Great book. Loved the characters even the bad boys. Karen writes in a way that is easy to read before bed or on the beach. Following a film maker and her crew as they seek to discredit a sportsman Kit a former surf champion turned snowboarder. As the storyline takes it twists and turns Karen uses her brilliant authorship to take us her readers on a journey.

Enjoyed the book although it seemed to take a while to get anywhere but the tension slowly builds. Persecution following the death of a surfer escalates when the person responsible then changes sport to snowboarding. A camera crew decide to follow his every move to make a film documentary. Can Kit really be as bad as he is made out to be? If you are a skier or snowboarder you will love the descriptions, if not they still sound exciting and dangerous. Will a hate relationship turn to love as Kit's real story evolves.

This isn’t the first Karen swan book I have read,I enjoyed the book,just wasn’t for me this time.someone else may love it

Well written and descriptive. The details about surfing and snow boarding were I’m sure excellent, although never having done either I wouldn’t really know!
I’ve read a few Karen Swan books which I very much enjoyed. However this didn’t grab me in the same way and I knew quite early on where it was heading. That said it’s worth a read.

There's a fine line between love and hate
Clover is a film maker who hates Kit as she believes he was responsible for Corey's accident and ultimately his death after making a documentary about him
Kit has never said what happened or defended himself after Clover blackened his name further but he has now switched sports from surfing to snowboarding and is trying to start a fresh
Kit's sponsor contacts Clover to ask her to do a documentary about Kit's re launch, she agrees so she can try and dig deeper to find out what happened.
They spend weeks together in Austria with their teams where Clover finds things aren't always as they seem
Loved it, couldn't put it down

An intense and compelling read with twists aplenty as we spend time with both Clover and Kit under the guise of the documentary to understand Kit’s drive. I loved the idea of Clover’s programmes - seeking justice for the wronged. Her team of Johnny and Mats were great supporting characters and added that touch of family she needed around her. The setting on the snowy peaks of Austria sounded beautiful and the excitement of the snowboarding definitely leapt from the pages. Another brilliant read from one of my go to authors.

I've read a couple of Karen Swan books, and have thoroughly enjoyed them, so when I saw this, I was compelled to read, purely on previous experience.
Midnight In The Snow is filled with the adrenalin highs and lows that come with the sports it features, heavily, Surfing and snowboarding.
I'm not a sports junkie, but the story that carries the book was compelling.
Clover Phillips makes films.
She's just finished one where accolades have been showered upon her, covering the story of a talented surfer, Cory, whose career was ruined by the actions of a competitor in one of the championships.
Having got herself extremely close to the family, she feels a need to try and find out why things happened as they did, ultimately leading to the loss of life.
Managing to get an all-access pass to the life of surfing champion, Kit Foley, the surfer responsible, she heads off to Austria, where he has now come, having changed his life path from surfing to snowboarding, hoping to find out why he did what he did to Cory.
It was a fantastic build-up of tension between Kit and Clover, seeing as he holds her responsible for ruining his professional life, whereas she lays the blame for the ultimate loss of Cory's life at Kit's feet.
Things are never that simple, though, and the way we learn snippets of the truth, throughout the book, alongside the chemistry that steps up a notch, between the interviewer and the interviewee, was fantastic,
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it!

Midnight in the Snow fully deserves a 5* rating.

Surfing and snowboarding, two sports that I wouldn't normally choose to read about. The author's descriptions of both captured my attention, as did Clover's determination of continuing to make her documentary film when the subject, Kit, was completely uncooperative. Clover's investigation of Kit uncovers information that result in dramatic consequences.

I won't say any more about the plot as you've probably read other reviews, but I strongly recommend that you read this book. It was so good that I couldn't put down and just hated reaching the excellent end. It's great.

When Clover Phillips makes a documentary about her friend's accident in a surfing championship it makes a villain out of the man who caused the accident Kit Foley. Not satisfied with blackening his name bt when she finds out he has changed sports to try and make a new start Clover decides to make a new film showing exactly what kind of person he is. Taking her on a very dangerous path.
I enjoyed this book by Karen Swann and the more I read the less I wanted to put the book down. A great read.

Midnight in the snow, is a book that grabs your attention from the beginning.

