Haunted Homecoming is book 10 of the series. Each and every book is better than the next, and a delight to read.
Verity and her boyfriend Ellis return to her hometown, Sugarland, for Homecoming Week. Her ditzy mother also returns from her travels. Verity finds that both the living and the dead have showed up for the celebrations, and when the Time Capsule is opened, a body is found as well as the 1980s relics. Verity's accomplice Frankie and his girlfriend Meolody are ghosts, and become involved. There are running back stories that continue from book to book which makes this series feel like an old friend! While it is a standalone, as are all the novels, I suggest you start at book 1, and just build on the fun!
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with this copy in return for an unpaid, honest review.

The The Haunted Homecoming is another home run in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series. I love Verity, Ellis, Frankie, & her little skunk Lucy.

It was fun meeting her Mom (finally) & watching a new romance develop for her sister.

Homecoming is Sugarland is a fun place to be & the story was so good!!

Can't wait for the next book!

I can't believe we are 10 books into this world! Each book adds another layer on top of the already awesome previous ones, dragging me deeper and deeper into this wonderful Southern story.

This book has us officially meeting Verity's mom as she returns for the town's homecoming celebration. There are tons of generations all celebrating in town, which leads to your expected mayhem and mystery. In this instance, it is a gruesome discovery in the town's time capsule that puts Verity hot on the case of a murderer. Ellis, always supportive, is now forced to try to protect all the Long girls at once - a tall task indeed!

Our favorite gangster also plays pretty prominently in this story, while not an eager ghost hunting participant, he is at least working (also, reluctantly) on his love life. There's a lot of deception, twists, and turns there, just like with the main mystery storyline. This story had me both rooting for and cringing at Verity's mom the entire way. Do we get a solid mystery resolution? Yup! Verity always gets her man, or ghost, or "other." On top of that, we have a bit of a cliffhanger at the end here that has me eager to dive in to the next installment!

Verity's mother is back in town, its homecoming, and the town has all come out to see the opening of a time capsule from 1985. Unfortunately, they don't find exactly what they were looking for.

This series is always a lot of fun, Frankie is awesome, but his antics made my jaw drop in this one. He is always a bit out there, and over the top with his way of thinking, but I wasn't expecting this!

Another great installment in the series. Look forward to the next one!

I love Verity Long and her skunk Lucy. With Verity's ability to communicate with ghosts, her life is quite interesting and she never fails to make me laugh.
Verity's mom and step dad are in town for a reunion and opening of the time capsule from her mom's graduating class.
Verity's mom is anxious to see her best friend Ashley, and when her body is discovered, Verity can't stop herself from finding the truth.
I really enjoy this series and each book gets more interesting.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Verity and the gang are back and it's homecoming week in Sugarland. There's a mystery to solve. We get to meet Verity's mother. Frankie is up to something. This cozy mystery has a lot going on.
Great characters. A community that would be fun to visit. And a great dose of humor makes this a series you won't want to miss. And if that isn't enough, there's Ellis. Loved it! And that ending! I can't wait for the next book.

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a totally honest review.

I think this is my favourite so far. We get to meet Verity's mum, there's drama, ghosts, murder and a cliffhanger.

I am not fan of cliffhangers, but, this one doesn't make me angry or want to rant at the world, but it does tell us that there is more to come, and that in my opinion it's AWESOME!!

Ellis...oh Ellis, he loves her, very much.

I had so much fun reading this one, laughed aloud a lot.

I can't really say much since a lot of you haven't read it, but oh my god, you are gonna love it!

Now, to suffer book withdrawal until the next one.

The Haunted Homecoming hits on three very important facets of southern life. Football, homecoming and a woman’s relationship with her momma. Verity has to deal with all that Frankies love life and a cold case of murder in this witty mystery. When they discover Verity’s mommas best friend the homecoming queen dead and shoved into a time capsule from the 1980’s things get interesting very fast. This may be a murder mystery but there are some laugh out loud moments that will keep you entertained while finding out who dunnit. A fantastic addition to the series.

