Lovely inviting cookbook, covering everything a child would need to know to start preparing a range of meals. Lots of vibrant, colourful photography and clear descriptions of techniques and equipment. Also shows how to start growing their own fruit and vegetables.

The No-Cook Cookbook by D.K. Publishing was a great illustrated book especially as it was fun and so easy to follow. My nephew loved using this book with me and asked me to get it for him and his mum.
This book had over 50 recipes for me and my nephew to try - hence why I purchased this for him so he could show his mum how to cook! lol., It also showed him how to cook all by himself and gain their independence in the kitchen with his mum watching close by.

Big Thanks Netgalley and DK for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review

Such a great book! I loved the ideas and have made many of the recipes. A real triumph that I go back to very often.

I'm not really sure what to make of this book. I found a lot of the ideas were things I've already made with my child and it wasn't really that inventive.

4☆ A Fun and Easy to Follow Cookbook...Perfect for a Budding Young Cook!

The No-Cook Cookbook is a fun Children’s Cookbook that teaches Children how to make and prepare delicious recipes.

This book is very informative and easy for children to understand and follow. The illustrations are photo based which is brilliant as it shows the reader clearly what to do and each recipe has a photograph of the finished recipe so you can see what it is incase you haven't heard of the recipes before.

There is a very good guide at the beginning showing readers firstly all the equipment they will need including visual aids to help them be a little more independent in the kitchen. There is also guides on how to peel, cut, slice, grate, separate eggs, juice, whisk, folding in method, zesting, using herbs & garlic. Oh and there's even sections on how to grow your own veg!

The pages are bright, eye catching and the recipes Scrumptious.
I liked that the layout for the recipes are simple to follow and all are non baked which isn't something I've come across in a recipe book for children before.
The ingredients are listed as grams and oz which is brilliant, it makes it so much easier, as there's no faffing about with conversions.

A few examples of the recipes are....No Bake Granola, Overnight Oats, Chicken Caesar Salad, Gazpacho, Pancake Spirals, Nutty Red Pepper Purée, Dukkah and Labneh, Courgetti, Prawn Summer rolls, Tacco Feast, Chicken and Mango Boats, Fruit Fools, Raspberry Ripple Fridge Cake, Watermelon Slush, Apple Doughnuts...so as you can see a varied range.

I think budding young cooks will love this book. I'm not sure how costly the ingredients might be, but you might need to spend out on some baking equipment which could work out costing so it's something to be mindful about.
Overall a fantastic Cookbook, with plenty of inspiration.

Thank you to DK Kids & Netgalley for my copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Cute cookbook with nice layout and recipes and illustrations. Being a no cook cookbook the book certainly has a summer vibe about it. Whilst it has a lot of lovely recipes they didn’t really appeal to the kids.

This is going on the Christmas parcels of all the young people I know. The idea of a no cook cookery book was intriguing but I found much more than I expected in this book (that does not happen very often ). The layout and colourful format of the book would be so appealing to join chefs. Independence and an understanding of basic nutrition is something so important that is often overlooked these days but this book attempts to redress the balance. I also liked the idea of encouraging children to go that step further and grow their own.

I love cookbooks and this one didn't disappoint! The pages are bright, full of colour, information and tips. The recipes are brilliant and easy to make. Being no cook its great for children. I love the grow your own pages as well as the recipes where it gives different variations. I can't wait to purchase this book as I think it would be used often. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Found myself a bit disappointed with this DK book - while yes, it is no cook quite a few recipes call for "ready made" items which really defeats the purpose of learning where food comes from, and how to prepare it - it would have been much better to have a "ready made" item variation that adults can help cook (e.g. one recipe calls for 'ready made' crepes - why not have a "tip box" with a recipe to make them? so the option to have it all homemade is there?).

There's lots of variations of recipes and not many different recipes - I also found the order of the recipes didn't really....exist, it was more of a mash of recipes than a flowing recipe book.

I did enjoy the amount of veggie rich foods and the encouraging words to try new foods though...

In true DK style this book is brimming with mouthwatering photos showing vibrant colours of fresh, healthy tempting food. Perfectly pitched for children to read and share with practical ideas and tips. I love how it incorporates simple ideas for things to grow then harvest and enjoy, as well as promoting healthy ingredients to prepare. I think a big hit with children and parents.