Clover is a documentary film producer and covered a story of a young surfer who was seriously injured, the 'culprit' Kit Foley becomes the target for her next production. After a lot of accusations that he was the cause of Cory's accident, Kit changed sports to snowboarding .

Clover tries to find the angle of why he did what he did to Cory, Kit is a sullen individual ...just like a teenager but he is 30!

Mainly set in Austria, this novel transforms you to the world of snowboarding competition (I have to admit the terms for jumps etc was beyond my comprehension ,!

Really enjoyable to read.

Really enjoyed this book which offered a greater story then a love story!

Hard to put down once you start!

It begins with a conversation, which seemed to ramble. Continues to the BAFTA awards, where Clover wins her category, it rambles on an was very tedious. Once again an author using the 'F' word. I make no apology for highlighting this and for the * rating. Other authors manage to use other words. I have only read the first 6 chapters - equates to 10% With the continuous use of the 'F' word I have given up as I have plenty of nice books to read, without it.

If this had been a TV programme a warning would have been given for strong language. If it does not bother you, you might enjoy it.

What a great read!

I’ve read this book in three sittings. Fantastic characters in this book, I was transported to the snow covered slopes, a real journey seeing the characters grow page by page.

I would recommend this book to all my friends.

Having read and enjoyed several books by this author, I knew I was in for a good read and wasn’t disappointed.
The story takes place in the spectacular snow-covered Austrian Alps, beautifully described by Karen Swan’s expertise bringing the picturesque scenery and snowboarding action to life.
Clover has filmed an award-winning documentary regarding a tragic surfing accident seemingly caused by Kit Foley. Having spent time with Corey, the injured man, and his family, she is sympathetic to the tragic circumstances in which they now find themselves.
Several months later, she is persuaded to film a similar documentary with Kit Foley, giving his perspective on what happened on the fateful day. However, Kit Foley hates and despises Clover and is antagonistic towards her and her team from the start. Although both are determined to deny it, attraction soon builds between them generating sizzling, sensual tension.
The characters are sensitively described, each with their hidden secrets which unfold as the story progresses. I like the easygoing friendships and camaraderie between Clover’s crew and team mates, people she has known for a long while. Also, the snowboarding intricate skills and techniques are excitingly described along with the pressures of competing at such a high level.
All characters have hidden depths and secrets, and I found this to be a real page turner with enough twists and turns and action to keep you engrossed in the story.

This book had such great content as a story. It was so well structured and layered. Everything flowed so well that it felt like a surfer's life story, more than a love story. That was an added extra that really worked well for the story. It was fantastic!.

Karen Swan is one of my favourite writers and I eagerly await each book she brings out. She has an amazing gift that takes you to some fabulous locations as well as gradually unwrapping secrets about her characters. I was so thrilled to get a copy of this book from NetGalley, which is set mainly in Austria and Switzerland.

Clover is a documentary film maker who got an award for covering the surfing accident on Corey Albright. She is then invited to make a film of Kit, the surfer who caused the accident but Kit, who has now entered the world of snowboarding, does not want her and her crew anywhere near him and refuses to discuss the accident. There are so many twists to the story as well as brilliant descriptions of what happens on the slopes. I loved everything about this book, would I recommend it? Yes, 100%

Having read an number of books by Karen Swan I was looking forward to reading this early copy. I was disappointed as I did not feel it reached her usual high standards. Although a quirky storyline it did not resonate with me. There was too much guesswork involved as to why the characters showed such animosity towards each other one minute but then completely the opposite just seconds later. Not for me I am afraid.

I did enjoy this romantic story, and found the different aspect of a film producer quite interesting together with the drama of a conflict between two sporting friends and the fallout after a tragedy that occurs. Unfortunately, I did guess quite early on what the hidden secret was, but enjoyed the way that the different relationships between the film crew, the sporting support team and the sportsman were all relayed. The conversations did make me smile and flinch a few times, which is an indication that I was invested in the characters.
A great book for a holiday read, and one that I'd recommend for someone who just wants to lose themselves in a book without any effort being required.

This book is a lovely read and my first with this author Karen Swan . The book gives emotion early into the book and happy smiles. Enjoyed the story and found it well written. Will certainly look out for more from Karen Swan.