Verity Long lives in Sugarland and is welcoming her mother and step-dad for Homecoming. Verity’s mom, Tilly, is anxious to meet a classmate who ran away on their last homecoming before graduating. Tilly’s mom likes to overshare and tells everyone about Verity’s ghosting abilities and any hint they get along the way putting everyone in danger.

This is the first book in this series that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not sure about a skunk as a pet but hopefully Lucy has been deskunked.

It’s Homecoming weekend in Sugarland and Verity Long is excited for a reunion visit with her mother, Tilly. The town mayor is opening the time capsule from Tilly’s high school graduation year, 1986 and she’s excited to see her friends and revisit old memories. Opening the capsule, everyone is shocked to find a dead body, Ashley, Tilly’s best friend who was rumored to have ran off during the dance with her secret love. Verity and her ghost partner, Frankie tackle trying to solve the murder from the ghostly realm, while Ellis, her boyfriend and police detective, investigates from the earthly world. Can they solve Ashley’s murder before someone else ends up dead?

The Southern Ghosthunter series is my absolute favorite cozy mystery series. Verity and Frankie have a enjoyable love-hate relationship that grows with each book. The Haunted Homecoming is a great addition to the series, with right amount of suspense, humor, and romance I’ve come to expect from this series.

Another great read and so much needed getaway from reality with lots of laughs!
Not an unbiased review because I absolutely love the real star of this series--Lucille Desiree Long AKA Lucy, Verity's pet skunk!
I'm not sure about stand-alone quality since I am addicted to this series, but I think that it should do. This one reaches back into town history of the 20th century including the events at the high school graduation of Verity's mom and mom's best friend. The secondary track is about the ghost of a local gangster who is kind of stuck helping Verity with ghostly stuff. And then there's all that interfering past drama about Verity's love life! Lots of ghosts. And suspense. And plot twists and red herrings. all with both situational and verbal humor! Of course I loved it!

Even Verity's mother is back in town for this year's homecoming, as the time capsule that was put down in '85 will be opened prematurely to make space for addendums to the stadium. Everyone will be there!
Verity's mother hopes to finally meet Ashley, her best friend, again, who eloped years ago.

As I requested this, I didn't realise it was part of a series. This is my own fault, on Netgalley it says it's the newest installment in a series, and a book about homecoming simply is wrong if you're new to the set of characters. So much of this relies on you knowing who the protagonist meets, already having an opinion on them - this simply did not work for me.
But I urge you to read other reviews, from people who knew what they were getting into.

If you take this aspect aside, I disliked how friendly everyone was. Even when things got rough, the protagonist, who also narrated the whole thing, was forcing herself to look on the bright side of things which got on my nerves.
Everybody seemed so forced bright, it felt unreal.

To conclude: Just not a book for me. Which does not mean it won't be the right book for you.

In this newest Southern Ghost Hunter book, Sugarland is celebrating homecoming week, everyone is excited because due to getting some improvements to the high school, the time capsule of 1986 is being dug up early. Verity's mother's graduation year! Who comes back to town for the special event! But when the time capsule is opened to find a very unexpected dead body of a young girl in with the time capsule, who happens to be Verity's mothers best friend Ashley Starling in high school, who everyone thought up and left town the night of the homecoming dance. Verity and her mother, with the help of Frankie must find out who killed Ashley! Plus Frankie is being hunted by El Gato, a Cuban gangster, and to add to Frankie's problems he is having problems with his girlfriend Molly. Who is El Gato, you will be surprised, and who killed Ashley is a twist I didn't see coming!!! Mrs. Fox has another winner with this new entry to a great series. I so loved the part with the ghost of Mrs. Gremmelter the lunch lady, proves dont judge a book by its cover, or person as it may be. I highly recommend this book to everyone. This book and series is pure fun, and will keep you reading it all in one setting!!!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

