Dreams, and she's riding high on her success. But keen to begin a new project, she makes the controversial decision to make Kit Foley the subject of her next film. Pipe Dreams was about pro surfer Cory Allbright - and Kit Foley became persona non grata after causing an incident that left Cory with life changing injuries. Clover wants to expose Kit as the cold blooded narcissist she believes him to be, and as he moves into snowboarding, his sponsorship team agree to her and her small team moving in with Kit for 6 weeks.

But there's a hitch. Kit knows Clover hates him, and frankly, the feeling is mutual.

Now, we can all probably guess where this is headed. And yes, there are no real surprises here. But it is still a very well written story that packs a punch and one that kept me turning the pages to find out if my predictions were to come true.

Oh, and the Epilogue is just fab and left me with a big smile on my face.

I enjoyed this book though wouldn't necessarily class it as a 'christmas' read, it's more of a skiing one! The characters are well defined, though not all likeable! I don't mind a predictable story though did feel there was a lot of preamble to eventually get to the predictable ending and it probably could have been considerably shorter. Thanks to the author, Netgalley and publisher for my arc.

This book had me reading till late into the night, and is one of those rare gems that actually live up to their online hype. Karen Swan had me gripped from the very beginning and turning pages like my hand was on auto pilot!

There is so much packed into this book that’s it’s hard to move on to my next read without taking time to catch my breathe and recover from a whirlwind and emotional journey.

I completely recommend this to everyone this winter! I can not fault this and if you are new to Karen Swan, what a hell of a book to start with!

Karen Swan is an auto-buy author for me and this book did not disappoint!
Set in Austria, between the surfing and snowboarding worlds, it has the perfect mix of romance and grit.
If you want to really immerse yourself in a book that is set somewhere pretty nice with some depth as well as light hearted romance, pick this up. I will read every Karen Swan book she brings out.

I’m not someone who reads a lot of festive books but every year the one book I do read is by Karen Swan. Her books are brillantly plotted and with great characters, and this years book did not disappoint. Midnight in the Snow is set in the Austrian Alps and centres aroung the snow boarding world. Clover Philips has won awards for her documentary ‘Pipe Dreams’ about the accident that ended the career of surfer Cory Allbright. The surfer blamed for the accident is Kit Foley, who is trying to reinvent himself and his career, this time as a snow boarder, and is Clover’s next project. Clover needs to try to hide her loathing towards Kit to try and get to the truth of what happened with Cory. Her only obstical is that Kit hates her more than she hates him. As the snow boarding competition heats up, can Clover really find out the truth, and thaw Kit’s icy heart.

I love Karen Swan’s Christmas books with their glamourous locations and complicated characters who you ultimately warm to as the book progresses. Like in her previous books the lead female character is strong, independent and with an interesting back story. Clover is an awarding winning documentary maker, focusing on those who have been wronged to give them a voice. She is incredibly driven, her work meaning evrything to her at the expense of her social life, but life in the Alps offers her, and her team, a good dose of Apres Ski. What I liked about Clover was that her integrity was important to her, and she tried to be keep her feelings in check, but we are all fallible and have an achillies heel and for Clover it is Kit Foley. Clover sees Kit as her complete opposite, a man responsible for the death of her friend Corey Allbright. His cool demeanour seems to fit his new challenge of becoming the World Series Snow Board Champion, he gives nothing away and won’t talk about the accident. Like Clover he is driven in his quest for success, wanting to win and be the best. Kit is complex and I was never sure if I liked or loathed him, but like Clover it was fascinating to watch his character development and learn why he is the way he is.

What I love about Karen Swan’s Christmas books is that they aren’t fluffy romances, but have an uderlying moral to them. In Midnight in the Snow the message is very much about not judging a book by it’s cover, or judge someone before you walk in their shoes. This does not just apply to Clover’s judgement of Kit, but also her own back story. Her colleagues, and friends, Johnny and Marty, presume she comes from money as she has a much sought after flat and lives a good life, but there is a lot more to that story which you can learn in the book. Karen Swan is masterful story teller, taking the reader on a journey with her relatable characters, exciting plot lines and descriptive prose. I found there were some real adrenaline pumping moments in this book, between the characters and the descriptions of the snow boarding and the risks that the boarders take; I had my heart in my mouth at several times.

I loved reading Midnight in the Snow, it had everything I expected from Karen Swan and more. Yes, of course there is the romance but there is also intrigue, excitement and shocking moments. This really took me on a rollercoaster of emotions as the story played out, and I felt I lived the book with the characters. Love, loss and redemption in the snowy Alps, make for the perfect festive read and reminded me why I always read Karen Swan’s Christmas books.
