Snowflakes over the starfish cafe - I really liked the characters in this book, to begin with I thought it was not going to be my usual taste in books and everything was going to be too perfect in their lives, but the more I read I realised this was not to be the case. Some areas of the book had me laughing and some I thought were really sweet and bought tears to my eyes.
It is also informative about the RNLI and makes you appreciate how they save lives everyday.
I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it and look forward to reading the follow on from this one.
The book has a feel good factor and we all could do with reading a book like this after the year we have all had, it’s nice to lose yourself in a book like this

I loved this book by Jessica Redland, with the story of two people with trauma in their past, who want to learn to let love remove the shadows, and live for the future. Moving between the present and various times in the past, we learn the tragic events of both Hollie and Jake's lives. A sweet little dog brings them together and helps them open their hearts to each other.

As always with a Jessica Redlands book this is full of action, packs a punch and offers a nice warm hug. Loved the story and would gladly read more.

Contains minor plot spoilers

I recently came across Jessica’s work and vowed to read through her entire back catalogue, so when the opportunity came to read an advanced copy of this, I snapped it up. Any book involving Christmas and snow is always guaranteed to make me happy, and when you throw in Jessica’s naturally beautiful writing style, it’s a no brainier - and yes I did read accompanies by Christmas music in the heat of August.

It is a very contemporary story of love and loss and all the ugliness that coned with both. The lovey-doves bits aren’t sickly sweet, and the sad bits aren’t over the top. It’s like a warm hug in a book. It is fabulously festive but appropriate for all times of the year - but I have been to known to read Christmas books in the height of summer so I’m not the best judge of when to read what.

Jessica doesn’t come out and tell you everything right at the beginning. We learning more about the characters as they get to know each other, which flows really nicely.

As someone who lost her father 10 days before Christmas in 2017, I know all too well how difficult the festive period can become. Jessica finds a fight balance between a truthful heartbreak and tugging at heartstrings just for entertainment purposes.

Oh and it’s true that a dog can save you in your darkest days unlike anything else.

We are back in the delightful Whitsborough bay and are introduced to a cast of new characters with a few oldies thrown in for good measure.

In this tale we meet Hollie who has inherited the Starfish Cafe and meets Jake who comes in with a cute lost dog Mr Pickles.

Both of them have traumatic pasts and form the most amazing friendship.

Jessica has that magical touch of writing such sensitive issues but in such a heartwarming way that you just want to plough through the pages with a tissue or two.

A book full of emotion, really lovely characters and a wonderful community within the bay.

I throughly enjoy my trips to the seaside and so wish it was a real place as the Starfish is one place I would love to visit.

I love how Jessica sends you on a rollercoaster of a journey and you read that last page with a big huge smile on your face.

I am a big fan of Jessica and love how I have now introduced my friends to her amazing stories.

If you are looking a feel good uplifting read then this is the perfect read for you.

Hollie and Jake both have traumatic pasts. When a lost dog means a chance meeting, will they find happiness, or will their pasts control their future?

I truly loved this book. I can't remember the last time an author reduced me to tears with their words on numerous occasions, it was such an emotive read. The main characters take turns to narrate chapters, jumping from the present back to various points in their pasts as we're given hints at events that have shaped their lives, and I cried throughout their stories!

I've only read two books by this author, but after this one, I'm definitely hunting out more!

This book is something else, honestly, I can’t remember a book that’s moved me to tears as much as this book did.

I’m not a fan of first person POV books but I adore her hedgehog series so was willing to give a go and I’m so glad I did. The raw emotion, pain and grief jumped out of the pages in a way I don’t think 3rd POV would! My heart broke for both Hollie and Jake and the amount of suffering they’ve gone through! The story was so moving and I loved how their paths were linked before they even met.

Redland is such a talented writer and I know this book will stay with me forever! It is one of the most heartbreaking but yet touching books I’ve ever read. I couldn’t put it down and I’m sure my husband might have questions as to why I was crying under the duvet whilst reading my kindle

A lovely story centred on two main characters both are grieving and have closed their hearts to love. Jake and Hollie tell the story from their perspective moving back and forth in time. (make sure you read chapter titles as it can get a little confusing as to where in time the chapter is) beautifully written with not a dull moment, The story draws you in from the first moment as you travel along Jake and Hollies reawakening of love. Brilliant

Snowflakes Over The Starfish Cafe by Jessica Redland is a wonderful, warm, festive, and uplifting contemporary romance. I love everything Ms. Redland writes, and this is no exception.

I love how enjoyable, relaxing, heartwarming, and positive this story becomes. In a day in an age where everything is doom and gloom, it is refreshing to read something that makes me smile and puts a bounce in my step, and that is exactly what this book does.

The narrative, introduction, and progression of the main characters in regards to their personal stories and struggles, as well as in their relationship is just sweet and effortless. Despite their past obstacles, traumas, and sad moments, Hollie and Jake are able to find one another, find their place in life, and find happiness.

I really liked this book and highly recommend it.

Jessica Redland is one of the best authors who could write emotions.

Hollie and Jake, 2 souls who had been hurt before were brought together by the strength of this author's words.

Not a big romance reader I am, but I make sure I get to this author's books. I loved how she evoked my emotions so much so that I rooted for these characters. They were well developed, each with issues that slowly resolved.
Absolutely took me away from my real life and healed me too.