It’s homecoming weekend in Sugarland, Tennessee, and the entire town has turned out to see the opening of the time capsule. But when a dead body is discovered buried inside, Verity must use her ghost hunting powers to discover the truth as to who killed her mom's best friend.
I love the Verity Long books. Really, what is not to love about an outspoken southern gal who has a pet skunk named Lucy, a sidekick ghost named Frankie who is a gangster, and she solves mysteries? I burst out laughing, picturing Lucy in her little cheerleading outfit. How cute is that? If you are a fan of cozy mysteries, then you definitely need to check this one out. It is a lot of fun, and it will definitely keep you guessing. I highly recommend it!

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. This book was so cute! I loved every page! I have never read a book of Angie's, and I didn't know this was a series. So I can't wait to start from the beginning. Highly recommend! Perfect for fall/Halloween season which it right around the corner!

As soon as I got my hands on the ARC of The Haunted Homecoming I dove right in. Who needs to sleep when there is such a fun book calling your name? I have read every single one of the Verity and Frankie mysteries and each has easily earned five stars, hands down.
I don't want to give too much away so I'll offer this: Verity's mom, Tilly, is in town for the early opening of the school time capsule, planted back in 1985 when she was a senior. Bet somebody wishes it would stay buried...like forever, long forgotten. Because it contains the remains of Tilly's best friend she asks Verity to contact Ashley's ghost and get answers. Enter Frankie who is having some, shall I say, romantic issues with Molly. Hey even ghosts can have a love life.
Then there is our favorite little ball of fluff, the one and only Lucy, the best skunk in the literary world. If that role isn't enough, Tilly decks her out in a skunk sized cheerleader's outfit. With Lucy, Verity, her boyfriend Ellis, Frankie and the rest of the usual cast, this is a fun filled who done it from way back in 1985. Darn that pesky flag pole and the football "stadium" upgrades. Somebody's deep dark secret will soon see the light of day. Thanks to Verity's talents at tracking down killers, that secret will soon see the light of day.
My thanks to Angie Fox and to NetGalley for giving me an advance reading copy in exchange for my honest review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Author Collective 20/Moose Island Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This book is part of a series, and I believe this is book 10. I have not read them all, but have read several. This book seems to read well as a stand alone. I enjoyed the book, although I really disliked Tilly (Verity's mom), Please, please tell me that I am not that obnoxious. I wanted her gone. The mystery was interesting, and I was surprised at the killer. A pretty quick read. It's a typical cozy mystery and not a ton of paranormal in this particular book. 3.5 stars

The Haunted Homecoming by Angie Fox is book #10 in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series. I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, but I have read other books by Ms. Fox. Since I have enjoyed her other works, I expected to enjoy this book as well. I’d do a quick rundown of the book, but the blurb pretty much covers it so let’s just get on with what I thought of the book.

Cute, fun, and entertaining is my overall impression. Verity I found to be a spunky character. Really hard to not like her. I mean, come on, she has a skunk for a pet. How can you hate that? Actually, all the characters were very likeable, including Frankie. I did on occasion, find her mom a bit annoying but I’m sure there is a backstory there I am missing out on that would explain her actions.

There’s a nice little mystery to solve of a rather unexpected dead body that is found during homecoming. And…since Verity is a ghost hunter, you betcha this is one ghost she is going to want to find. The author did a great job of supplying enough suspects and misdirections thorough the story that, once the killer is revealed, I was totally taken by surprise. Dun Dun Dun Duuuun!! Nope, I didn’t see that coming at all. And that right there in my book is a sign of a good mystery. Keeping your reader guessing, and we’ll keep coming back for more.

I know this is a series but at no time did I feel I was missing out on anything. It really did feel complete and I do feel I could just stop here with this series. Except, now after getting to experience some of the characters, I think I’d like to go back and see what I missed out on. If you are in the market for a light-heart fun mystery, then pick yourself up a copy of The Haunted Homecoming.