This is a well illustrated and easy to follow cookbook. I would argue that it would benefit adults as well as its target audience of children.

The recipes are simple and not necessarily high on a kids eating list but it does give a well rounded cookbook.

It also suggests how to grow your own. So overall for me an excellent starter book for beginners of all ages.

Enjoy!

This recipe book mainly consists of freezable sweet treats, overnight oaty ideas, smooths, salads, dips and sandwiches - which may sound limiting but they're all fantastic ways of getting children trying and interested in a wide variety of food! The recipes are easy to follow, if the font is a little small, and there are pictures for more complex steps. It has a detailed introduction that goes through basic safety tips and good equipment to use etc. There's a glossary too and the recipes use such a fantastic range of ingredients.

I think this book would be a perfect present for a 7+ who express an interest in cooking/being in the kitchen. It's full of great ideas to expand their food horizons and I'm definitely going to be making some of the dishes myself until my little one is old enough to help out!

This is a great cook (well, no-cook) book, perfect for little chefs and big chefs alike!

The pages are wonderfully colourful and has plenty of photographs to guide you through each recipe. I love that there were sections for growing your own fruit or vegetables too.

I'm really looking forward to trying some of these out with my kids, and several without to be honest!

Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous book full of easy, delicious, mainly healthy recipes! I want to cook these , never mind the grandchildren! Straight forward explanations given so anyone can easily recreate the recipes given. Love that instructions are given on how to grow the main vegetable and fruit ingredients too. Getting their interest when young is key to giving them a love of gardening. I am also seriously considering getting this book for my recently widowed father in law who is really struggling to motivate himself to cook healthy food for himself this easy cookbook will be ideal for him to produce healthy meals DK books were always a sure fire success with my children and now their children will be getting just as much use and enjoyment from their new publications. A necessity for any cook and any kitchen whatever your age, but children will get huge satisfaction from creating these meals.

This is a fantastic recipe book to introduce children to cooking. No cook means that lots of these recipes can be done in the classroom (if a kitchen is unavailable) or at home. The book includes a detailed guide of all equipment needed and how to use it and lots of hints and tips to encourage children to grow their own ingredients. Each recipe has clear steps and colourful photos.

An entire cookbook of 50 recipes with zero actual cooking? When I saw this I was so intrigued I had to request it.

I was expecting pretty basic recipes without much range and I was totally wrong.

The No Cook Cookbook fulfils it’s purpose- it’s set up perfectly to get kids cooking with a colourful and eye catching layout, mouth watering pictures and easy to follow instructions. There is a list of kitchen rules so the kids can be safe and hygienic as they follow the recipes. No heat is required for any recipe so it truly is the no cook cookbook. There are warning symbols to let the child know when they will need adult supervision. There are pages illustrating techniques about to prep your ingredients and my favourite thing of all - how to grow your own ingredients to use in the recipes.

There are a wide range of interesting and adventurous recipes which appealed to everyone in the family. Each recipe has tips to help the kids along the way and ideas for how to tweak the dish.

I’ve reviewed several cookbooks recently, and this is my favourite of the lot. It’s going to be a firm favourite that the whole family will use again and again.

Thank you to the author Rebecca Woollard, DK publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

I really like this book, it’s simple but not patronising or boring, a lot of the recipes I would cook for myself which is surprising for a book aimed at children. It’s colourful and bright and I especially like the tips for how to grow your own fruits and vegetables. A lovely book for aspiring chefs.

Another wonderful cookbook aimed at children. by DK, especially as it not doesn't involve anything hot.. A very fortuitous and well timed book for me to review as I had my grandchildren to stay (6 and 3) and we managed to make quite a few dishes featured, including Pancake Spirals (I'd previously made pancakes without their help), Fruit and Cheese Kebabs, Dip Pots and Smoked Fish Pate to name a few. The children were also intrigued by the tips for growing fruit and vegetables as they've recently moved house and their parents have promised them a vegetable patch. This will be a book I shall be buying for them plus other young children in the family. Totally up to DK's usual standard for informative and educational children's books.
